  • -Look, we can't sing for you without the back up band

Translation: We can only dance around and move our lips, you won't get any music out of us...unless we can borrow your cassette tape.

  • "Look, we can't sing for you without the back up band."

AKA: We can only dance around and move our lips, you won't get any music out of us...unless we can borrow your cassette tape.

  • "Look, we can't sing for you without the back up band."

AKA: We can only dance around and move our lips, you won't get any music out of us...unless we can borrow your cassette (that's what they had then, folks!) tape.

  • FREE MAX B Owwwwwww

  • owwwwww so wavy

  • I have never noticed an edited Mario cartoon before (besides the song from Ghosts R Us) o_O

  • If the real singers of the band were shown here, how come nobody knew they were lipsyncing? The whole Milli Vanilli band was PLANNED to be an act, I never understood why they got busted for lipsyncing. And if the original singers did the voices here, this just proves that everyone already knew. Something's out of whack here...

  • I know it is hard to see in this quality but if anyone watches the DVD ones, at 1:45 the drummer on the left is smoking a cigarette.

  • @FelixAdler I have the DVD ones, I'll try to pause it and see. :)

  • yeah and back then,we dont call the princess peach we just called her princess toadstool

  • I always loved that voice for King Koopa, not very happy with what we ended up with the in 3D games.

  • This version is the only one I've seen. Channel 4 showed this version many times during repeats years after the scandal. I have never seen the edited version.

  • Where is the beginning of this? why don't you upload the whole episode? All the other original uploads are in bad quality.

  • Classic!

  • i was expecting the chicks in the crowd to show their tits lol

  • @protectminors I would surely like to know any of the girls that Rob and Fab had in their rooms, and not only for how the voices sounded like... :D

  • How am i just finding out about this? This seems like some shit Nostalgia Critic would have posted years ago. And then ruined with 45 minutes of repetitive, unfunny screaming and airsoft guns.

But he would have fucking showed it all the same.

How did this go under the radar?

  • Who cares if they were lip-syncers, there songs were still sweet.

  • Boy, Bowser was right, the music was terrible.

  • So, did Rob and Fab actually sing here on this episode? And do the speaking voices belong to them? I can't find a clear answer anywhere, please tell me.

  • had it on vhs in norwegian. loved watching it when i was a kid.

god i miss good old days

  • There's such an irony to this episode.

  • R.I.P Robert "Rob" Pilatus (June 8, 1965 – April 2, 1998)

  • Accountant, ha ha ha, good one! =D

  • So Tommy Wiseau was part of Milli Vanilli> That explains...a lot.

  • 3:45 Look at how his eyes shift when he says that, like he is telling the half-truth there.

  • Hey i have this on a old VHS , its danish but the singing is the original :P

  • Did the Wild and Crazy Guys from SNL voice Milli Vanilli in the non-singing scenes?

  • Poor Princess Toadstool. Can you belive how she reacted? She must have been like Hitler when he found out Fegelein and Peter Griffin shaved his moustache off while he was drunk.

  • Fire up the Doomship! @ 0:06

  • Argh! That singing wasn't in the airings on Freesat channel Pop!

  • Girl you know it's-girl you know it's-girl you know it's

  • This was released about a month before they got caught!

  • @mlsgiant Blame MTV for that

  • was this released before or after they got caught?

  • @DawnNightshade before

  • I HAVE THAT ONE ON A VHS :D :D

  • 5:58 = Bowser: AHH A wooden drumstick! MY ONE WEAKNESS! D8 RUN!!!

  • When Mario says, "Hey how come we don't get this kind of applause when we do a good pumbing job" reminds me of Dire Straights, "Money for Nothing"

  • It's kind of funny that they are so hated for what they did. MOST singers now don't sing their songs, well... they sorta do but it's mostly auto-tune.

It's showbiz. Rob and Fab were the "frontmen" and other people provided the actual sound. Rob and Fab made all the appearances and did all the dancing.

The Monkeys (the band) acted out playing instruments for their TV show while studio performers made the actual music. That stuff happens all the time and is really nothing new.(and hasn't stopped)

  • @amyanda, I agree. Also, in the long run, Rob & Fab proved they could sing.

  • @amyanda

Doesn't make it any more acceptable.

  • Girl, you know it's true

Ooh ooh ooh, I love you

  • If Milli Vanilli falls in the woods and no one is around does someone else make a sound?

  • @rambo6699

    Nice.

  • It is just me, or does Kootie Pie look kinda like Lil' Kim....

  • I wished Bowser could had kepted Milli Vanilli for good.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh crap, no wonder he said "blame it on the koopa" LOL.

  • better than other version

  • 6:36 The background start to repeat!

  • kootie pie: sing for me!!

milli vanilli: we cant sing for you without a band

haha they never sang in the first place!!

  • haha only in a mario cartoon would there be a girl wit blinkin pants

  • This brings me back when Saturday mournings were the SHIT!! Now Saturday mourning is nothing but news programings NBC sure was good 20 years ago now they SUCK!! Whoever put this on here thank u soooo much I love this cartoon

  • 4:19 Toad looks badass

  • 7:27-7:38 Milli Vanilli are getting laid

  • hahahahahaha

  • you know millii vinilli is actually a chick

  • Comment removed

  • "I am a Royal Reptile and I command you..." get used to hearing this

  • The video skips too.

  • 7:36...WTF

  • This is the best thing ever.

  • Peach lives in New York?

  • 6:00 hates fakes

  • 7:11, now "preseting" milli vanilli.

  • 6:19 didn't Mario,Luigi, and Toad go though that walk way

  • Bowser's parenting skills are awesome, this brings me back, good stuff hahaha. by the way is it me or does Bowser sound like the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase.

  • Comment removed

  • Such a tragedy for one of them to kill themselves over the whole scandel. I still listen to MV every once-in-a-while.

  • I like that they spelled "presenting" wrong.

  • 5:08. Wendy suddenly turns cross-eyed. =/

  • if i was in this episode and kootie pie found out they were faking, i'd run away because there would probably be an endless screaming fest!

  • Oh yes. I remember this well.

  • More like "Back-Ups 'R Wii"

  • I wonder why the moment at 7:27-7:38 was cut. I know nothing about the actual band but just saw this because I'm a super mario fanatic and well I needed to see the real version and not the one in which generic pop was put in instead.

  • Princess 4:19-6:25, looks sorta like a barbie doll.

  • @EmeraldLantern2814 I love that Koopa runs screaming @ 6:00 lol "So scream. It sounds better than the other noise." @ 6:42

  • 6:00 DRUMSTICKS! MY ONE WEAKNESS!! AUUUUUUUGHH!!

  • "Oh No! We're Nerds! We're Dweebs!!!" If you ask me, they were better off as accountants. At least they'd still be working, and that one guy would still be alive.

If they get turned into Beatles, that would suck because Michael Jackson would own the rights to their music.

  • Now, this is how I remember this episode. I'm not a Milli Vanilli fan, but the original song makes this episode feel more genuine.

  • uugggh, i hate mili vanilli.....they SSUK

  • This is actually like watching The Super Show before syndication.

  • milli vanilli, this is a riot

  • I just bet they needed a backup band lmao

  • This episode of Mario has a sordid and unusual history behind it. This was aired like 2 days before they announced they hadn't sung a note on their grammy winning album. This version of the episode only aired once before the Milli Vanilli songs were dubbed with generic stock music. This is a very rare find indeed. Thanks for the upload

  • Yay! Bowser did something good for once. He kidnapped Milli Vanilli!

  • Anyone notice that the original episodes run faster than the ones on the DVD?

  • At the 1:46 mark of this video shows the real singers the BACKUP singers!

  • Actually, the real singers were never onstage with Milli Vanilli. Even the background singers at concerts weren't the singers on the record.

  • @mlsgiant There were 5 real singers: Charles Shaw, John Davis, Brad Howell, and twin sisters Jodie and Linda Rocco. They were featured on Milli Vanilli's second album: Moment of Truth. It wasn't released in America.

The original two guys, Rob and Fab, released an album called Rob & Fab that bombed. They're actually good singers.

  • @mlsgiant That is incorrect. All it shows are three cartoon characters. The REAL backup singers are Jodie and Linda Rocco, Brad Howell and Johnny Davis.

  • "I'll never hear my favorite music again" Actually you will, Princess...

  • Thank you for putting this up in watchable quality! can you upload the rest of it?

  • And the Instrumental Song that replaced it was "Mega Move" from Captain N The Game Master's Season 2 episode "The Feud At Faxanadu!"

  • where's Bowser jr?

  • @Fastjet21 He wasn't even introduced in the Mario Series until Super Mario Sunshine!

  • Milli Vanilli were so much better than the beatles

  • @Bifftannen26 maybe justin bieber

  • @Bifftannen26 Milli Vanili were, just like most all-time artists, not even on pair with the Beatles.

  • @Bifftannen26 woaaaaaah. They were good but not that good.

  • Can you remember how big your bowl of cereal was, the saturday morning this aired?

  • Milli Vanilli?!?! what the!??! XD

  • Well, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show had appearances by Cyndi Lauper, Cher, and the queen of glitz and glamour herself, Dianna Ross.

  • @YoshiAngemon Don't forget that it also has a wrestler (Hint: He played as Mario in the show mentioned herein and died in 2009 of a heart atack, and was in one of Cyndi Lauper's music videos)

  • That I DO know.

  • great stuff...are people actually still complaining about them lip sincing? awesome

  • yea cause thats just something people forget you know. Your entire career being a fraud and all.

  • @chaunceystangle, the Rob & Fab album redeemed them.

  • "We can't perform for you without a band." More like "We can't perform for you without a tape player that doesn't skip."

  • I wonder what the princess thought when she found out they didn't do their own singing, and that the real singers are a bunch of old guys who didn't have the look?

  • @pyrogyra72 She probably cried a bit then got over it and started liking Justin Bieber (Yecchh)

  • @THEdragonOfRainbows There you go!

  • Princess Toadstool is so selfless at 3:52.

  • This may be uncut, but they were still total liars!

  • i'll admit i didn't think the smb cartoons were all that great, but I thought this one was the most redeeming. King koopa was funny with his kids.

  • ...oh...my...god...

  • Yeah... omg is right. I actually remember watching this episode when I was 10 years old. And at that young of an age, you actually -liked- generic lipsync teenie bopper bands, because that's all the radio played. The early 90's was just an era of bad music. MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, NKOTB, C+C Music Factory, Mili Vanili...

  • THANKS!

    BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

  • Awesome !!! i was looking for this episode !!!! Thanks !!!
