When I add another CSP to a character ( a second CSP) it freezes and when I check what happened on BrawlBox the final two CSP has different name and it says "Palette (NW4R)" and one of them is White and Black, what I need to do???
I got pictures from the Internet for my portraits but they don't seem to be working, I followed the procedures. When I used fusion suit samus or blade knight as an image it displays all of the characters names instead of just reading ****samus or ****metaknight. What am I doing wrong?
When I hit Save for a TGA file, a box comes up that says RLE compression with a checkbox to select or deselect, and Origin with a drop-down for Bottom-left or Top-left. Do these option matter when doing this?
1- In the CSS, my CSPs are cut in half and after a while the game freezes.
2- When I save as .tga, there's a check box "RLE compression". It was originally checked, so I left as that. Am I supposed to uncheck it or something? And below the "RLE compression", I'm supposed to choose the origin as "Lower left" or "Upper left".
Ok well ive done everything exactly and it sorta works. It only shows my CSP at the result screen but it is like cutoff. And i am positive that i renamed the common5_en.pac to common5.pac.
1. Do you know how to make appear at the selection screen?
2. Why is it cutoff at the result screen?
3. Am I supposed to have anything in the \portrite\ folder?
4. Lastly, how do you make the CSPs appear ingame? What FullMetalFalcon said.
@Arbiter9 You should really just bring it down to 72 if you're "fed up with it". That low of a number is usually assured to work, but obviously produces a crappier picture.
It still tells me that the character is too big. I'm not sure what I could have done wrong as I followed your video verbatim. Is there anywhere I could just put my character pictures up and somebody creates them for me?
hey. Thank you so much for the video. I have a couple of questions though. In the spreadsheet of the maximum indexing values it says that you might get an error with some of them. When do you get this error? Is it when you run the CUPASH step on the computer or do you only know after you test it out on the wii? Also, are the indexing values the same for the BP's (the character#_small.tga files)? Is there any difference in making these files (other than image dimensions)? Thanks again!
@amount18 The error I speak of is when you run it through step two on the computer, not on your Wii. Very rarely will it make it through the computer process, and then fail on the screen.
Extract the original InfFaces in step1. I have a short guide in KCMM's Tutorials forum, called "Battle Portraits: How to Find the Ones You Want." It includes a download of all the original InfFaces.
for some reason when I load all the files onto my SD card and put it in my Wii the character portraits are cut in half. The portrait u left in it of mario with the tuxedo is also cut in half when I got to the character select screen.
Remove the "_en" from the new common5_en.pac. This is *always* the issue here, and the fact that Jack specifically mentioned in the video just makes this sad.
so does the palette thing only work on PC? When I saw this vid I immediately DL'd GIMP for my Mac...but I just DL'd the package and realized that it was prbly just PC...is the way you do palettes necessary? or just easier?
You didn't erase the extra junk in the picture before indexing. Again. The colors were similar, so it didn't hurt the picture quality much.. this time.
You also picked another snapshot with the character in the air, skipping over the usually necessary step of free selecting around the character's feet.
Finally, you added in several steps that have no apparent purpose other than confusing the newbs this guide is supposed to help.
I will give you major kudos, though, for making that chart with the max colors for every portrait. The grueling task of making that myself is what prevented me from finishing my vid a week ago.
Thanks for the comments. I understand where you come from. However, the extra steps are performed to avoid any sort of errors. By going out of the way to perform certain steps, it makes sure that nothing will go wrong for each individual user...
Granted it could have been shorter, but this will prove much more effective in the long-run.

Yup. Technically, any version greater than 7 is possible.
