yes it does light up, but its harder to see them light up on the white one, thats y i have the black.. And there are few cons like no flash player for the browser, but thats not such a big deal, it sometimes has its little freakouts where it slows down and starts turning on and off but thats very rare... Pros: Good keyboard easy to use, nice free apps, 3G network anywhere u go, and not too complicated, message me if u have anymore questions

narr b.coz it has a glossy finish, its really easy to clean.. if it has scratches & dirt gets into the scratches i'd say that may make it look messy, but still, i'd say its relatively hard to scratch

I just switched from the Sidekick LX to the G1. I was a HUGE sidekick fan, I've had every sidekick that's been released. In my opinion, sidekicks are much easier to IM and Text with but the G1 is a lot more fun and can still be used to IM and text but not as easily as the sidekick. Overall I like the G1 more.

The G1 is a little sucky for IM right now....in fact there's no nice option if you're an MSN user.

I'm holding onto my G1 for the future but sticking with my iPhone 3g for general use...I can just do much more with it and it's friendlier.

We'll see what the G1's Cupcake update brings next month
