I walked out & went home. Parents were furious and told them not to do it ever again.

My father did talk to state of Oklahoma because he was a political himself. He warned the public school about consider to suing public school. But somehow he made a dealing with state of oklahoma about open total communication for the deaf @ public school. He did win for me. but unfortunately, he did not learn ASL to communicate me while I grew up! He was abusing me while I grew up at home because of LACK OF COMMUNICATION! Therefore my childhood was dyfuncation due to lack of communication!
Thanks! It is for everyone who faced the problem with oralism school for the deaf that not allow them learning ASL as it is freedom of speech and ASL in our country. Today it is much better than past! BUT we are so glad to educate the deaf community about ASL and Oralsim, audism, etc.

For some with bad hearing loss, oral ed. will take up a large amount of time helping the child to learn to speak and hear when all their peers will be learning other subject matter. Even with oral, many become somewhat good at speech and hearing but with little to no knowledge of ASL and many feel isolated from both worlds.
