@dannyphatom45 then you do not know of the hidden culture of Disney, my friend. When Disney did their movies, each Tale was centered in one area or another that is represented here. I'll point out some of the obvious ones. Lilo and Stitch: Hawaii, Peter Pan: England, Alladin: Saudi Arabia, Mulan: China, Mowgli and Lion King, Africa. I hope you see where I'm going with all this. When Disney made it big, it was with animating children's fairy tales that originated from somewhere in the world.

@bjsdemon Pinocchio is obvious too if you 1. know about german fashion and 2. if you played Nancy Drew the Captive Curse. the jungle book actually came from India unless you know of any other place you can find a tiger in the wild plus girls with a red dot on her forehead. if you think about it mowgli's skin tone is typical for a kid from india.

This is my opinion, but I don't like the mermaid area anymore. I don't like Ariel's weird little kid singing voice. I miss the bubbly underwater singing the mermaids used to do. They should do both. Ariel sings the first part then the mermaids sing the rest.

I have recently visited the park & saw this first hand & thought they did a beautiful job of integrating classic story characters from their respective lands (except Lilo & stich who is very new/not being a classic tale in the Mary Blair style) I was very impressed & did not notice any of the old left out, Even though there were some things replaced or moved closer together.

It's OK, some old school Disney fans can get very obsessive about this sort of thing. I know, I am one of them (but I am getting sick of the repetitive "HSM and Hannah Montana is the devil" stuff). And I do agree that Disney rides should be left to the older classics, but the newer Diseny Stars have their own stuff like concerts, appearances, and other stuff. I dunno, Disney World/Land just always seemed like havens for the classic stories, and nothing about the Disney Stars is very nostalgic.

People do need to stop hating and picking on HSM, HM, etc. Those franchises have their fans and their own things anyway. And their shows, movies, etc. aren't so bad. I myself have even developed a bit of a soft spot for HSM, which has pretty much become the "Mickey Mouse Club" of the 21st century (ducks thrown objects).

And the Disney Channel-related things, newer Disney stars, etc. are just as much a part of Disney as the old classics and whatnot, whether you like it or not.

There's no Mowgli in the ride, but the other characters are Panchito and Jose Carioca (forming The Three Caballeros with Donald), Simba/Pumbaa/Timon, Woody/Bullseye/Jessie and Aladdin/Jasmine. I should have read more from my Disney boards; I thought they took out the rainforest and New Guinea rooms; I'm so glad they kept them in!
