i hate to break it to everyone debating thing but slash and duff have done nothing spectacular since guns n roses. i mean velvet revolver is okay but nothing special. on the flip side axl has only done that botched abortion known as the chinese democracy. that album is garbage. i have listened to it 6 times front to back hoping it would grow on me and its just getting worse. both sides need the other equally in order to achieve greatness. i hope they reunite someday but i doubt it.

You can dislike it, but telling that its garbage is not fair at all. Its not commercial but it contains many great songs with a lot of work and emotions in it... like: This I love, Madagascar, better, Sorry etc... Since i saw them live, i'm really discovering and appreciating this great album.

I like improvisation in live shows. Who wants to hear a note for note rendition of a song live? it gets boring. And to the people bashing bumblefoot or fink or buckethead, etc. It's obvious that you have never listened to their work. Bumble and bucket are amazing guitarists, and can play the shit out of any song. You have to give credit where credit is due. GNR fucking rocks, new or old. Slash left in '96. Get the fuck over it. Both Axl and Slash said they are never reuniting. It's not just Axl.

My favourite guitar player for GNR was Buckethead and heres why:

His solos (not the one man show solos) Buckethead made GNR solos his own and it sounded perfect, too bad Finck played the majorety of the solos of the classics on live shows.

Bucketheads diversety and capebillyties as a genious musician not just a guitarist.

I love Ashba, Bumblefoot and even Fortus, but Buckethead is in my opinion, the best guitarist in GNR.

Look at the way Bumblefoot is playing the outro of november rain, it's 10X better than Slash was doing in live shows... he could easily play every solos of the band, Ashba too... but they are a team and they are sharing the solos to play those who fits more with their style. For sure, it's not because of a lack of capability to play them. Their live performances are more accurate than in the old days. AWESOME BAND!!! THANKS AXL!!!!!

Velvet Revolver sucks because it painfully underlines how dependent Slash was on Izzy and Axl to even come close to writing a riff or solo. These people have proven their worth out of GNR more than Slash ever will as a standalone entity. On top of that, they are much better live players. Slash is a hugely overrated guitar player and only considered a "monster" by those who somehow cofuse popularity for quality.

They have three guitarists, two do rythm and one lead (they all switch out). They do this because it gives the music a much more 'full' and high quality sound.
