I had the luxury of studying with Nicola at Indiana University, at the insistence of his wife, Virgina Zeani, to whom I will ever be indebted. We sang "O tu Palermo" together in his studio many times, and I sang it on one recital, which James King the heldentenor attended and I coached with King for almost 2 years, with the approval of Nicola. What an education, to study with 2 of the world's best singers at the same time! Nicola was a truly great man, teacher and poet.

he is bigger and probably stronger than cesare siepi was.....but in my opinion the later sound even better.....what is wrong with the today technique....old singer had something...we are missing today....
