I got collared last week fare dodging for the first time ever, it was funny actually, I was gunna make a scene but there was a little girl looking at us, might have scared her. I pay when I go on long journeys but when your just going a couple of stops your thinkin ah fuck it, I couldve walked but I allowed them the privilege of taking me, that should be payment enough. I bet Ive been a train that youve drove, its just so likely.
stand clear of the doors please made it idiot proof, now when it says doors closing you have kids holding the doors open so their mates can get in. One time they broke the door and the train started to move! It stopped tho and the driver had to come around to fix it. I really like the metty lyk. Ill miss it when I emigrate the fuck out of here :D
Nothing wrong with the Metro system at all. I use it most days, better than getting the bus around Newcastle thats for damn sure. Just wait til its replacement comes in, then everytime we get a little rain; the whole network will grind to a halt.
Eh I take pictures of bulldozers and cranes as a hobby/interest; I also get these halfwits who try to be smart: if you want to take movies of Metro's then go for it mate and have fun while you do!

theres another clip on here from the queen opening it or something and the Metro was yellow and white which is how I remember it, oh, and, I had a model train bought for me from the Monument station or something! ha! hmmm not sure when I was last there but they were gearing up to opening Newcastle airport whenveer that was? im guessing around 91-92 maybe?! hmmm

I used to have family in Whitley Bay which we used to visit and I was maybe 0 - 8 years old and the one think I looked forward to was the Metro! and, sadly, I used to get so excited about seeing it coming up the tunnel (when in the city centre obviously!) and my sister and I used to fight about who would get to press the button when it turned green hahaha
The metro is well worth a visit as it uses old NER infrastructer. There are many old NER stations and many new station on the system. Some of it runs underground through the city center.
Cool stuff, I'm really interested in this Tyneside Metro, looks so much better than our 'Croydon Tramlink' system down here in South London. If I'm ever up in Tyne & Wear area, I'll have to give it a go :D

In this day and age of far to many announcements on trains how on earth is "doors closing" stupid, when in fact, its just straight to the point!!!

You guys are lucky in Newcastle to have the metro system. I particularly like the Latin signs at Wallsend!
