  • Yeahh... Right.

  • I don't know if this is correct, in theory it could be quite simple but I was never a good programmer. So here goes, when an image is scanned the pixels are coded, hex colours etc, so when a shape ie a curve is detected it is matched against other pictures. I cant really explain it, but a visual representation would be better.

  • Спасибо, блять, все так пиздец как понятно стало. Заебись просто

  • Use this kind of reversed image search to confront Facebook-emoes who upload pictures and claim to be in them.

  • Yawning over stupid lies...Google search by image actually searches first by the name of the jpeg file, change the name and then do search by image....

"No other results found" pops up.

Guess google loves the word "algorithm" a lot to keep throwing it again and again.

  • I've noticed that sometimes small black bars confuse the algorithm. In those rare cases TinEye manages to find results.

  • Dies it use the same algorithm as Google Goggles?

  • here i am

  • is that bridge in bristol?

  • yeah, you sound like an intelligent person who only can quote movies like American pie

  • Awe, a little bit of pride kicking in that such a large American corp use a landmark (The Clifton Suspension Bridge) in the demo local to me in Bristol, UK. nice one :o)

  • @rollocla Well youtube doesnt allow full nudety so they really couldnt show what us americans would really use this for.

  • very good my link works now so easy lol lol ww autoeasymoney com

  • I've heard that if you say "porn" on one of the Google's uploads on youtube you'll get thumbs up.

  • How is search by image works? You just upload an image, next it goes to search engine, finally you get results. Wow, I have no ideas before watching this. Thanks for sharing

  • Looks like people will stop using tineye

    Poor tineye :(

  • why is it so much fun to watch googles videos?

  • useful ~ thx

  • Google is a SEARCH engine. The next logical step would be to be able to search by images. I'm quite surprised they didn't do this earlier. Why are people getting all pissed?

  • @Hinduspy tineye does it... at least for two years now

  • tineye still works better, and finds more results

  • 28 noobs don't know what a backend is.

  • @largferg

Tineye was never the original reverse image search. Did Facebook pay Myspace when they took their entire audience sending the once prominent company to it's knees? Was Myspace even the original social network?

It's called progression. If someone finds a cure for AIDS should they reimburse the companies who make medication to help remedy it?

  • @BaillieMinecraft

Well formulated argument that makes sense, I'll have to agree with you since you have a rather good point. I was wrong.

  • Every time I search something on Google images, porn pops up.

  • Sounds like a blatant copy of Tineye, and they didn't purchase the company to my knowledge. Not like Google at all.

  • Google is amazing!

  • this service represents very proffitable opportunities for a start-up, if anyones is interested in exploring its potential send me a pvt messsage.

  • @google sub?

  • Sfdjh

  • Felt a need to say, I think this is a good idea. I have bagged on google quite a bit and I honestly never feel the need to say when I think google has done something good. So to show I don't hate everything google does, I wanted to say, this is a cool idea and what I would expect from a company like google used to be.

An idea in the right direction.

  • @FreeMeFromG

you hate Google, but you are on youtube.

    I dont get that

  • @Benzor1001 I loved what google and you tube was and started out as, as of late, I don't like the way google has been going about their business.

Google being as BIG as it is, it's hard not to use it. I guess I could use vimeo but it doesn't have the numbers.

This is what is dangerous about google these days, it could get to a point where they are too intertwined in all our lives, we're almost at that point already.

    Hope that clears it up.

  • @FreeMeFromG Was wondering what you were talking about, till I saw your page... smh

  • Shitty quality. Very shitty.

  • To all non-technical Guys here,

This is most comprehensive video ive seen ever.

Actually an image is simply a matrix(Rows n columns, not movie)

of pixels, each pixel can have color values for RED GREN n BLUE

form 0 t0 255, so by separating these we can apply PATTERN MATCHING Algorithms to find similar content(image) on web.

    Simple, isn't it?

  • This video is so lame.. It is so obvious, can we get more details please..

  • well that was short

  • quaaary lol

  • but i want information about the image, not just a bilion copy's of it

    :/

  • That must be one hell of an algorithm :O

I'd say "Nice work, Google." But despite the amazing technology... Is uploading an image to search really more efficient, opposed to typing in your request?

  • @dodgersrcool Yup. Work really well to find better version of an image.

  • tineye.com

  • Est ce que ça sera plus performant que tineye reverse image ?

Car ce site est deja bien pour retrouver les images sur le web :)

  • Oh now I understand! It analyzes the image!

  • @voop556 The thing is, you might want to discover new things that are too complicated to create a query for, or, you might not exactly know what you are searching for.

  • I wonder what the algorithm looks like

  • google is great!!! i was looking for such a thing for ages

  • anyone else always have this video at the top of when viewing your subscriptions tab?!

  • I rather use tineye.

  • GOOGLE: MAKE A GOOGLE+ APP FOR IPAD PLEASE :D

  • short and sweet xD

  • Short, but helpful :)

  • *With magic.

  • Es buenisimo!!!

  • That video tells us a bunch of nothing.

  • lol talking about privacy..i swear they more about us than ourselves..plus it is different people per second lol...(talking about independent advertisers lol)

  • Does voice work yet? Is it just US? I haven't seen it yet.

  • so... this is how search by image works?

It looks at your photo and tries to find matching ones..... 22sec of pure technology

  • So, it's Tineye.

  • another innovation from the Big G... but I must say that the video is lame.

  • Tineye is much better

  • i dont get it.

  • Blocked by Google.

  • I really don't get why you would make this video. Captain Obvious would be proud.

  • [Insert troll comment]

  • awesome!

  • Maybe just a bit more than a 22 second video would have been good. No more info???

  • @moonkittynet it's google, what do you think ? Do you think they will reveal their source code ?

  • awesome!

  • Yes, But will it BLEND!!!!!!!

  • So like tineye except Google's? Been there done that.

  • cool♥

  • Elementary, my dear Watson.

  • Woot

  • yay xD the internet still is for PORN xD just drag in some girl and youll get all of her photos xD

  • Amazing! That's great! :D

  • Fucking magnets

  • Cool

  • I dont want my "query" to be sent into your "backend"

  • So youre telling me ancient rome has hot emo girls??

  • Anyone else think this would be perfect for porn?

  • @Martyj2009 any one else already use this for porn?

  • @calwhat Yea I tried a few images. It really sucks for porn :( Needs more work.

  • @Martyj2009 I believe we have found our new Google CEO.

  • @Martyj2009

Its very hard to guess whether you are techie or not!

I mean sometime if we try to explain everything the person may get irritate and say "Come on, I am not Nerd." :)

  • @Photon98 I do have an AAS in Computer Science so you decide.

  • @Martyj2009

Actually i gave you thumbs up.

(ive heard similar funny comment on Yahoo answers, thanks for reminding me :) )

  • @Martyj2009 Yup, they merely have to add "curves" as a distinctive feature :D

  • i've tried abuot a hundred pictures.... everytime google gives me hundreds of others that do not look anything like mine.... i have a green shirt on in one so all of the results are people with green in their images....

  • Search by image is awesome. Search by voice is good too.

  • in Soviet Russia, images searches you

  • cmon this is some of the most complicated stuff you can do in CS and you do a 22 secs video ?

  • Wtf google stop dividing by zero god damnit!

  • @SnapShotOfASoul - so, you like having long, off-topic conversations with totally random people you don't know at all? Me too! Actally, what was this vid about? I'm a bit too off-topic.

  • Oooh now i get it

  • It's as easy as that.

  • So in other words, they are saying "When you enter an image we search it for you" - I thought I would get a technical explanation :(

  • Hey Google Puedo Poner sus videos en mi Canal?

  • GOOGLE SOUND SEARCH ???

  • wasn't it obvious?

  • Don't be jerks, ok?

  • It doesn't work well, I tried using a picture of a giraffe and the similar images were of people, horses, outdoor pictures that were similar in color, but there were no giraffes in the similar images. If they can't match a giraffe this thing will be useless for finding good porn, not that I would use it that way or anything...

  • Reminds me of tineye

  • someone is going to use this for looking up porn

  • DO NOT BE EVIL!!

  • DuckDuckGo is a better search engine (y)

  • @Sandman267

Nothing beats Google , i'm sorry bro

  • search by image? CAN HAZ API!?!?!?

  • I love google ^^

  • Not very accurate though :l

  • Wait WHAT???

  • I love it when I dip my headset microphone into my meal.

  • @KrisTiasMusic guilty as well

  • ...is sent to our backends.

  • It's pronounced QUEEREY. Not "qwereeey". Learn ENGLISH :)

  • @SnapshotOfASoul British people pronounce it "caw" instead of "car" but they spoke English before the US existed, don't be so quick to judge.

  • @hcortens I'm not American. I'm Canadian. And she wasn't British anyways.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul oh look! there goes the point..idiot.

  • @hcortens I'm no idiot - I'm in university level English and I'm just turning 16. I've had many teachers and professors and they all pronounced it Queerey. "Qwereeey" isn't even the correct way to say it in the dictionary I use.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul lmfao. cool story bro

  • @hcortens No problem. Enjoy your day.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul lulz you too university english guy

  • @hcortens *girl.

  • @hcortens Nope, sorry, can't help you there. 100% female.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul g.i.r.l = guy in real life

  • @SnapshotOfASoul oh wow melissa, you were right you are a girl. but you're not good looking :\ maybe get contacts or something and lose a few pounds

  • @hcortens I can't get contacts because of my astigmatism (and why the fuck would I want to stick something in my eye anyways) and I do have a genetic disorder that makes me unable to lose weight properly, so yeah, thanks for practising what you preach. Loser. :)

  • @SnapshotOfASoul oops i guess i struck a chord with you

  • @hcortens Not really. :) I'm too busy filming in Sims 2 and watching Degrassi to really put much thought into this discussion.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul mmhm right.

  • @hcortens Not even joking. Pay attention for my latest The Hundreds episode coming soon :) Who knows, you may enjoy it.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul, I think this video is getting a lot of of off topic arguments. This seems like a cool Google feature. Not trying to argue, but people pronounce words differently in different parts of the world. Go to merriam-'s website and you see that they have query pronounced both ways. Webster has a nice little audio samples. I hope this helps.

  • @phatcartoon I don't use Webster's Dictionary (I have a very old Australian one from 1960 and a newer one that was given to me in school, but both aren't Webster's) but in some parts of the world I acknowledge that they may pronounce it that way. But for her accent she's doing it wrong. :) I'm an English language Nazi, sue me :P

  • @SnapshotOfASoul If I could sue all the English Nazis of the world I would. Nazis are always in the wrong; no matter the kind. In college I had two English professors that seem to have two different views on everything, but both always thought they were right. They use to drive me nuts. How do you know her accent is wrong? If she is from the States it can vary from state to state. haha! (just giving you a hard time). . . .Life is too short, don't let the little things get to you.

  • @phatcartoon Meh, I was just bored to begin with. :P I don't think I'm totally right on everything but just from experience and written fact I've been led to believe one way.

  • @SnapshotOfASoul Werd! (and, yes that's how I spell word) . . I'm bored, too. Just killing time before work. ;)

  • @phatcartoon Just killing time watching Degrassi and waiting for male voice actors.

  • So basically it's an exact copy of Tineye that has existed for over 12 years now? So innovative!

  • @GilvaSunner How else would they do it though? They can't really change one of the easiest ways to do it.

  • @GGReactors I know, but they could have incorporated this about 10 year ago.

  • @GilvaSunner Ah, yeah true. But I guess maybe they've been trying to optimize it. You have to think about their servers. If they don't have enough of them and enough of everything, it would go slower, and more people would complain.

  • how about if you give some thought on 'how to control my independent ad advertisers' lol..i must say they are out of control for sure ..

  • that was a little short... well it sounds great!

  • bullshit

  • It's fine'n'all, but istead of inventing new thing that barely anyone will use, maybe fixing the damn Youtube search wont be too big a thing to ask ?

  • facebook got crushed

    now tineye got crushed

  • its pretty neat

  • thanks google!just take care of our privacy and we will love you!

  • They should make a Youtube extension so i can find my videos easier, and acces sub box

  • Seems to be just like Tineye dot com?

I wonder if google will do this better :)

  • @Sagittarius22NL It is better, trust me I used Tineye for ages but this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better

  • @Sagittarius22NL it IS better than tineye. it returns a lot more results ... can't say the same about speed though

  • Google freak

  • i will trust google my ssn

  • Ohhhhhhhhhh... I get it now. I thought it was powered by magnets.

  • @djduncs132 =))) that was funny

  • @djduncs132 It is powered by magnets!!! NOOB! :p

  • @djduncs132 fucking magnets! How do they work?? xD

  • @djduncs132 But how do they work?

  • fhdsyxhfyx

  • sweet

  • @ArduinoMan101 كل زق

  • You can get chrome extension for this. Its called

Search by Image (by Google) - Version: 1.0.0
