  • Very good. Which strings do you use ? Also. is this open g tuning ?

    Cheers.

  • i have enjoyed that very much..

  • hi, great cover man.

can you tell me why you bought a hand-made guitar this expensive? is its tone better than famous brands' high-end guitars or does it look more beautiful?

as much as I love guitar (although I have learned just for 1.5 years) I still can't understand there still are guitars that cost so much like this :P

  • @toilabuiducanh Well, these guitars were a lot less expensive back then. (we're talking almost 7 years ago).

But even then, it was more than say a Martin. And it was worth it, though we're talking Law of Diminishing Returns now.

  • can you tell me which strings (size and brand) that ryan uses on this model?

    thanks,

  • @lespaul49 Kevin uses his own Ryan strings (made by d'addario) in a True Medium gauge.

The 1st, 2nd, and 6th strings are medium gauge and the inside strings 3-5 are from a light gauge

  • @JazzInc

    very enlightening thanks so much

  • What a wonderful tuition~! Last time in Korea, I wanted to play this song. But at that time, I don't have extra time..T.T, Now I'm in Malaysia, I have Enogh time ^^...First I'll buy a new guitar, and as I see this video clip, I learn this song. Very good ~! ^^

  • Very nice playing and nice sound.

  • The Ryan sure is nice. Have you had a chance to play an Olson or a Charis?

  • @faithandpractice Thanks. Well, only an olson and I preferred the Ryan

  • Hey mate, what is the tuning on the guitar?

    Cheers!

    Murphy

  • Hi!

    That's standard tuning

  • great job man , very rich sound from your guitar ;) the song is of course beautiful..

check out Stay Close To Me WITH LYRICS by me - watch?v=8_FyXIC5ma4

  • Your guitar's sound is really nice!. I like playing this song too!. It's so sentimental.

You can check my video back and leave some comments. I've just posted it few days ago.

  • hey where do you learn TE songs? Do you use the Tommy Emmanuel Tab site?

  • Some by ear, some from the wonderful TE tabbooks from Mel Bay

  • Really nice! I'm off to find me some tabs!

    Thank-you!

  • In the opening, on the beginning chord, why do you do the light up stroke with your thumb pick? In my humble opinion, I think it sounds much softer by just using your finger.

Even with that, you play this really wonderfully man, great job and God Bless!

  • I use the thumb pick because it fattens up the bass and I like the 'zjing' you get when you lightly strum with a pick. I do agree that the song is better suited for bare fingers.

    and thanks

  • Oh no, lol, I totally agree with ya, I much more prefer a thumb pick or real pick, it gives a whole lot more palm control. Plus, I'm not good enough for bare fingers. But I simply just meant on that first chord I was talking about. That up stroke, I think it sounds alot sweeter if you use one of your fingers on that part. That's all I meant, but it's still just my humble opinion.

    God Bless!

  • Te gek.

  • Well done man! did yourself proud, beautiful tune.

  • You are the man. Don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise :)

  • my version !!

  • TUTORIAL PLEASE! =)

  • I bet by the time you read this, you will have the tune down pat. You're soooo close.

Man, I wish i could play it.

  • beautifully played. this is one of my favorite songs by him.

  • Superb mate, I love playing this tune - but you give it something that I can't quite get. Its beautiful!

  • this is a good guitar player which means when someone leaves a comment on mistakes.. He is probably greatfull... personally I wish people were more honest and would critique me more!

  • Yes, your guitar sounds very nice...and your playing is just as nice. Commenters who give you crap about "mistakes" should put their fingerpicking where their mouth is. Not many can play as well as you...not me certainly, but I loved listening to you taking on a beautiful song and playing it so well! Great work...I loved it!

  • well said!

  • Ditto

  • great sound your guitar produced. =) well done, good guitar playing =)

  • Emotional performance, fantastic Ryan guitar.

  • That sounded really nice. The only mistakes I even heard was a couple fret buzzes really. Real minor. Beautiful song. If I had an acoustic I'd learn it in a heart beat.

  • great rendition

  • hey! thats some really good guitar playing

  • Nicely played, beautiful tune, great sounding guitar, just like all your videos. Enjoy listening to you.

  • there's some mistakes, but the song is played well, i think u should better, if u have this amazingly "cheep" guitar! lol U should practice more!

  • Very nice! If you have a minute, check Mathew Smith(Rodrigeus). There's another post there for Padre. Hope you like it. Thankyou.

  • Nice sounding guitar wow good work!

  • absolutely beautiful...thanks for the post..

  • this genre is called "trova" you can search something here in youtube of this genre, search this tags: "fernando delgadillo" "silvio rodriguez quien fuera" you wont be disappointed

  • Great Player.I like this arrangements.Thank you

  • Heya Jazzinc, again, a very nice job indeed. This time you realy personalized it a lot. As from your other videos, you normaly play every note exactly as TE. So this arrangement is special. I have to say that I had to listen to it several times, as i am so used to the original version. So after listening to this one several times (and again!): its very nicely put: WELL DONE.

  • Thanks Qpidon. I haven't listened to the other one in a long while, so I couldn't even tell you the differences, except that I don't use a capo.
