Type 1 diabetes definitely does need to be recognized more & education about it presented. I NEVER dreamed MY child would be one.

my son was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes...we thought it was a virus but he was in dka....spent 4 days in hospital came home july 4th..our lives are forever changed...I'm so thankful we caught it in time....but still scared...sorry for the loss of your precious little boy ♥

I cried watching your video. Not only because I feel for your loss, but because I, and my family, have been through similar instances, ourselves. I can't tell you how many times I've been in DKA..Hundreds, to put it lightly (if that's possible). I've been in comas, had seizures, and had a doctor tell my parents I 'wasn't going to make it' before. Just as they do with me at the internist's office, they need to check blood sugar at the PED's office, at the start of EACH VISIT.What can I do to help
