I loved The Cars music since I was around 8 years old. I'm 39 now and still love their music. I wish Ben and the gang were still around making excellent music today, however, what has been done will always live in my heart. Thank you Ben. RIP and keep on rocking in Heaven.
I visited his resting place because he is only an hour away here in Ohio, He was so classy he only has a humble grave marker with a guitar engraved in it. So sad really, life is so unfair and cruel sometimes.
My brother-in-law passed away from the same dreaded illness, Pancreatic cancer. It happened so fast ( 4 months after diagnosis) I wasn't able to properly say goodbye. Ben was a superb musician and an wonderful person to boot. I miss both of them so much.
Even though I never met or knew Benjamin Orr personally, I feel a deep connection with him personally. It's been 11 years since he passed away this October. His death still deeply saddens me to this day. The Cars' & Benjamin's solo music was refreshing, & his presence is deeply missed.
