Windows XP change everything. for many years from 95 to 2000, Microsoft still uses the same interface. And then XP comes, people love it until now. First time I touch the computer is when I was 4 years old and the OS is Windows XP
Mac os x just blew the look of windows xp out of the water and then it took Microsoft 6 years to make vista which sucked but had the glossy look of os x
XP was released earlier than it's scheduled 2002 release so to compete with the upcoming Mac OS X. But that made the first XP's very buggy. Such as Wireless connections dropping all the time. Only when SP2 was released did most of the bugs get ironed out. Though, OS X was waaay more beautiful than XP because of the streamlined Aqua UI and the translucent dock , instead of XP's huge ugly green start button. And all these UI was released "Long before Longhorn(Vista) ) ;-)
xp was a very good operating system, i stopped using it about 3 months ago when i got a new pc and installed windows 7
i can't go back to xp now though as windows 7 is one of the best OS Microsoft or any company has made to date so far
p.s probably going to sell my desktop for a laptop in the next 3-4 months for my coursework, desktop pc's are outdated now anyway's it's all about tablet's now which is good
LOL, right because paying $30 for an upgrade that is always a free update via Service on Windows is smart? Or that open source software (like Open Office) does just as much as the software that costs cash and is how Linux is so large?
it does nowhere near as much as office 2000 or office XP.
that and it's almost a complete copy of the things that it does have. also, than? it's thEn.. god, why does everyone say then and than mixed up? it's like they insist on using the opposite just to annoy absolutely everyone ever.
Wow, are you that absent minded? It has the EXACT same features and has recognition from JAVA for OPEN SOURCE DEVELOPMENT. Of course it has the same features, it's so you don't have to waste $75 on Office.
lol I'm not talking about it's freaking "java coding C++ application compatible certified code" similarities or whatever.. I'm talking about general features, the buttons aren't in the same spots, it doesn't have the user-friendly layout that microsoft office has, or if it does you have to wade through millions of options to get to it. I have open office and it is not the same as microsoft office.
not true, there are some things it simply cannot do in relation to MS office. It's not user friendly, it doesn't have the useable interface that can be easilly figured out by, say, an elderly person who needs it for simple tasks and it doesn't have that page layout that I want, it has just a blank white screen with borders.. that's stupid. why not just make it a page-sized white space to write on? it gives it some scale.
XP launched in October of 2001, which was shortly after the 9/11 tragedy. The original slogan was meant to be "you can fly," but it was changed for that reason.
but did it get released not that long ago? when the twin towers got attacked? wow, I didn't know I was still using windows 98 when the twin towers came down O_O
@HaywardJack If you check the XP screen savers and change to "3D Flying Objects", go to "Settings", change the "Style" to "Textured Flag" leave it default and OK, preview the screen saver and you have your answer :)

no, you know its true, there is NO professional app for video editing under windows, no one relies on it for real video editing jobs
feikedoi 2 years ago
No, you are wrong. Source Forge has TONS of free video editing software tailored for WINDOWS.
MisterHougy 2 years ago
I said PRO apps, nobody relies seriously on free windows video editing solutions. Pros use Macs. period.
feikedoi 2 years ago
Adobe Premiere Pro runs on Windows. :D
But I have to agree, Video and photography professionals use Macs. Serious programmers use *nix or Windows.

Whoop dee doo, and you still get a fully capable office suite for $0.00 and is compatible with MS Office in every way.
Of course it isn't like MS office, because it ISNT MS office.

and btw I know office 2007 in particular sucks
