this is the episode that got me most interested in doctor who, my friend told it to me and my other friends at a sleepover as a ghost story :) i still have to see the whole thing
1) "Mirror Hack" : set up mirrors in front of all the statues so they can't unfreeze, lest they look at themselves and refreeze
2) Alternate eye winking in rapid succession. Left, right, repeat.
3) "You can't kill a stone." So... obtain submachine gun (preferably kiparis w/ rapid fire attachment and sleight of hand pro), get an idea of where the statues are, and as soon as you turn your back, unload like fifty rounds behind you, killing the "statue" as soon as it unfreezes.
4) "Reverse Pack-a-punch" : Attract a large number of statues to your exact location. When they're all swarmed around you, spin in circles (set your sensitivity to 10) and look at them all as you spin. Then slowly, whilst spinning, back away and out of the mob of statues so that if they try unfreezing, chances are, most or all of them will be looking at one another.
5) Obtain laptop. If all else fails... search "roshi staring at camera" and
the weeping angels are basically the complete opposite of Medusa. you can't look at Medusa even for a second, and you have to keep looking at a weeping angel, and don't blink.
what a coincidence the weeping angels are statues though...medusa was famous for turning people to stone...:)

OK. One thing I can say for sure, is the writer had imagination. Writing time travel is a very DIFFICULT subject. There can be so many loop holes! But, the idea if status coming to life? Running after you when you don't see them? Throwing you into the past? Devising a way to communicate to the present in the form of a video? That's brillant. Everytime I write it...I can always come up with something that doesn't work. That's the problem with time travel...
You can't kill a stone, but you can smash it. So what would happen if you smashed a Weeping Angel? Would reassemble itself, turn into many tiny Angels or just continue living as gravel?

When you destoy it completetly... you still have to look in it's eyes to make sure it's dead. But it's not! That's the thing. As long as it's stone...it survives. From what I remembered of the episode, they don't actually kill you, right? The creatures actually knew how long you had for your remaining life. So, you were thrown back in time so that the end of your life was the exact point when you left. i.e, you had 24 years 256 days 17 hours 3 minutes and 2 seconds of life remaining. You get thrown back that exact amount of time and die at the exact point in time when you left. Right?

@jwalk126 Here's my theory, and this goes under the assumption that they knows what blindness even is. The quantum lock is an instinct, and like all instincts, you have limited control over it. So even if blind, as long as you "stare" at it, you should be safe. I believe even with glass eyes, you can bluff the weeping angels. However, as I've seen with the recent episode, if you make it obvious of your blindness (i.e. stumble around), the angels will call your bluff, and you're screwed.

If they figure out that they aren't being seen however, they'll move. They can even exist in a half-stone, half moving fashion, as seen int he episode Flesh and Stone

But the angles didn't notice she wasn't seeing, once she tripped, they noticed she was blind and came after her, watch the episodes Time of Angles/Flesh and stone and you'll see.

the "can't be seen by any living creature" thing never made sense to me? To me, the angels would never be able to move, as there are thousands of bugs and other small creatures that could see them at any time

At the end of the episode, the angels gather around the Tardis as it disappaers, effectively making the angels look at each other thus locking them permanentely. Brilliant move...

the "can't be seen by any living creature" thing never made sense to me? To me, the angels would never be able to move, as there are thousands of bugs and other small creatures that could see them at any time

lol . . . I know, I always wondered about that. I can imagine a bug just sitting on the back of one of the angels when they've moved, the bug would be clinging on for its life!! And the bug might have a heart attack. :D

This thing scared the $h!t outta me first time I saw it. Oddly, at the same time I was humored. I guess I just can't take the english seriously. XD Imagine if the Statue of Liberty was like this. Also, doesn't this remind you of a boo from the Mario games? If you turn away from it, it'll get closer. Good thing is you can still blink. XD

I cannot be the only person who sat through this episode going, "Just close one eyes at a time!" If you can't wink, then you can still use your fingers to make sure one eyes is always open. xDD Did anyone else think of this?!
