I can't get 4f powder around here for a priming pan, but I've heard I can use 3f or that pyrodex pistol stuff. Is that true? I want the flintlock version but I have to check with my range first.
I just downloaded the manual. That's what lymans recommends and says 3F can be substituted for 4F in the pan, and the pyrodex pistol stuff is the equivalent of 3F. It says use pyrodex 2f to push the projectile, 3F for the pan obviously.
Scotty, what kind of BP are you loading? True BP or a substitute? I'm going to get one of these soon since I have a burning desire to hunt with one.
