SterlingSolomon: HD-DVD is 1080p x 1900: Standard DVD 480 x 720. Standard definition PALES unbelievably. It's 6 times the picture quality. It's a bigger jumpt than from VHS to Standard DVD. Next month you'll be able to buy in for only $400. Fuck blu-ray, they fucking suck. their picture sux and no interactivity liek HD DVD
You are totally right. Toshiba is pushing for HD-DVD. Plus Toshiba crated the DLP technology, perfecting HDTVs. If they did this, i think people should see that HD-DVD is better than Sony's blu-ray.

HD DVD is really cool, especially since they are releasing hybrid discs, so even if you don't have an HD DVD player you can still build up an HD library. I also like how the HD DVD comes with ALL the special features that the standard DVD has. How come Blu-ray has released several titles with JUST the movie and not the special features included on regular DVD?
1080i VS 1080p is a moot point so long as your 1080p display has a good deinterlacer. By the time you're getting a picture from your display, its true 1080p. HD-DVD looks terrific on 720 and 768 display resolutions as well. The difference in visual and sound quality is just too stupid for words
I certainly believe that these format wars are interesting right now. I find that HD-DVD has more DVD titles out there than Blue-ray. HD-DVD's only diffrence between this and the Blue Ray player is the 1080P. I certainly can do without 1080p since my TV doesn't support it..
Yeah, but trust me 1080i with HDMI looks like 1080p on my TV. And have you heard of the new HD-XE1 in Europe? It has gold plated HDMI 1080p. And it's still "cheaper" then Blow Ray. Ouch!!!!
I saw a demo at Walmart, but I wasn't sure wether to get the Toshiba or the RCA I found out they are both the same minus some cosmetic changes. Oh well, I kinda liked the RCA better and it's, soooooooo nice. HD DVD ALL THE WAY BITCHES!!!!!!
