  • @abc1000001 As a young man, " john John" (John Williams III) joined the Air Force, and was stationed at Laughlin AFB in Texas. In 1998, Williams and his wife resided in San Antonio with their two children, and was working on establishing himself as a Tejano singer, following in his parents entertainment footsteps (his mother was a jazz singer, and his father was a bassist for Doc Severinsen's Tonight Show band)

Information is thanks to muppet wiki

  • I bet this kid didnt really know he was being filmed I mean he probably thought it was all real right? Because I mean this kind of acting is just stuff you cant do especially someone so young its too natural and real but I mean good actors I'm sure could do it but yeah.

  • I think little kids just aren't self-conscious around cameras like adults are. He's not really acting, he's just hanging with Grover.

  • True that Notad00d

  • Oh man, I miss this stuff.

  • I always looked forward to all the John John clips when I was a kid.

  • I remember seeing this a loonnng time ago when I was in preschool. Sesame Street without question was and is the most influential kids show of alltime. They taught and entertained kids at the same time and saved parents from having to moniter what was on tv because it was so childfriendly

  • HAHAHAHAHAHHA lmao

    hes all like YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAA ONEEE!

  • at 0:22, it sounds like Grover is saying: "Uh, John John? That's not really f**king backwards."

  • John Joh nis your teacher...wow...I am a teacher also...Social Studies...I remembere they brought him back for one of the anniversaries and he was in the Military at the time...Air Force I think.

  • He's a physician now!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • sweet how he screams 'Yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaahhhhhhhh! Oneeeeeeeeeee!'

I love how grover goes sev-en. so sweet.

  • The boy is so adorable even more than Grover :)

  • Sesame street always made me smile. Not like the crap kids shows they have now.

  • I can't believe it.. I remember watching this on TV. I must have been 3 or 4. I'm so old now. :)

  • I wonder whatever happened to the kids that were featured on Sesame Street?? It would be so cool to know where they are now and what they look like too. John-John was so cute. I remember watching this clip when it was on the air.

  • As of 1988, johnJohn was in the Air Force. He made an encore appearance on a Sesame Street reunion special where he counted to 20 with Herry Monster.

  • His real name is John Williams. He looked quite handsome in his uniform, and it was nice to see him reunite with one of the monsters he encountered.

  • IM Sorry it is not John Williams ... it is John Randall...hes my teacher now...MATH!!!

  • It's John Williams. Search Youtube for "Sesame Street: 20 Years and Still Counting - Part 4" and skip ahead to 5:00 or 5:15. It's a great John John bit, and toward the end you meet John John as an adult in 1989 or so. He identifies himself as John Williams.

  • lol love it

  • I loooved john-john!!! he was the man!

  • I grew up watching Grover and John-John. He was even in the AF for a time while I was in. I am sure he is somewhere happy that we can still keep him imortalized along with our other favorites from Sesame Street. Go John-John!!

  • It's soooo cute how it seems like he's proud of grover because he's just taught grover how to count backwards to one. And that squeak.... toooo cute!!

  • yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

  • uhhh i dont know....... YEAH 1 YEAH!!!!!!! wow things have changed in children since then

  • hahaha this is so cool

  • I loved when he came on the show. TOO CUTE!!! Do they correct kids on that show these days??

  • I remember seeing this boy on Sesame Street when I was a kid in the 1970's. The strange thing is that he looked just like me and it was weird seeing someone who looked like me on TV. Cute kid. I'm 36 now and I didn't turn out bad either. I'm sure he's didn't and is probably now married with kids.

  • Last time I saw him on TV (1988), he was in an Air Force uniform.

  • He iz soooooooo adorable! :]

  • John John and Shola and all those kids that got to hang out with the SS Muppets are the luckiest kids ever.

  • Yeah "one" yeah :))) i loved the end of this video

  • OOOOhhh :-) the squeak is so kuddly ^^ I love john john

  • HOW ADORABLE!! ^_^

  • is he david's kid? looks like david or gordon! I met gordon in Pittsburgh circa 1986 and told him I remember him having an afro and he laughed so hard and said that WAS a long time ago! Gordon RIP!

    John John's a pimp!

  • who was david?

  • Wow, what a difference the 3 years between our ages makes.

David was a character from 1971 to 1989. He started out as a young, cool, carefree kind of guy who was studying to be a lawyer and worked in Mr. Hooper's store. He also dated Maria for many years. When Mr. Hooper died, David inherited the store, and ran it for a few years until the character "moved to his grandmother's farm." In reality, the actor was suffering a mental and physical breakdown and left. He died in 1990.

  • If you search for "Sesame Street" and "David" you'll find a bunch of clips with him. A good one is the original version of "What's The Name of That Song?"

Incidentally, my parents used to know the actor (Northern Calloway), in the early '70s when they were all in the same acting class in New York. (When I was a kid it was from them that I heard that "David" had died. Suddenly the whole "moved to his grandmother's farm" thing made sense.)

  • so cute! I like it when John John squeaks at the end!

  • John John makes me wish I was a kid again.

    :-)

  • Couldn't agree with you more

  • Ditto!!! He is so cute, why can't I be that small again!

  • Actually he's about 31 now. He was our neighbor in VA. Love you, John!

  • Maybe a different John Williams, then? John-John of sesame street was already performing on the street (and getting press) in '74. He's over 35 years old now. Born circa 1970.

  • I just showed this to my 16 year old daughter. She loved it. I told her John John was probably about 40 now. He was about 4 when I was 4. (smile)

  • Cute

  • Been waiting and waiting for John John clips!! I'm not sure there's ever been a cuter kid!

    Thanks for posting!!

  • John-John is the greatest kid to ever appear on Sesame Street.

  • John John!!!! :-)

  • ONE, YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • I think this one and the one where John John counts with Herry ("FOURTEEEEEEEN!!!!") are my two favorite John John clips!

It's great when he says he wants to count backwards but then counts forwards! And the excited way he says, "Yeah one! Yayyyy!" is what clinches it as one of my all time favorite clips of his.
