@aramhampson You are entitled to your opinion. No need to be rude. You can always just watch and critique the content and turn off the sound. Best wishes to you.
Dear OP, you ought to check out the writings of Gayatri Spivak, if you haven't already. She deals with the exact problems you're getting at from a third-world feminist perspective. Very dense writing though, likes psychoanlalysis and Derrida.
I come from New Zealand where there is virtually no real primary or seccondary education on colonial issues (we could all do with a good history lesson thats for sure). For europeans (were called Pakeha here) university can be quite eye opening. Thanks for the heads up on some of the authors especially, it can be hard for us crackers to find good material from outside our bubble.
Yes, a survey of literature is "like plowing the ocean." Are you afraid of "overcrowded" areas? Making a name for myself--how? What's your point about no shortage of classes?--this is not a class. Could you rephrase your confusing question about "the point of putting "non-critical theory" next to Hegel anyway?" What is "liberal guilt granted tenure"?--please rewrite that sentence. Oh, music is a very personal preference--I respect your view.
This seems like plowing the ocean. "Post-colonial" theory is simply a way to make a name for yourself in a universe that is thoroughly overcrowded. There is no shortage of classes available in Chinese critical theory or Indo-Tibetan phenomenology. What is the point of putting "non-critical theory" next to Hegel anyway? What does that accomplish other than pushing you closer to some liberal guilt granted tenure at some college somewhere? Minus points for godawful folk song.
fuck this noise, why do so many youtube videos have to blast some stupid music to fill the space? LAME

Please rewrite your question because I don't understand your point: "What is the point of putting "non-critical theory" next to Hegel anyway?"
