  • oooohhhhh i know the problem matthew,i live in mexico & guess what THERE'S NOT AVAILBLE INDIE GAMES IN MEXICOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i'm gonna do is live n united states DAMN YOU XBOX LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @erickbond008 :( that's too bad

  • @erickbond008 Ask someone in United States to make you an account and recover it... however, you will need an American Credit card to buy points (because they are region locked).

Alternatively buy points from Online retailerss (they send you the code)

How do I know? I have both Mexican and Americans accounts... I moved to USA 3 years ago...

  • Then why put for "multiplayer join mid game" as one of the tips when you start the game, if its only co-op. -__-. ...

  • @LoCoChUzZ Co-op is multiplayer and vice versa. Multiplayer doesn't mean online (Xbox LIVE) multiplayer and co-op doesn't mean local multiplayer... you are confusing the two terms to mean something they do not!

  • @matthewdoucette Ahh I Get It Now, Do you think in future games that you guys are planning to make are going to have online multiplayer?

  • @LoCoChUzZ We wish to, but it greatly increases the complexity of the game. Likely our first XBLA title will not have it, and hopefully we can put it in afterwards.

  • Comment removed

  • @LoCoChUzZ You have to invite them over to your living room... there's no online co-op!

  • Holy crap that was intense!

I'm not sure how the life system works on this, is there a set number of hits you can take, are the colours of the projectiles hitting you important?

It's not exactly clear, since I notice both of you getting clipped a few times but it either doesn't seem to do anything in some cases, but it does in others.

  • @MrFivefivefivesix Only the small box in the center of your ship can be hit. Watch it again and see if it makes sense to you with this knowledge! Let me know!

  • @matthewdoucette Oh, now I see. So it's that little bit INSIDE the coloured shapes that get destroyed, not the coloured parts themselves. That makes more sense.

  • @MrFivefivefivesix Yup, that part is basically the hitbox of the fighters

  • i want this for pc/ps3

  • @eXjeetzZ We'll hopefully port it to both! It's our wish, but not a certainty (depends on business and money)!

  • @matthewdoucette i can pay 15$ for this or more

  • @matthewdoucette I can pay upto 20$ MAX but if you do put this on both console , i mean like you can play with a person using xbox and the other person using ps3 then i m willing to pay 30-35$

  • @eXjeetzZ It's unlikely that we will have online play if we take it to XBLA and PSN and Steam... that's a lot of work for a first time big-deal game for a two man studio. Online might have to wait for the sequel if we make money enough to survive.

  • @eXjeetzZ Thanks so much for the figures and feedback though. Very nice!

  • i want this for pc!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The game can be download in your XBOX360?

because i try to found the game in the console & i didn´t found it & i don´t have enough age to buy in the XBOX LIVE :(

  • @erickbond008 how old are you? it can be downloaded to your xbox from xbox . com too. go to xona . com and click games and go to score rush and click download and sign into xbox . com with your profile and download it. hit me up at xona . com/contact . html if you need more help.

  • @matthewdoucette my age is 14,in may 3 now is 15 (my birthday) & i don't have enough age to buy in the marketplace -_- only in my xbox360 console

  • @erickbond008 Can you buy any indie games, or is it just Score Rush? I'm not sure how the age thing works. These indie games have no ratings, so maybe you are locked out.

  • Looks pretty damn awsome! Although there isnt really much difficulty in it for my taste. I'd better stick to Japanese Shoot 'em ups XD They make those things INTENSE! For example, you could take Raiden IV or this as intense shooters, but when you look at Mushihimesama Futari, you HAVE to be GOD to not die even just once in one playthrough! It's mostly like dodging rain! And the torture is extremely depressing! You could just quit on your first try! XP

  • @jonrskitlez Isn't much difficulty? Have you tried Godlike mode? I don't think anyone has beat it, and in fact I think only two people in the world have been able to unlock it. I'm one of them. I have Futari 1.5 and it like other Cave shooters (I have 3) are actually easier than Score Rush, as the bullets delete when you kill the enemies fast enough, except for the bosses, but even those you do not have to endure for very long. Their difficulty is somewhat of a myth, although HARD.

  • @jonrskitlez You're obviously a shmup fan if you are talking about Cave shooters... so thanks for appreciating our game!

  • Sequel! SEQUEL!

  • pretty frikn epic game

  • You must of been hyped to dodge all that:)

  • I just bought this game and I had to take a break to let my heart rate return to normal.

Amaziing job guys. I might never see boss A but that's okay, the journey is worth more than the destination :)

  • @magx01 thanks for the support! glad you like it!

  • @matthewdoucette

Any chance of an expanded version/sequel? And would an xbla release be feasible at some point? I'm unaware of the steps necessary to achieve this, but I do know if you had the outlet, Microsoft, and the gamers, would be the better for it. Imagine an expanded version selling for 400 pts on the actual arcade? That would be good for everybody.

I plan on blogging about this game in the next few days. Help spread the word in my limited capacity. Support indie gaming!

  • @magx01 Would love to get onto XBLA, but it's very hard. Eventually it's possible a sequel could make it there. Duality ZF (google it) is actually our attempt at an XBLA shmup, still working on it! And thanks for the support!!

  • @matthewdoucette

I checked out Duality and it looks really good as well. I like the fact that it's a stage progression styled game, the modes and up to 4 players is cool. I'm a bit apprehensive about the whole controlling 2 ships though, and I don't like the aesthetic as much as I do Score Rush. It's technically bettter, but I prefer SR's art style. That's a super minor quibble, totally inconsequential though. Only the two ships could be an issue. I'm 100%, definitely intrigued.

  • @magx01 two ships is actually much easier than you imagine. the difficulty or rather the fear of it is something we have to tackle elegantly... somehow.

  • @matthewdoucette

Well, the difficulty isn't something that I consider much of an issue....unless it stems from the control. That;'s where it would become a problem, as I am sure you know. As for the fear of it, that is easily remedied by positive previews and of course the free trial, both of which will assuage any fear, if of course the fear turns out to be unwarranted.

I believe you when you say it's easier than I imagine. I look forward to trying it.

  • @magx01 we were actually considering blocking off dual play in the trial, as we calculated the amount of time required to become accustomed to it (2 or 3 plays) is longer than the trial time expected (a matter of 30 seconds) and a prejudgment may be wrong. then you'll have gamers pissed at this "hook". there's really no propoer solution. everything in game making is about balance.

  • @matthewdoucette

Would an automated control type be a feasible option? Think of the automatic control type featured in Devil May Cry/Bayonetta. Such a feature may possibly help you retain a portion of those elusive gamers who would be thrown by the dual feature, and this would allow them to get the learning curve down on their own, once they had their fill of the automatic mode.

Such a control type wouldn't appeal to me, but my best friend for example, would be grateful for it.

  • @magx01 you mean like having the 2nd ship follow the first? we have thought of this. we can only put so much into a game so a lot of modes we thought of have been cut. or did you mean a different type of control??

  • @matthewdoucette

The first one, basically. The idea being that the second ship would be automatically controlled. Sort of like how in DMC/Bayonetta's automatic mode, the combos happen for you, rather than you inputting them manually. This is not how I prefer to play, at all (it's not engaging in the least) but it appeals to many gamers, and what it does it gets them interested/hooked, and then when they are ready they switch to manual and learn how it works.

    Just a thought.

  • @magx01 since that 2nd ship can be hit and die, we don't want it automated. If it followed like an option and died, you are still technically in control of it and at fault So that would work... Not sure if you meant to actually have AI controlling the ship? If so, how good would the AI be? How would it be matched to the skill of the player? Would it be so great that it never dies (and never uses up your lives)? At that point it's like an option lesser than a secondary ship to control. Cool convo

  • @matthewdoucette

Yes, I meant havng it follow the firts ship as opposed to being controlled by the AI. I know this completely negates the point of having the second ship, and I wouldn't use such an option, but I am thinking it might retain some of those players whould would otherwise realize you had to control two ships and simply give up without trying to learn. This way they at least play the game, and then they can learn the proper controls in time. Like taking off training wheels XD

  • @magx01 we do have a g-mode (youtube it with duality zf to see video) that is very similar to this... one thumbstick that controls two fighters, both can die and use up live stock.

  • @matthewdoucette

Ah, perfect. That should appease people on both sides of the issue then :)

  • This game looks amzing for an indie game, the gameplay and balancing looks like it could be on the regular live arcade. Really great job. Ill download this game as soon as ive got some more points!!

Also, ur skills are absolutley SICK!

  • @D1G1T4LDOGMUCK Thank you so much! If you can, please post some video plays of it for us to watch! Plus it helps promote the game too!!

  • @matthewdoucette Ill get the game, and if I get good enough that I feel I can upload a decent vid then Ill let u know and definately get one up!

I love this type of game...

  • @D1G1T4LDOGMUCK haha ok thanks!!

  • 11:16 OHHH! Brutal! HugeJuge gets shut down....

IS that why the final boss 'escaped' ?

  • @TrueSoreThumb Yes, we didn't kill it so it got away!!

  • Looks awesome! Great job on making this. I'll definitely download it soon :)

    BTW is Duality out?

  • @Soukyugurentai Duality ZF is not out yet, but this is its spiritual prequel... so certainly try it out! let me know what you think! And post vids if you can!
