you want to watch a real cop show, one that stay true the police officers and has it's own wonderful personality? watch SOUTHLAND. once you get past the fact that one of the leads is from the OC you realise it doesn't matter, the show isn't all about him.

I never seen a Chicago cop show. it's about time. I'm tired of NY and L.A. but, it's kind of boring compared to The Shield. It's some weird combo of Untouchables and the Shield. it' not serious about. If you never seen the Shield, watch it instead.

I just watched the first 2 episodes and it's DA BOMB!!! (now I'm watching the 3rd episode!!!). Love it!!!! It's so excellent that they're filming one of my favorite tv shows in my hometown - Chicago! I'm extremely happy to see Chicagoan Jennifer Beals back on tv!!!! I love her character of Theresa Colvin!!! I hope this show will be on for a long time!!!!

First off, the cops don't dress or speak like that here. Also, they would never put a woman as superintendent. And I'm positive they will not be addressing issues on this show like gangs and drugs with any type of realism. A Brit playing a Chicago cop? Ridiculous! Jennifer Beals as a cop is also completely laughable! However, I will give this show a shot. If not for anything else, at least to see how they portray my city. This show won't last. I guarantee it. It's too glitzy. Chicago is grimy.

1: Jason Clarke is Australian.

2: Dominic West as McNulty in The Wire, a Brit playing a Baltimore cop. That worked just fine.

3: It's unlikely Fox will be able to let them get too deep down and dirty anyway, as it's a network show, not cable

4: The Shield managed to pull off feeling more violent than it actually was, Ryan knows what he's doing.

i was born, raised, grew up, and currently still living in the city of Chicago. I also have a degree in Law Enforcement and when i first heard about this show from a family member I was excited because all my buddies' dads were in the Chicago fire department and police department, and then i saw that it was made by the same creator as "The Shield" and got even more excited. but after watching this preview I have to say that i will eat my own shit if this show lasts more than one season.
