I'm using only a Macbook Pro 13" (2010).. and FCPX isn't great, wouldn't recommend using it really, stick to iMovie I say, which is decent enough and runs smooth. I'm getting a new iMac when they refresh them. At minute I pretty much just keep things simple in FCPX, don't try and do anything to complex, or my macbook fans will go nuts, and my macbook will freeze.
