@isssylucy i see you're appreciative, how about you give justin a break and go learn some easy songs...Its a difficult song to play and this is a great tutorial,im havin great fun playing.
@isssylucy this isn't a beginner tutorial. you should go on his website "justinguitar" for the beginner's course. Best teacher you can find on the internet in my opinion.
This is a nonsense request...like you don't have enough on your hands...but I personally would love if you covered "Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced" by the Dropkick Murphy's. Don't even teach a lesson, just grab the Jester and give it a go.
Ha ha, I just had to laugh when u said "cars big as bars" in an Irish accent.very funny for me & I am Irish myself.U pronounce Galway funny but Iv heard a ton of Americans(know ur not American) say it that way and I always correct them on it.I also live in Galway city myself. Anyway just want to say that I thoroughly enjoyed ur cover and thank u for the lesson. It is definitely a song that i want to learn!
i hate it when people comment criticizing his voice. Justin's got a good voice, and he's even better at playing guitar. i've learnt so much from him, and i'm sure everyone else has. stop looking for things to laugh about, this guys got talent
God, I have died and gone to heaven Jedi and Justin! My favorite Christmas song. I've been playing this song all wrong. Thanks for the tweaks! This'll be fun when the family comes over for Christmas. I notice you didn;t add th bawdy language parts! HAHAHAHA! Too bad I don;t have a Kristy (R.I.P. I miss your lovely voice) to sing her part! Love the stache! I am 57 and will have mine till I die!
@FreeUlster Christy's version is magic. And easier to play too. God bless ya Christy. And happy Christmas everyone. And thanks for all the great lessons Justin.
Great video, perhaps slightly fuzzy in places but I got it in the end! Some of the chord-melody bits were particularly hairy, but your clear explanations helped me master the tash at hand. It turned out to be no skin off from under my nose. I mustache you to please keep uploading mo videos, I'll definitely stache them in my favourites pile.
Really great version. It has all of the little bits that make it so regognisable. Not a bad Irish accent for an Austalian either!!!! The original is iconic but for a slight alternative try listening to Christy Moores version. That is special as well
justin could u do a lesson on A WHOLE NEW WORLD from da arabian nights......a beautiful song...........i'm sure it'll b a gr8 hit........thanks 4 all da other lessoons...............
Justin, I don't know if my comment on your Louie Louie upload had anything to do with you uploading this but thank you so much,... You are a God amongst men!
Stop telling him to lose the moustache, guys. He's taking part in 'Movember', an annual event (that originated in Australia), where during the month of November, men can grow out their moustaches to raise awareness for mens' health issues, like prostate cancer and depression, and to raise funds for the Movember Foundation - the charity that runs the event and supports initiatives like the beyondblue foundation, prostate cancer research, educational programs and so on. Good effort Justin (;
Well said smittyguitarplyr it's sad people don't know, but with more people like Justin and Gary linker taking part hopefully people will learn. and how can people have a go at a bloke who teaching you to play for free!
Justin, you are just so... there is not enough positive adjectives to describe your being, but I consider your mind to be one of the best. Thank you so much :) this is Wonderfull!
look up christy moore for this tune ;) he does it better no offence .. but cheers for chords much appricated as always, iv heard dogs howl this song better ;)
Thanks justin for the movember effort - my husband is a 7 yr survivor of a particularly aggressive prostate cancer. Thank heavens he was screened at an early age or he probably wouldnt be here . Thanks for the guitar lesson!
hey justin beautiful as always and.......................................... PLEASE PLEASE justin do "this old guitar"or "sad song" for john denver cuz i like 2 know how 2 play these songs and i love 2 hear u singing them cuz u have a wonderful voice......... i swear it's true .......thx 4 everything sofar
ok ill try to explain the mustache: justin is full of guitar skill, and his body is bursting because of it, so he has to create new storage room, like all people with epic beards and mustaches he saves his massive skills in his mustache :)
ha ha love the tash Justin, and as for the accent? im an Irishman, where did ya hear that? probably from a 1950s hollywood film............ he he keep up the good work..................... and top of the morning to yiz
Damien Dempsey does a brilliant live version of the song, although in fairness, he's a true Dub. The Magic Numbers also do a great live version also. I saw them play it live in Galway a couple of years ago.
What a great fun Christmas song, brilliant cover of what was always going to be a difficult song to do. If you sang this in a Dublin bar the walls would be rockin'. Well done Justin and thanks for all the hard work you put in.
Yes my Irish accent sucks, in fact I suck equally as bad at all accents. But a song like this is hard to cover cos the original is kinda untouchable... so I thought a little humor of the accents might make it work better... maybe. maybe not. Whatever. It's a lesson demo not a cover!!
Great version for the guitar. I've just recently been working this song out for piano. I think the first 4 chords of 'They've got cars big as bars, they've got rivers of gold' are I, V, VI, IV though?

Without being a critic, and being a huge fan and follower i have to say sometimes i don't find the best in your singing but this song was completely nailed, totally yours, love man
Just so you know Justin grew his moustache for Movember (Charity) as I was typing this he burst into Kirsty Mccalls part and I laughed me arse off at the Irish accent. The man is a legend !
You look like kinda like Freddie Mercury! :)
