@bigtoken90 Because there has been a merging of cultures, it is more acceptable for "white" people to enjoy and act/be "black". Of course this is only true in you believe in stereotypes, that certain groups generally act a certain way. The "merge" has not exactly been two fold. I see more white rappers/hip hop artist, but honestly, I do not come across many black people in metal, so it is a surprise, and I won't lie. Does not mean he isn't fucking awesome though.

I'm not saying black people are non-existent in metal. The guitarist (or possibly bassist) of Born of Osiris is black. The drummer of Suffocation is black. The singer of Oceano is black. But still, Metal is pretty much a White dominated genre of music. It's not common. That's why most people think it's cool to see a black guy in metal.

Who cares what color anyone in the band is? Some of you people are missing the point of metal. Metal isn't about the color of the band members, it is about the music. I don't care if the lead singer, bassist, lead guitarist etc. are blue with purple stripes and have pink fire coming out of their ass so long as the music kicks my ass. Maybe some of you should step back and ask yourselves if you like metal for the music or you are more interested in the people in the band.

I'm not saying black people are non-existent in metal. The guitarist (or possibly bassist) of Born of Osiris is black. The drummer of Suffocation is black. The singer of Oceano is black. But still, Metal is pretty much a White dominated genre of music. It's not common. That's why most people think it's cool to see a black guy in metal.
