  • Noah's got such a cute innocent face'aww

  • LOL! I love as soon as you take the halter off his nose, he goes for the camera! He must love being tape :D Also, do you have to do a bridle path?

  • @horses1238 I know, he's a ham ;) You don't HAVE to do a bridle path if you're not showing, but it helps make it easier to bridle them. If you're showing, you should do it.

  • @aokamins11 Ahh, Ok. Thanks soo much!

  • i thought i've heard of trimming a horses hoofs i also ride (show jumping) and i was wondering what that is and how you do that? thanks!=) Real helpful video's too!=)

  • @SchleichLover182011 Trimming hooves is something a farrier does. All horses, not just show jumpers, need their hooves trimmed. They grow just like our fingernails do, and get too long if they don't get trimmed down. Someone who's trained to trim hooves should do this, though, because you need to understand about hoof anatomy and angles and such to do it right.

  • @aokamins11 Oh thanks that helps alot!

  • i think its SOOOOOO cute when there little lips wiggle about and i especially like it in the tack up video Noah's little lip going up and down waiting for you to put the bit in his mouth. So CUTE!xx

  • @SuperHorsegal123 I know, I love that too ;)

  • To me the funniest part to a horse is their mouth. They move their mouth in a very cute and funny way. It is so cute how Noah tries to eat the clippers. x.

  • @SuperHorsegirl2000 I know ;) I LOVE watching their little lips wiggle! I particularly like when he's clearing snow with his nose to eat grass.

  • @aokamins11 Awwww how cute... you are very lucky to have a such a cute and beautiful horse like Noah.... God bless. x.

  • Please, please, please. Don´t clip his whiskers. You're literally mutilating him. Horses aren't able to focus with their eyes on things near to them. Without the whiskers, horses have problems with close orientation and checking their food while grazing, it's prooved by scientific studies. I am so glad that for that reason this is not allowed in Germany.

  • @sorornoctis I have never heard this before! I did a literature search and couldn't find any papers published on it...could you send me any papers that show these studies? I really want to know if this is true! I will also be contacting my vet regarding this issue. I am also contacting my riding friend in Germany about it. Thank you for bringing it up.

    -Ali

  • @sorornoctis done a bit of research. You are certainly right that whiskers help with feeling around, but it not deadly for them to not have them. I don't advise trimming whiskers all the time, but there's not too much wrong with once in a blue moon trimming them for a big show. They grow back quickly. So everyone--revision to my video! Don't clip your horse's nose whiskers very often. Much better to leave them be. (but my friend in Germany says there's not law against it...)

  • thanks noah seems really sweet, he is cute when he tries to eat them, and thank for your help!

  • my horse loves the vibration from being clipped

  • @TheCrosscountryfreak so does Noah ;)

  • what clip would you use on a horse that lives out all year with out rugs?

    -caitlin

    THANKS!

Does it hurt when you clip his whistkers of?

  • @mad4hebe I probably wouldn't clip him as all, unless you're riding him really hard and he's getting really sweaty. Then really the only one that is appropriate would be a strip/gullet clip that just clips the hair down his centerline on his chest and stomach. Just remember that horses without rugs/blankets really need their coats to stay warm during cold winters!

And, no, it doesn't hurt at all to trim his whiskers. Noah always seems to enjoy it, actually ;)

    THANKS!

  • Heyy Ali. My horse Tonto is giving me alot of trouble, he is scared of his bridle very head shy and scared of water. I tend to sit in his atble for a ehile and pet him . i try to get as close as i can. he lets me pet him but i cant get close to his nose and mouth. I just want to know if theres anything i can do the trainers at the stable are too busy to tend to him personally. some people can get his bridle on with hout a problem but they are are quite rough with him is there anything i can do x

  • @AmbzLPayne22 The best thing you can do is to keep spending lots of time just hanging out with Tonto, grooming him and walking him around and touching him, even giving him a treat or two so he gets used to you and realizes you're nice to be around. Then use a very basic training technique: you can never force a horse to do anything, but you can make him want to do the same thing you want him to do. So when you reach to pet his face and he pulls away, just ask him to back up or walk in a circle--

  • @AmbzLPayne22 CONT. and then try again. Every time he pulls away, just quietly make him do some work. He'll soon decide it's much easier to just let you pet his head ;) It may take you awhile, so you have to be committed to keep working at it until he lets you touch his head (otherwise, if you stop before he does, you'll just teach him to hold out on you). Repeat as often as you can, and always reward him when he does well!

  • I love yall Noah is so cute!

  • They have whiskers for feelers at night so that they don't hurt their muzzles at night. It is also true that they help with frost too. :)

  • I LOVE your videos!! And can u do a vid on how to wash and load a horse?

  • will the mane hair grow back? Also, do you have to clip all teh little whiskers or will they fall out by themselves?

  • @mtrenchFTW3 Yep! Just like your hair, mane hair keeps growing. And I don't think that the little whiskers ever "fall out"--if you want them gone, you've got to clip them.

    -Ali

  • @aokamins11 Ok thank you :)

  • could u use these clippers for his whole body!

  • @GotToLoveHorses1 There's no reason you couldn't. They're probably not heavy-duty enough to get through clipping his entire body if you were doing a hunt clip or something like that, but could probably make it through a strip clip. They make special full-body clippers if you need to go the full monty on your horse!
