the name Daisuke of the Nishina clan appears nowhere, anywhere...
we know who hatsumi says his dad is... and he isnt on genealogy under him,...
@Arteanor yes, thats the reason I am so scared of leaving comments. Having to deal with twats like you. Are you really that bored you need to go trolling on non comments ......get a life!
what relevance does my training have to do with the opinions of the koryu societies, independent historians, and martial artists alike?? absolutely nothing of course, you are only attempting to set up an argumentum ad hominem... which is of course logically fallacious...
can you explain to me why i would need a martial arts "test" to understand the books written by experts???
@Arteanor I am not interested in X,Y,Z society I am not speaking to them. Please answer you the question. Tests are there for a reason..knowledge. Independent historians you say so what does' genpei suiseki ' mean to you?
either you cant spell, or your throwing curves... let me correct you, ' genpei suiseki ' is incorrect it should be:
'Genpei Seisuiki'
also known as Genpei Jōsuiki
its an extension of the tale of heike....
but you wouldn't try to use a misspelling of the alternate name to deliberately miscite a source right? too bad for you im a better researcher than to let that stop me.
as is, your using suiseki > " japanese art of Stone Appreciation(水石)" you didn't mean that did you?
With every skill you learn, you learn to make it more effective! Ninjutsu is not 'he throws this punch i shall move here'. The kata which ninja learn is.. 'get out of the way!! Where am I!?! from this situation I know this!!! this is were kata is effective,From kata A you learn this technique which sends your opponent into kata C, which in turn make kata .F. on its own its hard, but together you have been there before!!! like every day life you do it enough it's second nature!!
Not in the slightest! You are expressing an opinion on what you have seen on youtube or you have trained with an inferior teacher! if you give the mma speech about what is best tactics, i say this! When you learnt to drive you did not hit every car because there was a chance he could hit you! You drove defensivly because there was a CHANCE he could hit you!!! As I said you REACT to the punch either inside or outside, you dont know its REACTIONS!! BUT you know techniques from here so go for it!
your kinda rambling. i just asked if all the lunge punches worried you since doing them so much might make them second nature. your answer is no, because you are pretending they are other things. so i say to you: HAPPY PRETENDING CEEKAY!!
@nicerebound Don't be hasty and jump to conclusions. Some "Bujinkan" teachers did the same, and ended up teaching badly. There is no lunging punch in Ninjutsu. What u see in the video can be read in many ways, and implies many movement techniques. This is a demo, not a teaching.
It's important for you to bear in mind that there's no lunging punch in the practice, for a punch must reach the target at all cost. Someone who studied with disciples of Hatsumi or with Hatsumi could tell u that much.
Doing something slow to demonstrate the technique and randori are different things don't you agree? Have some common sense and think about it. When we train where I am different punches / kicks are thrown and you adapt the technique to it. I bet you also think the goal of a stance is to learn to fight in a fixed posture.
@nicerebound i understand what you mean brother i been doing ninjutsu and when i statrted i was worried. but this is basic stuff. like karate kata. advance ninjutsu invovles all kinds of punches and the denfence is very different then shown here. we prcatise fighting agaist boxing, muay thai, street, and kung fu punches. , here is a little sample of what real ninjutsu really look like. /watch?v=wzNv1czJvpE&feature=fvsr
@Arteanor ya ok whatever. i dont have time to waste on some guy on youtube talking about ninja without siting sources i rather go to japan . real authintic ninjutsu does not exist the way it did in the past but the the modern version of ninjutsu has many element of it. why dont you fight a guy that does ninjutsu and then tell me if he is fake
@Arteanor the Sumarai did not have a specific martial art they used mixer of jujutsu, akido, sword fighting , then all the art that came from sumarai judo jujitsu and akido . Ninjas also did the samething like sumarai but they did what sumarai didnt. they cheated to win the fight. there was no art called ninjutsu. arts were not really titled back then. judo is a art which contains element of sumarai art and ninjutsu also contain element of ninja fighting style. throwing suriken etc...
@Arteanor i was making a connection between sumarai and ninja. just like sumarai didnt have a specif fighting art nethier did the ninjas they didnt have a specific martial art but their fighting style is spread in a lot of Japanese martial art. . ninja fighting style were same as sumaria. if you really think about it alll the Japanese arts have sumarai and ninjutsu fighting style element. Bujinkan just took the bar to another level.
"i was making a connection between sumarai and ninja" but your connection is bogus.
you are claiming ninjutsu is or includes martial arts... therefore, you are claiming a ninja fighting style... this is BLATANTLY FALSE. there is no evidence for that claim...
the bujinkan has no connection to shinobi or ninjutsu....
they only teach budo and call it ninjutsu...
and seriously kid, learn to spell... S A M U R A I !!!! @ _ @
@Arteanor Shinobi soldiers LOL go to Martial Arts Planet and see how well antony Cummins does against scrutiny, abysmally, just like his spelling. He knows very little. You should find some reputable sources before you rant like that.
i am there, maybe you should make yourself familiar beforehand.
you seem to misunderstand me, whatever issue the users at MAP seem to take, it has not been demonstrated, its just a circle jerk, with pats on the back after.
it is the same double-talk non-answers that ALL of the fake ninja pull...
you seem to think that is my only or original source... what a foolish assumption, of course, its pivotal to painting me as ignorant, despite the inaccuracy of it.
@nicerebound Actually when you get into the style behind closed doors, You learn to punch right and it greatly resembles boxing with about 13 different variations of fists. I do MMA and Bujinkan and have trained in styles such as Fairbairn Defendu, and a little krav maga. Bujinkan is not what is portrayed in this vid. This is just a sample to reel students in.
that would be great... if anything hatsumi has ever learned or taught, was ninjutsu...
not saying that he isnt a great Martial artist, but that doesnt suddenly change the meaning of the word ninjutsu (which is over 300 years old, and describes the techniques of espionage, camouflage, and survival)
then again... most people dont know that, so i guess i cant fault you for it...
@Creationsofmyown what is this aladonocturno knows the truth? Its not the matrix you know!! Just attach an address! How is your book doing please send an a link. thanks
However, concepts such at strike from behind is valid against any opponent. In a real dynamic situation the strike does not have to be a kick. it can be a punch, a shove or whatever. Its practicing knowing the opponent's balance, the force and direction it takes to move them in a position that's better for you. These, unless you actually practice you won't understand, even less from a youtube vid. watching something isn't the same as doing something. 2
you seem to misunderstand what a kata is. a kata is never meant as a representation of what to do in a "real fight" a kata is a chapter in a textbook. you physically learn the content of the text book, then try to apply what you learned through practice.
using the opponent's balance to control positioning is a very tricky thing. especially since in a "real fight" you have no control over the initial conditions such as your opponent's body size, training, etc. 1
koku is a valuable kata about distance and positioning. instead of training to move around the enemy, which we do as well, this one trains to move the enemy around for you. the enemy is moved into a space where you have all the advantage aka behind. there is a pressure point called butsumetsu involved in koku (the strike in the back) that further moves the enemy. in a "real fight" you will never use the kata as it is, but moving the enemy around becomes an important skill to use taijitsu.
ha ha ha, a choreographed kick to someones hanging leg is your way of training to take an opponents back? you really think the exercise on display in this video will ever put you behind a real opponent?
this bullshit form has very specific movements that represent nothing that would ever happen. this should be an indication that its bullshit, not that the movements have some hidden application
if you guys all did bag work as a standard practice, like any respectable organization claiming to train hand to hand combat, maybe you wouldn't be so fat.
or you guys could, buy a fucking bag and hit it, and practice keeping your gaurd up and moving around with balance while still hitting the bag...with power....for long periods of time.
you can learn all kinds of stuff that you don't learn in bujinkan
most importantly, how to throw some besides a fucking lunge punch
notice... that he stays in hira- no kamae this is important....a variation of the taisabaki can be done using ichimongi no kamae...but it would be more of a sweeping tech..in water element...Hatsumi has the tend. to use more veriations of hira (wind or Fu kamae) in his vids. and in seminars..the beginning level students should practice this type of taisabaki constantly while adapting it to deferent Elemental type of Kamaes.....this was to answer your question Chriss...
Was that the Ninja art of ass raping? He rotated his pelvis firmly against the guy's ass. Is it supposed to be the true art of humiliation? Make him his bitch?
Well you Attacked me... ITs fair in my eyes. Stop being a fool of yourself then. Maybe treat people how you would like maybe I will treat you with repait that is what we are thaht dude.(Sorry for the spelling but damn)
Always nice to get a mix of views. My main sparring partner has a differing background from my own and we combine ideas all the time. Works a lot better than just following one way.
Why are they not teaching any realistic concepts? Ever seen a real fight? I've been around some bad places and had my own fights, and the most typical mode of attack is just straight blinded aggression. Their arms are swinging wildly with the face the usual target. I've even seen fights where a guy hides several weapons and then later challenges a guy to fight at that spot, grabbing the weapons during the fight.
Noda Shi is where he teaches. I would never presume to call him real or fake. If I were you I would travel to Noda Shi and look up Nagato, one of his students. Then when you get his permission try to take him to the ground and see what happens. Then you will know without any doubt what the truth is.
Damn straight. You'll get plenty of anonymous cocksuckers talking shit about Hatsumi and his shihan, but never anyone who is willing to put his money where his ignorant mouth is.
Who the fuck cares if some ass hole in Japan can win a fight? The question is: can you? You've spent time training in this art they say works. Does it require their 40 or more years, or can you use it now?
If you think this art makes your life better, then go for it. But I really doubt it's street effective. Especially when you keep using swords and other unrealistic tools in training. Most people just aren't interested in playing Ninja.
why are swords not realistic weapons? 1. it kills in a blink of an eye with style 2. if you arent into carrying swords, ALL ninjutsu sword techniques can be applied to baseball bat/pipe/etc attacks
Um, no. You're reading the wrong posts. I said they're not practical in the modern age. If practicing as a sport or for mental conditioning that's one thing, but they're training to kill their enemies.
you buj guys all talk about how differently you train from the typical buj dojo. every single one of you describes training methods entirely different from youtube videos and hatsumi's own methods. if you really do train so differently, you are a buj dojo only by name, and a rare exception.
not all of you can be telling the truth. if everyone in the buj beat the hell out of each other, someone would have taped it
ive seen a lot of crap around bjk but nobody is perfect, critics say that we dont train realistic, once with my best parter i was practising a technik and i berly used force of the punch and i ko him for 5 sec after that i felt so stupid coz i didnt have control maybe thats why critics see soke to soft on videos but when i met him he was for real and you can learn alot.
who's asking for flash? maybe if his partner didn't have to do most of the work to complete the body mechanics of this larp session, it would be a less laughable
anyone who rejects a notoriously unrealistic organization is a fanboy.
if this isn't a spar then whats the point. practice all the stuff you can do if your opponent cooperates. this would never work if someone didnt roll with it, so whats the point??
This is a demo, not a fight or spar. However, watch enough of them and you will see the exact same key locks, chokes, ground techniques and strikes you see in martial arts like Judo/Jiujitsu, aikido, (and coincidently) Krav maga, etc. Bujinkan is not about hand to hand. Hand to hand is a last resort in this style, and as such the hand to hand is not the best you can find, but the total package is hard to beat as a self defense method. Stop expecting something it doesn't claim in the first place.
nicerebound, I hope your joking. If not, you sound like a real loser. The kind of guy who kicks someone when they're down, is a real piece of garbage.
"Do not take Ninjutsu lightly, you have no idea of it's efficiency for killing"
Unless you have actually killed people using ninjutsu you are a victim of your own LARPing paradox.
I understand that may be difficult for you to take in, so maybe just stick to Naruto and tree climbing, and stay away from thinking, and sharp objects.
I wouldn't say that is the situation but once I get more talented then I will feel more secure and be willing to help people in need IF they get attacked which is very unlikely it happens but IF that happens, I wont stand and watch.
All this idle chatter. Find a good teacher, then see what you think. I'm lucky. My ninjutsu teacher has impressed every cocky jerk that has come into our dojo with a chip on their shoulder. Roughnecks and highly trained martial artists are always leaving his school humbled and ready to learn... depending on the ego of course.
Oh, one more thing. Fellow ninjutsu practitioners, please don't let the dumbass who thinks ufc fighters are almighty even thought he probably lives in his mothers basement get you angry. Think calm and reasonable and ignore ignorant people. Remember, a ninja never acts in anger.
Before them, ju-jitsu's effectivness and been kept in humble secrecy for 1200
years, a millenium before Brazil existed and a country. The gracies' (same or even lacking technique) "gracie ju-jitsu" has
had no more techniques/locks than have always been used in Japan except a few rolls on the ground and lay on your back and they seem to have no repect or honor for the history of the art. Take it from a martial art history expert and an a former mma fighter.
Study mma all you want, it's a great SAFE SPORT. Do not take Ninjutsu lightly, you have no idea of it's efficiency for killing. If you decide to learn any form of ninjutsu/taijutsu please, study the culture and origins from Japan and use carefully, respectfully and humbly. Do not show and bloat to the whole world that Japanese martial arts are superior like the Gracies.
I have trained and competed in ufc/wec style mma, I know shotokan, muay tai, and traditional ju-jitsu. I also practice ninjutsu and know that I can never use most the techniques I learn from ninjutsu in competetion because mma is a SPORT. Even though mma today has stolen the 1200 year old techniques from ju-jitsu for submissions, it can never ever compare to thetechniques bred in and used in war for KILLING.
i totally agry, although ufc fights come as close as a sporting event can be to actual fighting, theres a minimum of rules and restrictions that they have to inforce to prevent any casualtys during the fights
if you want to train in this crap and pretend you know what a real fight is like, go ahead. but dont go bashing mixed martial arts like its a harmless game for people who cant handle traditional arts.
the fighters that lay it on the line and step in the cage are at a level of atheleticism and destructive capability that you will never understand. So stick to your compliant drills and your BS about secret deadly techniques and leave the real fighting for the competitors.
well we all have different purpose with training what we do. Some train like kickboxing or something like that just to be a good fighter in the sport but some (like me) will use it to protect and do good also.
I think ufc is awesome but I would't say that ninjutsu is crap that isn't what a real fight is like... BECAUSE IT IS. I learn alot about fighting on my Taijutsu lessons and I know it's not harmless.
I think you'll find Dr Hatsumi has in the past been brought in to train the american military because his technique is so incredible. Of course if you mowed him down for 200 yards away with a machine gun, his training would not protect him but by adding the technique to more standard military training the soldiers have an extra string in their bow, so to speak. stop thinking in black and white
I fully agree that in the real world most fights end up on the ground brawling and yes if 2 people are well trained in their chosen fighting style, then weight and youth probably would win out. You can not however claim that Ninjutsu is not a formidable technique as it incorporates so many styles. It uses hand to hand, weapons including firearms, distraction, climbing, hiding etc. It is not a sport, it is a technique which has been used to pretty remarkable effect over the last 500 years!
I still don't understand why people give practitioners of ninjutsu so much shit. Every martial artist I've met in the bujinkan have been very down to earth about their art.
Its because they think they are actually doing something like self-defense. But their training is backwards and worthless. I am all for training progression, but it never even tries to approximate a real, intense encounter. Its is just larping.
Back when I was in a bujinkan dojo, my instructors would turn up the intensity and we got to see how they applied to "real, intense encounters". You don't have to believe me though. I'm just saying what I've actually EXPERIENCED. Unlike you little virgins talking shit on youtube.
Sorry douchebag, virgin I am not. I spent more than little time following the teachings of goofy Hatsumi. Sorry, their training methods are unsound. I won't say all their techniques are unsound, just the way shinobi jokers tend to train is unsound. Maybe your school had good training methods. But look at all the stuff on youtube and you can see most of it sure isn't. I think this is because it isn't performance based. In Judo, BJJ or wrestling your skill is assessed on the mat.
You sir are ignorant. Keep watching your T.V. shows about boys in a cage. Real life has no rules, there is a reason UFC and Pride count Bujinkan as illegal. They won't even allow Krav Maga. UFC = Childish games.
UFC=Childish games? Now you are talking some silly nonsense. Sure it is a sport. But I would put money on any of the top ten UFC guys hand to hand against any of the top larpers you ninjas could produce. Hand to hand I would put money on any the top BJJ/Wrestlers/submission grapplers vs any 15th dan ninja-shinobi warrior. Hell I'd give any purple belt in BJJ the advantage over almost any ninja. Hand to hand.
Ninjutsu's hand to hand has some techniques that are identical to BJJ. There is a logical reason for this, if you knew the histories. Although BJJ has truly evolved from the Jiujitsu tree, there are many useful techniques not exclusive to it. You won't find them all in ninjutsu, or even japanese jiujitsu, but you will find many. Stop being a fanboy.
"when the student is ready the master will appear. also when the master is ready the student will appear"-unknown
you michelle were obviously not really neither was i. i understand it takes a very mentally strong person to do ninjitsu as its alot mental as it is physical.
hatsumi is a very dangerous man. but you dont see him attackinng people or being afraid do you?no this is because he has no reason to. who in their right mind would attack a grandmaster of any art even if it was say taikwondo
Guys, I train full time at the Muay Thai Institute in Rangsit, Bangkok, Thailand. I know what I am looking at, I am not saying this guy is a fake, but from this single video, he certainly isnt looking effective. Kicking that leg away. Just, why? Just answer that, why? It wont hurt the enemy, wont damage the leg. It is slow and likely to fail. And he looks pretty bloody open...
If you'll care to look closely, the purpose of kicking the leg away was to turn the guy around so that Hatsumi could take the guy from behind and lay him out. Hope that answers your question.
He does not have to. You know what the blind side is? It is common in Wing Chun. He is already at the guys back. Maybe you shed a little light, but as to why he doesnt just strike his body instead... Also, when he blocks the arm, he pushes it in the same way he is m=about to move, a big no. He should push it the other way. Think about it, it would have the same effect as kicking the leg away.
Hatsumi is just demonstrating a kata from one of the schools. Of course, he would never do this in this exact way in an actual fight. Although, he could probably pull it off. It's like in any martial art with kata. none would be performed exactly the way it's written in scrolls. Cut Hatsumi some slack.
Hmn, yeah, maybe. I appreciate Ninhutsu. But most of this was once done with weapons in hands, which changes the whole idea. Hence why a lot of MA have low gaurds with their hands, and it dont pay off in fist fights, only knife fights. You know, Hatsumi has never fought anyone. He isnt a Warrior, he is... I dunno. I would limit your learnings to from those who have experience, not paper.
yes, perhaps you're right about the weapons part. However, this technique is from a samurai school. very little ninjutsu is actually taught today. In terms of Hatsumi's fighting, again, perhaps you're right. However, there is no footage of his teacher, Takamatsu ever fighting, but its well recorded that he did fight and win several matches to the death. Point is: just because there's no tape on Hatsumi, doesn't mean he hasnt fought.
... Well the master of my gym has been a former world champion and has done hundreds of fights, winning most of them... It explains why every time I go away for more than a week and then come back I have to introduce myself again... Kinda like, no memory... Happens. Anyway, the younger ones there teaching are done as many fights. I am saying you know this stuff is well tested. Hatsumi is based on either a couple of unrecorded fights, or just believeing his master... WOW
well that may be so, but it's moot to talk about Hatsumi in this way. He's 76 yrs old and probably hasn't fought in 40 yrs. Simply, he hasn't had to fight. His top younger students in Japan have fought. Do some research on Nagato, Tanemura, Ishizuka, Muramatsu, Manaka and Shiraishi. All these guys learned under Hatsumi and while they never fought in a ring, they did fight in the streets of Japan in their youth.
Dropping a bunch of names does not help improve someone else. The only man there who trained as Hatsumi his original master was Shiraishi Sensei, and he never fought anyone. I dont really care about it, but I cant see why you insist on defending this man. He is not overly impressive, nor has he any list of achievments. He has inherited something which in his hands has changed dramatically, which many would say this means its died. If I were you, I would look elsewhere for instruction. Why him?
I don't train in the Bujinkan. Haven't for many many years. One reason is lack of sparring. Another is politics. I do think the art has some merit, and if taught properly, can be very good for self-defense. The students i mentioned all trained under Hatsumi for decades. They all have fought. Thats a fact. Although not in a ring, but by that standard, neither did Jigoro Kano, Gogen Yamaguchi, Morihei Ueshiba, Gichin Funakoshi, etc. yet they are all revered as legends of MA's.
Doesn't really matter how he did it, it still had the desired result. And like Rich0008 pointed out, none of this would be done in this kind of rehearsed fasion, it'd all be improvised. Way more cut 'n dirty, but I'm really, really sure that Hatsumi would still own the dude.
hatsumi is one of the best martial artist in the world, why should he have to prove himself in every video he is in. He is the GRANDMASTER of the only true NINJA martial art, isnt that enough. Show some respect.
not only could he destroy you with a gun but he could also take you down with a knife if you werent farther than 21 feet away (if you were he could still destroy you with a gun)
What the fuck is "natural gun shooting" you tool? My god you people are fucking stupid; this man is a fraud and his techniques are bullshit. None of you can dodge bullets morons; you watch too much bullshit anime.
I've seen people calling him a fraud before, but they've always failed to present me with solid proof. I'd like to see proof, if that's not too much to ask.
Here is some proof for you. Research his involvement in the movie, "You Only Live Twice"; pay particular attention to how his "ninjas" fared in the final assault scene on the bad guy's mountain fortress. Next, ask yourself why he refuses to show his alleged "secret scrolls" to martial arts historians for authentication. Also, take a close look at his bullshit fighting techniques and touchless knockout drills.
Sorry but some fake ass movie, and your own disbelief doesn't constitute as proof. Could you show me where you get your facts from? I'd like to see if they have anything else to add to the matter.
Give me solid proof to make your point, and I will bow to it, but otherwise you don't actually have anything.
You're a fucking douche. Figures you don't know any of the facts connected with that Bond movie. If you actually looked into it, you would find some very surprising incidents concerning alleged "ninjas" provided by asshat himself to perform the stuntwork on the film you LARPing fag. Meanwhile, asshat has NEVER established ANY of his alleged "lineage", nor has he EVER allowed any historical experts the opportunity to examine his bullshit scrolls.
Sorry I seem to have offended you. I merely wanted to know where you collect your information from, not start a fight. I just want to see some solid proof, and some sources for this information that you are sharing. And there is no need for insults such as "LARPing fag".
you didn't offend him at all, in fact, his only real goal is to offend you. He has no martial arts experience, no base of knowledge and has nothing to go on but what he sees on TV, the simple truth is that he has no proof for what he says and simply relies on insults and false logic structures. egaging him in his childish game is exactly what he wants.
Asking for proof he's a fraud is like asking for proof that bigfoot DOESN'T exist. Just look at his videos. The guy is a joke. A 2-bit conman peddling "ninja" BS for cash.
Are you talking to me? I dont need to back it up. This isnt a theoratircal science thing. This is physical and direct. That move is useless and slow, this man is inexperienced and if you ask me, further from the idea of the old Ninja as George Bush is... It isnt Ninjutsu, they dont even teach anything but hand combat there anymore. It is no more than a weird Karate now. If someone is after quality training, find an experienced instructor who has learned what does not work with his own blood.
Actually, no I wasn't talking to you. My target was Arctic.
And my brother has studied Ninjutsu, I've taken BJJ, and we are both studying Muay Thai right now. I can say on a first hand account that you probably don't actually want to mess with a person who takes Ninjutsu. We spar all the time, and he uses the things he learned actually to pretty good effect. Don't be tricked by the video footage you see, because you need to see first hand what some of these people can do.
Well, I wont say you are wrong, I have not experienced what you are talking about. But, a Ninja who has worked in real life, and fought dozens of people, like the Ninja of old, they are going to be more effective than a man like Hatsumi, I think. I do like Ninjutsu, before I started Muay Thai it was my preferred art, but lack of schools redirected me. But now I am of the opinion that unless you test your moves in reality, where you pay mistakes with blood, how can you be sure it is worth while?
That's exactly why you need to test your move based on reality. You can't expect to see much out of Hatsumi now because he is an old man. If you manage to find some of the videos from when he was younger then you'll see that he looks far more impressive. And I wouldn't doubt that Hatsumi could still mess a man up if he really tried.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Whoever said I was ill informed of the martial arts? You just showed me and everyone else that you obviously know nothing of the martial arts, and that you act like a petulant child. You are nowhere near an understanding with an attitude like that.
I think the vids suck on purpose to keep people out. Bujinkan is hidden by nature, secure from those seeking easy understanding. Other arts look great, but allow common egos to possess them. I love that it looks wrong. This invites only questioning minds to the Honbu. If you know everything already, Bujinkan isn't even available to purchase.

hatsumi doesnt real teach ninjutsu
aladonocturno 2 years ago
With every skill you learn, you learn to make it more effective! Ninjutsu is not 'he throws this punch i shall move here'. The kata which ninja learn is.. 'get out of the way!! Where am I!?! from this situation I know this!!! this is were kata is effective,From kata A you learn this technique which sends your opponent into kata C, which in turn make kata .F. on its own its hard, but together you have been there before!!! like every day life you do it enough it's second nature!!
ceekay96 2 years ago
if doing something enough makes it second nature, aren't you worried about training in an art that throws so many hanging lunge punches?
nicerebound 2 years ago 20
Not in the slightest! You are expressing an opinion on what you have seen on youtube or you have trained with an inferior teacher! if you give the mma speech about what is best tactics, i say this! When you learnt to drive you did not hit every car because there was a chance he could hit you! You drove defensivly because there was a CHANCE he could hit you!!! As I said you REACT to the punch either inside or outside, you dont know its REACTIONS!! BUT you know techniques from here so go for it!
ceekay96 2 years ago
your kinda rambling. i just asked if all the lunge punches worried you since doing them so much might make them second nature. your answer is no, because you are pretending they are other things. so i say to you: HAPPY PRETENDING CEEKAY!!

Fitz972 11 months ago
Doing something slow to demonstrate the technique and randori are different things don't you agree? Have some common sense and think about it. When we train where I am different punches / kicks are thrown and you adapt the technique to it. I bet you also think the goal of a stance is to learn to fight in a fixed posture.
zenbyo 2 years ago
@nicerebound i understand what you mean brother i been doing ninjutsu and when i statrted i was worried. but this is basic stuff. like karate kata. advance ninjutsu invovles all kinds of punches and the denfence is very different then shown here. we prcatise fighting agaist boxing, muay thai, street, and kung fu punches. , here is a little sample of what real ninjutsu really look like. /watch?v=wzNv1czJvpE&feature=fvsr

@drinkyman2007
i can tell you... your video does not contain any ninjutsu.
you should really check out the Shinobi Soldiers series here on YT... learn a thing or 10...
you do not know or study ninjutsu, just a collection of martial arts calling themselves that....
Arteanor 1 year ago
@Arteanor ya ok whatever. i dont have time to waste on some guy on youtube talking about ninja without siting sources i rather go to japan . real authintic ninjutsu does not exist the way it did in the past but the the modern version of ninjutsu has many element of it. why dont you fight a guy that does ninjutsu and then tell me if he is fake
drinkyman2007 1 year ago
@drinkyman2007
i did CITE my source.
Shinobi Soldiers is a series here on YT and a book, authored by Antony Cummins.
HE uses the following scrolls as sources for ninjutsu NOT being a martial art... Bansenshukai, Ninpiden, and the Shoninki...
all of which are available on the genbukan website ninpo. org
"but the the modern version of ninjutsu has many element of it" this is a blatant lie..
you dont even seem to understand that ninjutsu was never a martial art, what elements?
Arteanor 1 year ago
@Arteanor the Sumarai did not have a specific martial art they used mixer of jujutsu, akido, sword fighting , then all the art that came from sumarai judo jujitsu and akido . Ninjas also did the samething like sumarai but they did what sumarai didnt. they cheated to win the fight. there was no art called ninjutsu. arts were not really titled back then. judo is a art which contains element of sumarai art and ninjutsu also contain element of ninja fighting style. throwing suriken etc...
drinkyman2007 1 year ago
@drinkyman2007
"Sumarai did not have a specific martial art" - i never said anything like this... do you always open with a strawman??
you are talking smack while spelling samurai wrong... and you do know that shuriken have been part of many other samurai ryu right?
i think you fall into a trap where you equate a samurai to a knight, and chivalry, bushido is not something you understand it seems.
there is no evidence for any "ninja fighting style" combat is part of OTHER skillsets.
Arteanor 1 year ago

kagenoshinobimono 2 years ago 2
you seem to misunderstand what a kata is. a kata is never meant as a representation of what to do in a "real fight" a kata is a chapter in a textbook. you physically learn the content of the text book, then try to apply what you learned through practice.
using the opponent's balance to control positioning is a very tricky thing. especially since in a "real fight" you have no control over the initial conditions such as your opponent's body size, training, etc. 1
kagenoshinobimono 2 years ago 2
koku is a valuable kata about distance and positioning. instead of training to move around the enemy, which we do as well, this one trains to move the enemy around for you. the enemy is moved into a space where you have all the advantage aka behind. there is a pressure point called butsumetsu involved in koku (the strike in the back) that further moves the enemy. in a "real fight" you will never use the kata as it is, but moving the enemy around becomes an important skill to use taijitsu.
kagenoshinobimono 2 years ago 3
ha ha ha, a choreographed kick to someones hanging leg is your way of training to take an opponents back? you really think the exercise on display in this video will ever put you behind a real opponent?
this bullshit form has very specific movements that represent nothing that would ever happen. this should be an indication that its bullshit, not that the movements have some hidden application

If you think this art makes your life better, then go for it. But I really doubt it's street effective. Especially when you keep using swords and other unrealistic tools in training. Most people just aren't interested in playing Ninja.
Kiru26 2 years ago 4
why are swords not realistic weapons? 1. it kills in a blink of an eye with style 2. if you arent into carrying swords, ALL ninjutsu sword techniques can be applied to baseball bat/pipe/etc attacks

If you dice an attacker with a sword, you go to prison. I knew someone who stabbed an attacker to defend himself and he served 7 years.
And no, swords are not like baseball bats. A bat won't cut or stab. They are also heavy on the striking end.

MattNinja2 3 years ago 3
Study mma all you want, it's a great SAFE SPORT. Do not take Ninjutsu lightly, you have no idea of it's efficiency for killing. If you decide to learn any form of ninjutsu/taijutsu please, study the culture and origins from Japan and use carefully, respectfully and humbly. Do not show and bloat to the whole world that Japanese martial arts are superior like the Gracies.
MattNinja2 3 years ago 2
I have trained and competed in ufc/wec style mma, I know shotokan, muay tai, and traditional ju-jitsu. I also practice ninjutsu and know that I can never use most the techniques I learn from ninjutsu in competetion because mma is a SPORT. Even though mma today has stolen the 1200 year old techniques from ju-jitsu for submissions, it can never ever compare to thetechniques bred in and used in war for KILLING.

if you want to train in this crap and pretend you know what a real fight is like, go ahead. but dont go bashing mixed martial arts like its a harmless game for people who cant handle traditional arts.
the fighters that lay it on the line and step in the cage are at a level of atheleticism and destructive capability that you will never understand. So stick to your compliant drills and your BS about secret deadly techniques and leave the real fighting for the competitors.
nicerebound 3 years ago 2
well we all have different purpose with training what we do.

Of course if you mowed him down for 200 yards away with a machine gun, his training would not protect him but by adding the technique to more standard military training the soldiers have an extra string in their bow, so to speak. stop thinking in black and white
valentineboy1977 3 years ago
I fully agree that in the real world most fights end up on the ground brawling and yes if 2 people are well trained in their chosen fighting style, then weight and youth probably would win out. You can not however claim that Ninjutsu is not a formidable technique as it incorporates so many styles. It uses hand to hand, weapons including firearms, distraction, climbing, hiding etc. It is not a sport, it is a technique which has been used to pretty remarkable effect over the last 500 years!
valentineboy1977 3 years ago
I still don't understand why people give practitioners of ninjutsu so much shit. Every martial artist I've met in the bujinkan have been very down to earth about their art.
btw UFC does = childish games.
Evilucas 3 years ago
Its because they think they are actually doing something like self-defense. But their training is backwards and worthless. I am all for training progression, but it never even tries to approximate a real, intense encounter. Its is just larping.
Godsmasher22 3 years ago
Back when I was in a bujinkan dojo, my instructors would turn up the intensity and we got to see how they applied to "real, intense encounters". You don't have to believe me though. I'm just saying what I've actually EXPERIENCED. Unlike you little virgins talking shit on youtube.
Evilucas 3 years ago
Sorry douchebag, virgin I am not. I spent more than little time following the teachings of goofy Hatsumi. Sorry, their training methods are unsound. I won't say all their techniques are unsound, just the way shinobi jokers tend to train is unsound. Maybe your school had good training methods. But look at all the stuff on youtube and you can see most of it sure isn't. I think this is because it isn't performance based. In Judo, BJJ or wrestling your skill is assessed on the mat.
Godsmasher22 3 years ago

UFC=Childish games? Now you are talking some silly nonsense. Sure it is a sport. But I would put money on any of the top ten UFC guys hand to hand against any of the top larpers you ninjas could produce. Hand to hand I would put money on any the top BJJ/Wrestlers/submission grapplers vs any 15th dan ninja-shinobi warrior. Hell I'd give any purple belt in BJJ the advantage over almost any ninja. Hand to hand.
Godsmasher22 3 years ago
Ninjutsu's hand to hand has some techniques that are identical to BJJ. There is a logical reason for this, if you knew the histories. Although BJJ has truly evolved from the Jiujitsu tree, there are many useful techniques not exclusive to it. You won't find them all in ninjutsu, or even japanese jiujitsu, but you will find many. Stop being a fanboy.

And he looks pretty bloody open...
michelleestigher 4 years ago
If you'll care to look closely, the purpose of kicking the leg away was to turn the guy around so that Hatsumi could take the guy from behind and lay him out. Hope that answers your question.
sincerelyichabod86 4 years ago
He does not have to. You know what the blind side is? It is common in Wing Chun. He is already at the guys back. Maybe you shed a little light, but as to why he doesnt just strike his body instead... Also, when he blocks the arm, he pushes it in the same way he is m=about to move, a big no. He should push it the other way. Think about it, it would have the same effect as kicking the leg away.
michelleestigher 4 years ago
Hatsumi is just demonstrating a kata from one of the schools. Of course, he would never do this in this exact way in an actual fight. Although, he could probably pull it off. It's like in any martial art with kata. none would be performed exactly the way it's written in scrolls. Cut Hatsumi some slack.
Rich0008 4 years ago
Hmn, yeah, maybe. I appreciate Ninhutsu. But most of this was once done with weapons in hands, which changes the whole idea. Hence why a lot of MA have low gaurds with their hands, and it dont pay off in fist fights, only knife fights. You know, Hatsumi has never fought anyone. He isnt a Warrior, he is... I dunno. I would limit your learnings to from those who have experience, not paper.
michelleestigher 4 years ago
yes, perhaps you're right about the weapons part. However, this technique is from a samurai school. very little ninjutsu is actually taught today. In terms of Hatsumi's fighting, again, perhaps you're right. However, there is no footage of his teacher, Takamatsu ever fighting, but its well recorded that he did fight and win several matches to the death. Point is: just because there's no tape on Hatsumi, doesn't mean he hasnt fought.

well that may be so, but it's moot to talk about Hatsumi in this way.
Rich0008 4 years ago
Dropping a bunch of names does not help improve someone else. The only man there who trained as Hatsumi his original master was Shiraishi Sensei, and he never fought anyone. I dont really care about it, but I cant see why you insist on defending this man. He is not overly impressive, nor has he any list of achievments. He has inherited something which in his hands has changed dramatically, which many would say this means its died. If I were you, I would look elsewhere for instruction. Why him?
michelleestigher 4 years ago
I don't train in the Bujinkan. Haven't for many many years. One reason is lack of sparring. Another is politics. I do think the art has some merit, and if taught properly, can be very good for self-defense. The students i mentioned all trained under Hatsumi for decades. They all have fought. Thats a fact. Although not in a ring, but by that standard, neither did Jigoro Kano, Gogen Yamaguchi, Morihei Ueshiba, Gichin Funakoshi, etc. yet they are all revered as legends of MA's.
Rich0008 4 years ago 4
We could let he and Dan Inosanto fight. Dan is 70ish. Lets get this going!
Godsmasher22 3 years ago
Doesn't really matter how he did it, it still had the desired result. And like Rich0008 pointed out, none of this would be done in this kind of rehearsed fasion, it'd all be improvised. Way more cut 'n dirty, but I'm really, really sure that Hatsumi would still own the dude.

keep in mind its a slow motion demonstration. im pretty sure it would be faster and smoother in an actual situation

hatsumi is one of the best martial artist in the world, why should he have to prove himself in every video he is in. He is the GRANDMASTER of the only true NINJA martial art, isnt that enough. Show some respect.

These old Ninutsu videos sound so cheezy they need another announcer guy.
Karascool 4 years ago
McFLaKy : 1) Unarmed combat training is trained for unarmed combat :). You are not supossed to "fight" with someone weilding a firearm.
2) The basis of ninjutsu is to avoid confrontation.
3) If the soke actually saw you pull out a gun, he would most likely pull out one of his own and blow your dick, before you can say "I´m an idiot".
Because he knows Firearms > Assholes.
Respect a great master.

Dr.Hatsumi teaches natural gun shooting McFlaKy,he'll kick your ass with a gun too.

What the fuck is "natural gun shooting" you tool? My god you people are fucking stupid; this man is a fraud and his techniques are bullshit. None of you can dodge bullets morons; you watch too much bullshit anime.

Proof plz.
ResidentSamurai 4 years ago
What exactly do you want proof of?
tjfnee88 4 years ago
I've seen people calling him a fraud before, but they've always failed to present me with solid proof. I'd like to see proof, if that's not too much to ask.
ResidentSamurai 4 years ago 2
Here is some proof for you. Research his involvement in the movie, "You Only Live Twice"; pay particular attention to how his "ninjas" fared in the final assault scene on the bad guy's mountain fortress. Next, ask yourself why he refuses to show his alleged "secret scrolls" to martial arts historians for authentication. Also, take a close look at his bullshit fighting techniques and touchless knockout drills.
tjfnee88 4 years ago 2
Sorry but some fake ass movie, and your own disbelief doesn't constitute as proof. Could you show me where you get your facts from? I'd like to see if they have anything else to add to the matter.
Give me solid proof to make your point, and I will bow to it, but otherwise you don't actually have anything.
ResidentSamurai 4 years ago
You're a fucking douche. Figures you don't know any of the facts connected with that Bond movie. If you actually looked into it, you would find some very surprising incidents concerning alleged "ninjas" provided by asshat himself to perform the stuntwork on the film you LARPing fag. Meanwhile, asshat has NEVER established ANY of his alleged "lineage", nor has he EVER allowed any historical experts the opportunity to examine his bullshit scrolls.
tjfnee88 4 years ago
Sorry I seem to have offended you. I merely wanted to know where you collect your information from, not start a fight. I just want to see some solid proof, and some sources for this information that you are sharing. And there is no need for insults such as "LARPing fag".
ResidentSamurai 4 years ago
you didn't offend him at all, in fact, his only real goal is to offend you. He has no martial arts experience, no base of knowledge and has nothing to go on but what he sees on TV, the simple truth is that he has no proof for what he says and simply relies on insults and false logic structures. egaging him in his childish game is exactly what he wants.
lbowookie 4 years ago 3
Well thank you. I kind of figured what he was trying to do, but I was hoping he could have at least backed up his statements.
ResidentSamurai 4 years ago
Asking for proof he's a fraud is like asking for proof that bigfoot DOESN'T exist. Just look at his videos. The guy is a joke. A 2-bit conman peddling "ninja" BS for cash.
Arctic49519 4 years ago
So in other words you can't actually back-up what you're saying?
ResidentSamurai 4 years ago
Are you talking to me? I dont need to back it up. This isnt a theoratircal science thing. This is physical and direct. That move is useless and slow, this man is inexperienced and if you ask me, further from the idea of the old Ninja as George Bush is... It isnt Ninjutsu, they dont even teach anything but hand combat there anymore. It is no more than a weird Karate now. If someone is after quality training, find an experienced instructor who has learned what does not work with his own blood.
michelleestigher 4 years ago
Actually, no I wasn't talking to you. My target was Arctic.
And my brother has studied Ninjutsu, I've taken BJJ, and we are both studying Muay Thai right now. I can say on a first hand account that you probably don't actually want to mess with a person who takes Ninjutsu. We spar all the time, and he uses the things he learned actually to pretty good effect. Don't be tricked by the video footage you see, because you need to see first hand what some of these people can do.
ResidentNinja 4 years ago
Well, I wont say you are wrong, I have not experienced what you are talking about. But, a Ninja who has worked in real life, and fought dozens of people, like the Ninja of old, they are going to be more effective than a man like Hatsumi, I think. I do like Ninjutsu, before I started Muay Thai it was my preferred art, but lack of schools redirected me. But now I am of the opinion that unless you test your moves in reality, where you pay mistakes with blood, how can you be sure it is worth while?
michelleestigher 4 years ago
That's exactly why you need to test your move based on reality. You can't expect to see much out of Hatsumi now because he is an old man. If you manage to find some of the videos from when he was younger then you'll see that he looks far more impressive. And I wouldn't doubt that Hatsumi could still mess a man up if he really tried.
ResidentNinja 4 years ago
lol - you wouldnt stand a chance with your gun against Dr Hatsumi... although I admit this is a pretty poor demonstration "takes him from behind" lol

Whoever said I was ill informed of the martial arts? You just showed me and everyone else that you obviously know nothing of the martial arts, and that you act like a petulant child. You are nowhere near an understanding with an attitude like that.
