I think the reason you see children running when Jake is trying to play is because when Jake's refer to him 'playing' with Morgan, he is actually being abused and that's how Jake thinks you should play with the children in the park. If the art, such as a story, gives you all the information about it, like blatantly telling you the motives of all the characters, or explains the meaning, at least too heavily, it can close it to the person experiencing it. If you leave it open, then it will more easily allow them to get meaning from it that they can relate to, which is ultimately what you'd want.
