John and Debera said they wanted o make the series into an anthology series and not a slasher series. it was an original concept and a lot better than more slasher action with Michael Myers who was already in one film too many by the time they made this. look it up in Wikipedia.

I'm so freaked right now. Picture this. Ireland: Halloween 2011, power just went out, but fortunately we have a generator. Just kicked in. It's dark, candles are flickering, and I'm stuffed on sweets and popcorn. I mess around on YouTube looking for Halloween-related media. And then I find this. Now I'm freaked. Dare I play the Silver Shamrock jingle? I think that will truly kill me. This is a provocative and poignant Halloween for me. I'm gonna scream. Oh look , I just found weed. I'm saved!!!

After Halloween 2 the creators wanted to make halloween into an anthology. Each movie was supposed to have a different halloween/horror theme to it. But, because Michael Myers wasn't in it no one liked it. Really though, if you pull this movie out and just watch it for what it is. Halloween 3 is actually not that bad of a movie. Its entertaining and actually especially for that day quite shocking because the main antagonist wanted to kill children. Not teens but CHILDREN!!!
