this is true, they were getting a raw deal from the record label, lack of funding so wanted to go more mainstream in order to get some money,the prospect of working in a factory was looming for the members so you can't blame them for selling out, no matter how diverse and original a band is, it means nothing without financial backing to allow this freedom

PL were a bit lost along the way, but it seems that they recovered their path in the last album...i'm a PL fan since day one. Those were the days!! I agree that musicians try to find new stuff to their music, but if you forgt the fans that made what you are, it's bad. What I am saying is that when One Second came out they lost me, not because I am not listening to house music r because I am close minded. 'Icon' is a masterpiece and nearly tied in with 'Shades'. 'Gothic' is good but nothing outstanding and the debut is IMO plain crap.

I do own and have heard 'Lost Paradise' and musically it's all right but it lacks the direction and strong gothic melodies of their later albums. I rarely listen to it if at all.

IMO, 'Icon', 'Shades'and to some extent 'Draconian Times' are their best albums that are yet to be matched however 'In Requiem' was a step in the right direction.
