It is poisonos if you ingest it, as a topical it is antiseptic because it is poisonous to the bacteria. Will not hurt your skin topically.

@DarrenHolman - but when you boil the sap from the leaves, and be sure to change the water twice, it's removes the toxins. Then you can eat it. :)
