Another great memory - while most of it is a smooth Joe Raposo score, it is 'punctuated' by a kazoo tune wthat accompanies the little bird swimming by.
When I was growing up (70s & 80s) there were many beautiful wild birds to be seen not far from my city. Today that's hardly the case. It's sad that's the way things are going.
I remember this, especially the very last part - it's cute how the 'kazoo-like' music accompanied the little bird swimming by the pelican who was perched on the post. Good old Raposo days!
As I was watching this, I thought 'This sounds very familiar' (I think it's Emilio 'Luis' Delgado saying 'Penguins'). However, at the very end, when the kazoo sound accompanied the little pelican swimming by, I told myself 'I KNOW I've seen this!' Thanks for posting!
Everytime I see the pelicans in the zoo I think of this. That goes for other animal films like this. Tell me, Who can not love these. I am 35 and I still remember these and watch and sing along with them. Or while I at the zoo, they will come to me.
I always wondered if the kazoo solo at the end had a natural ending, has anyone ever heard this on any audio collection of SS songs and heard anything longer than what we hear here??
Was Joe Raposo not the greatest composer of children's music of all time? Who else would think of making a bassoon play lead sounding like a goose, and throwing in a quacking kazoo for good measure. :)
Pelicans are cool, so is this song. When I was a kid, I wondered why that little duck got that silly kazoo solo. I thought there had to be some deep hidden meaning there that I just couldn't pick up on. Meanwhile, my brother was just laughing at it.

I loved the ending when I was kid. Like the kazoo is heckling that little bird for taking itself too seriously...lol!

I remember a camel film that used the same music only slowed down alittle.

He was an amazing composer! Oh not to sound rude, but that's not a kazoo it's a trumpet. :)

I remember this like yesterday as others have said... is that a bassoon playing the lead melody for the first part?

This music came back to me like I saw it yesterday, although it's been over 20 years!

I didn't remember this one until the little duck at the end! I used to WAIT for the ending.

And the kazoo solo that goes with it? Nice touch.
