  • @snowman4839 Because it's still a gran sport

  • I think you are right snowman4839. Seems like '72 was the last year for the Regal GS.I know they still made the gs in '73 but they were UGLY!!

  • @Mr31368 72 was the last year for the Skylark GS, the Regal GS or "Gran Sport" as the name plate read started in 73. I like both body styles. Don't forget 73 had all sorts of evil pollution control stuff and bulbous 5mph impact bumpers. A lot ofg extra weight. A 73 or 74 stage 1 4 speed would be a nice addition to anyones collection. GTO and Olds used this same body style for those years. Even Chevy had the Can Am which shared the same footprint.

  • i have a 1974 Buick gran sport 455,it's fast and i love it,the down side is i'm to young to drive.

  • @ILIVEINANASYLUM Ummm dude... they didn't make GSs in 1974. Unless you're talking about a Century GS or something

  • @snowman4839 No shit sherlock

  • @ILIVEINANASYLUM well they why the hell did you say "I HAVE A 1974 BUICK GRAN SPORT 455" sherlock?

  • out of the 1970 GM A-bodies (chevelle, gto, 442, gs, and monte carlo) the Skylark was considerably faster than the others, mostly due to the fact that buick built these cars with a LOT of low end torque to get them moving because the front end was also heavier than that of the other A-bodies.

  • wow, that is really nice!

One of my favorite cars right here.

  • ya, no matter what its fast and clean looking

  • They only ran 13s stock which is still pretty fast. This was my car that I sold. The car ran a 10.6 in Vegas in September heat which was over 105 degrees and at 5000 feet elevation. Car is 9 mph faster at home track with good weather. Car is a 10 flat car that can be driven anywhere that weighs 4020 lbs without me in it. The motor had plenty of work in it. Great cylinder heads and a small, but efficient cam. If it was all motor and ran that, it wouldn't be streetable.

  • These cars kept up (meaning they won as often as they lost) with the Hemi 'Cuda which was a smaller lighter car. They ran low 14's on bias ply tires! An outstanding car in every way. They even handled fairly well with a four link suspension (standard on all skylarks)

  • skylarks were stock with 4 links? can you tell me more

  • Yeah, even my moms sedan had a four link I don't know how good of a four-link it was though optimal kind of criscrosses... like on a baja truck.

  • stock they run in the 12s and that thing is supercharged and only in the 10s if you put some work into the motor instead of the supercharger it can probally get into the 9s

  • what kind of carb are you runing on it

  • nice car

  • wow did it lose, that would suck

  • Its Pinks ALLOUT, you don't lose anything.

  • i meant the race

  • i will race u

  • nice buddy ,thinkin bout putting one on the 85 cutlass

  • I love your car, I read about it in CAR CRAFT!

    i OWN A 1968 Buick Riviera with a 455

    Nice job!
