Finding and watching this video made me drag my guitar out from under the bed and start playing it again after almost 18 years of it sitting in its case gathering dust.
A beautiful arrangement of one of my favourite pieces of music. Thank you.
Despite the concerto is in G Major, the tonality of this movement is E Major. It has some chords that i think it influences some Robert Fripp´s music. Let us see Cadence and Cadence or Islands which are also in E Major tonality(the second case between E major and C# minor).
Bravo! Very beautiful rendition, i am surprised and impressed to find this fits on a guitar fret board so convincingly. I only wish it were complete, or at least ended on the C# chord.
I'm listening to this a lot these days as i'm working out your rendition finally. This deserves WAY many more views, so I stopped watching my downloaded version and came here to tell you again that this is great.
That's some really good news, this arrangement as heard in here would benefit a lot being played with better equipment. Not to say that with your performance the enhancement is going to be substantial. Can't wait!
hmm-hmm i agree.. the very first time i heard this piece was (it was martha argerich playing) i almost started crying.. it was sooo amazing.. although she plays it very much like tchaikovsky.. i wonder, if i should use "rubato" or not.. because some say i ought to and some other tell me to play it the way michelangeli plays it.. what's your opinion
He uses much more rubato than Argerich. I like Michelangeli's version better even though I play it more like her in terms of pacing. Using it or not is just a matter of personal taste and how do you feel at that moment I think.
incredible. it's all there! that is one of my favorite pieces of music in existence. When i saw you had posted something called "adagio ravel" i hoped it was this. In college i vainly attempted to arrange this for two guitars. you've got all those inner voices and complex harmonies going on just one guitar.
oh, i'm going to have to listen and learn this now. (of course, i said that a long time ago about 'time table' too, which i still haven't gotten around to). eek, so many tunes...
Thanks Tony. I worked it out from the original piano score which is also in the same key. I'm really glad you like it and I'm sure you're going to be able to confront the two versions (mine and the powertab version) and even transcend them!
Wow :)

I really like this, and I like character that the imperfections in the instrument lend it too.

Thank you, I can't remember exactly, I worked directly from the piano score for a few days.

Hello. I really like very much this Ravel`s movement concert. Did you have to change the key signature ( tonality ) of the original composition?
codonauta 2 years ago
No key change from the original, worked on same chords except for that last one.

Nunca pensei que fosse possível tocar isso a uma só guitarra. Onde se pode encontrar esta transcrição para guitarra?
