I see it as immoral to cause animals pain, but I realize that in the wild animals are struggling for survival, and may be prayed upon, in a horribly violent way. The vast, vast, VAST majority of meat is not produced on local farms organically or sustainably, but in large factory farms using imported soy beans grown on former forest areas.

Anything in excess of 10% of calories derived from animal protein increases cancer risk, and beyond 20% the figures go through the roof. The average American is close to 30% and look at our cancer rates. Pathetic.
The reason I think he did that to the vegan patty is because in a video Onision did a few days ago was talking about how his dog is a vegetarian. Onision claimed a dog that adapted to eating just vegetarian food for dogs lives longer and has better medical life than a dog that eats kibbles that are made from god knows what. Dogs will eat anything. It's just plain and simple. They don't care how long they live. They don't care what they eat. It's natural to adapt to something being fed to you.

By the middle of century, the question of not eating meat won't be one of moral choice, but, due to skyrocketing demand, of sheer (lack of) privilege or necessity. (Unless artificial meat becomes feasible)
If you care about the environment and/or animals, the best course is to reduce the amount of meat we consume. If this, in the end, amounts to zero (i.e. vegetarianism) or not is up to the individual.

MrRepzion, it's cute that those slightly narrowminded vegans came to term with meat. But it's still a derailment of the issue, which is that the amount of meat (not the meat itself) we eat nowadays is both unhealthy and environmentally unsustainable. The vast, vast, VAST majority of meat is not produced on local farms organically or sustainably, but in large factory farms using imported soy beans grown on former forest areas.

He was doing ok until he started drilling the Vegan issue. Go home and find something real to slam onision on. Don't get me wrong, I don't like Onision myself, but how about harping on his ability to be an ill-informed prick, If he hits a deer there is nothing he can do to save it. Just because there are a few former vegans who have changed their minds, does nothing to change the science of why all animal proteins are detrimental to the human diet. For proof of this, one only need to read through "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell. Anything in excess of 10% of calories derived from animal protein increases cancer risk, and beyond 20% the figures go through the roof. The average American is close to 30% and look at our cancer rates. Pathetic.

The reason I think he did that to the vegan patty is because in a video Onision did a few days ago was talking about how his dog is a vegetarian. Onision claimed a dog that adapted to eating just vegetarian food for dogs lives longer and has better medical life than a dog that eats kibbles that are made from god knows what. Dogs will eat anything. It's just plain and simple. They don't care how long they live. They don't care what they eat. It's natural to adapt to something being fed to you.
