I wonder why hes still using the kfactor while the BLX is out. Wilson must have offered him money to at least put the BLX paintjob on that. I dont see any reason why wilson wants to market the kfactor anymore, u can only get that racket from tenniswarehouse now. anyway, it'd be great if del potrol really is using the ksix one 95 even if its heavily modded cause, its what i been using since it came out.
@Kiasko Of course Wilson requested him to switch to the BLX paintjob. He probably declined because there's sentimental value in the racquets' design- it's the same one he used in his only major win at the US Open 2009. Switching to a different paintjob might have a mental effect on his game. He switched to the BLX Pro Tour early 2010, or at least the PJ of it, and switched soon after for this reason.
a good technique is the one that works. Thats why there is a standard technique, because it usually works. He got one of the best forehands EVER. How the hell can you say it is wrong?
@rooki2 not.. that was a great match by fed too. and fed is the greatest player EVER, but i just think delpo deserved to win.. sorry for the bad interpretation of that comment from me. my english is awful. happy 2012.
Sure its not the prettiest, but how can you call it inefficient. If you have seen him live his ground strokes are very penetrating and without much effort. That allowed him to easily dominate when it gets tight.
@pr4nk5tr uhhh.. what is wrong with Del Potro's technique? I didnt see anything horrid except the weird way he drops his non racquet hand. i think may be that might be throwing u off. Its not like he's sharapova who puts too much elbow into her forehand sometimes.
totally off topic but hes kinda cute... like an elongated teddy bear.
Instead of using hip drive and shoulder turn and letting the arm swing loose, he muscles everything with the arm. Including the straight backswing. Very linear forehand, no loopy swing or sidespin.
But with his physical strength and great hand-eye coordination, he can obviously produce amazing shots.
Who can help me found Mardy Fish, who will win one award.
For example, If you help me contact with Mardy Fish directly, If Mardy Fish win US Open champion 2011, Mardy Fish will give you 10% of his prize money. I will do my best to help him make his dream come true.
THE NEXT N 1 ¡¡¡ MAYBE AT THIS YEAR , MAYBE IN THE NEXT ¡

@rooki2
I watched the whole match and agree he didn't destroy Federer as Federer really should have closed out the match in the 2nd set.
Delpo really took it to Fed though.
lavaman233 3 months ago
Well people can't criticise his forehand, it's what won him the US Open destroying Nadal and Federer back-to-back in 2009.
If only he could get back into that form...
lavaman233 3 months ago
@lavaman233
he really destroys Nadal, i agree, but Federer....not so sure.....have you seen the match?

@rooki2 6-2 the last one.. as you wish..

His forehand may not be pretty, but techniquewise its solid and flawless. He is executing it extremely well too.
Like his Backhand a better though.

He's so amazing.

No movement... :o

His forehand is so damn ugly..
He's strong and flattens it out, so certainly gets vicious power on it, but the technique is just inefficient and hurts the eyes.
pr4nk5tr 3 months ago
@pr4nk5tr can you win an Us Open with your almighty technique??
cascantediego 3 months ago
@cascantediego
That comment couldn't have been more predictable..
With hard work and exceptional talent, even a technique wise horrible forehand can become a weapon. Like Del Portro shows.
There's not too much magic about a proper forehand technique, it's not all that complex.
And nope, since I decided to take a different job, I'm not a tennis pro. Playing in money tournaments though.

Then you probably guessed the first line as well, pretty cool haha. U can probably predict what underwear I'm gonna wear tomorrow.
Anyway, in case your trying to emulate Del Potro's forehand good luck, would make an entertaining video I reckon.
My last words: Del Potro has an amazing forehand, despite his technique.
