  • How do you know if its a male and female? I was told you cant tell for a long time.

  • @Courttknee888 We gave up trying to figure that out. Some sites say it depends on how the bottom of their shell looks. (flat vs concave) Others talk about the width of the area were the tail exits the shell. The place that sold one of the tortoises said it was a female. For all we know, we ended up with two males.

  • How many gallon is your turtletank?

  • @MrImGerman the video shows the turtles in a 50 gallon tank. However the turtles are now out side in a temporary 100 gallon tank before they are introduced to a 10,000 to 11,000 gallon koi pond. The pond will be completed late Jan to early Feb 2012

  • @caesaryanez cool, can you make a vid when the pond is finished?

  • @caesaryanez is this pond gonna be filled with water? as tortoises cant swim in fact they sink.

  • @doctorsimon4 nvm

  • @doctorsimon4 the pond is for the turtles not the sulcatas

  • @MrImGerman 50 gallons

  • what substrate is best for a sulcata?

  • @WMRProduction As for the substrate, they are now on a bed of river rocks 20' x 15' with a water section they can walk into ...etc.

  • I do not sell, the online store I bought my turtles and tortoises is.... hahareptiles . com (copy/paste the domain and remove the spaces)

  • Can I buy some please

  • Can I buy some baby water turtles

  • Cool. Glad there happy in a pool! What did you use one your ramp? As in traction to get out. And did they ever like to it?

  • @walsallcrew I routed tracks on the ramp for traction. The turtles have out grown the tank and now have a bigger tank

  • Too many turtles for tank that size quickly outgrow and there not basking you should put some driftwood or anything they can rest on they seem to like doing that!!

  • @walsallcrew

the turtles were relocated to a larger tank about 8 months ago. The new tank is much larger with a floating area where they bask. Thank you for your concern.

  • purchased mine from reptilecity(dot)com ... replace (dot) with "."

  • where can i get a tortoise like that with out it taking a big chomp out of my wallet ?

  • @yboben nature coast exotics.com the sulcatas are 85$ each babies too

  • I like your video, its cool!

  • i bet that tank is hard to clean

  • it takes me about 30 minutes once a month.

  • Lowes also cares a 1/8 thick sheet. As far as thicker, .25 was the thickest they carried.

I do not recall the cost, but I purchased their pre-cut sheets... 24" x 48"

  • awesome turtles i might get a Baby Sulcata Tortois

  • I bought the sheets of .25 thick acrylic from lowes. Used a heat gun to bend the corners. Use welding glue for acrylic to adhere the panels. Sorry I did not film, it was a messy project. Acrylic shavings...etc.... oh, I used a router to cut out the openings and shape the corners and edges.

  • how did u get or make the basking site for ur baby turtles? i want to make one for mine.. and i think that was a yellow bellie

  • ya you cant sex baby tortoises your sulcatas should be able to be sexed at 3 years old but breeders sometimes temperature sex their tortoises with an incubator and usually make them female

  • lol nice vid, thanks for sharing
