I have no problem with critics of us, as long as there is a reason behind the negative.
Just saying 'you suck' means nothing but if it says 'you suck... because of this that and the other'.. and you can offer a remedy- THEN I'll listen, but otherwise...........
In all fairness a video,as is the case with the Who, could never really capture them in their best light. You have to be there to feel, hear the fury.Everytime I've left a Wholigans concert I feel as though I was transported into the 1970's Moon era, especially the Live at Leeds period in 1970 and Who's Next 1971.Thank you to Barry and The Wholigans.Say hello to Chris Bacon.
What makes you think they're more qualified than me? The singer sounds more like the guy from Molly Hatchet than he does Daltrey. The drummer does a pretty good job. The guitarist could get more notes right if he listened to the album. It's been out since 1970! Not even close.

I do appreciate your more specific critique, and to explain my knee-jerk reaction; I first experienced The Wholigans about 30 minutes after attending the last Who show on the 2002 tour, it was a very emotional show and tour, to say the least. I had never seen a Who tribute band before, and I only started seeing the Who in 1979, so I never experienced Keith. Continued...
so I never experienced Keith, and from the moment I walked in on that Wholigans performance, I was blown away!! And from that moment I became a total Wholigans fan. I had the pleasure of seeing their show in many locations including the Leeds show, which was 3 years before I got to see the Who actually perform in Leeds at the start of the most recent world tour. So it doesn't make a fuck worth of difference if they miss some notes (I never notices any),
), The Wholigans embody the spirit that is the Who of days gone past. They are not supposed to be The Who, just a tribute, and they do that fucking brilliantly! Some, including Pete think that the Who are their own tribute to themselves, but after seeing about 13 or so shows on the recent tour, I can say the Who are still the fucking best band on the planet, and continuing to create new music that cause the rafters to knock.
So if you want to see The Who, you can still do that (maybe), and if you want to see one of the great tributes, go see the Wholigans!
Love,
ozzie
PS I don't think Barry would mind the Molly Hatchet ref, he always had a special place in his heart for metal, but one thing for sure, Barry can sing the fuck out of The Who's old catalog!
Any man can claim - few can find Any girl can blink - few can lie Anyone can promise - few can raise Anyone can try - but a few can stay Any brain can hide - few can stand Any kid can fly - few can land Any gang can scatter - few can form Any kid can chatter - few can inform It's hard - It's very very very very hard - so very hard It's hard (It's a hard hard hand to hold It's a hard land to control)

I first saw The Wholigans in 2000 when they
were playing on the grounds of the Ice Palace
in Tampa before The Who came on and I was
absolutely floored.Since then I have seen
them about 5 or 6 times and each time they
never cease to amaze me.
