Would anyone else not at all be disappointed if they left this track as is? Holy shit that was the best fucken beginning of any track I heard since Over. Funky Jazz is SAXy
@thSubliminalCriminal This isn't California Uber Alles, this is We've Got a Bigger Problem Now, I mean it's based off that song, but it's about Reagan's election.
One of the most innovative punk songs ever -- great walking bass line, amazingly tight drumming, classic Jello Biafra tremelo vocals, and East Bay Ray even uses 9th chords.
is this an earlier version of california uber allas where regan takes the place of jerry brown. I wonder if they decided that hating regan was a little too overdone?
there's just as much good music now as ever was you just have too look hard to find it. Dead Kennedy's weren't a household name when they were around, they are much better known now. Just think how rad it would have been to see dk in a small little venue when they were starting out, you could be that guy for a band your kids will one day worship.
this have to be the best video of the 'lost session tapes'....i can't stop watching this! amazing, so ahead of their time...btw, im almost 39 and a female.....
lol thanks haha. I know right? every girl i ko wont touch this music, and im just like, Hell yeah! while their listening to Britney Spears and Jonas Brothers and whatever else kids listen to these days. lol. i sound old everytime i say that, but i honestly never heard of any crap bands anyone listens to. lol, im even doing my writing assignment on Jello, cause he's so awesome.
I almost did a speech on Jello as my influential person assignment freshman year in highschool, but I ended up doing it on Malcolm X, which I recieved weird looks for (being white).
I dont give a fuck. I respect his reformation out of prison and how he was man enough to swallow his pride when he was wrong and his courage in rallying so many to his cause.
RIP.
Jello is a personal hero, and it makes me proud to say I can do his singing voice pretty well. He's an incredible man.
u can sing like him? thats so kickass. im probably gonna be the weird one out, while im doing a report on him, everyone else will probably just do it on hockey or animals orsomething, but Jello is so awesome and he stands for basically everything i do, which is awesome.
@Criscogurl21 haha I know exactly what ya menan people be asking me hey you listened to this band and I'd be like ah no...and they'd all be really famous of whatever but never as good as DK or the clash or anything... the worst thing is when there like hey I've a band I think you'll live but they never get it!!! Viva la Jello Biafra kicks ass till this day!!!
@Criscogurl21 You're right, bro. Today's music is so sterile and its a tragedy that we call it "music", You know why today's music is so awful is because today's music is incapable of making someone feel something and the reason for that is noone has anything to write about anymore.
On their EP In God We Trust, Inc., they recorded an updated version of the song "California Uber Alles", titled "We've Got a Bigger Problem Now," about then-President Ronald Reagan, including a lounge-jazz introduction, different lyrics, and several verses set at a much slower pace.
well if thats ur logic that just because 2 songs sound the same they are the same, that meens theyre the same song, then dragonforce has 1 song, theres alot of songs like this one...
no big deal, but his is a different song than california uber alles. we've got a bigger problem is on their second album, whereas califormia uber alles is from their first album. hope this clears it up.
During the Jazzy part of the first verse, what chords is East Bay Ray using? I can't figure it out, I seem to get so close and then when I play it with the recording I know it's not the same. Thanks.
It's a radiation symbol, like from a fallout shelter. Wow, some people might not even know what a fallout shelter is. Growing up during the cold war.....

TRUE jazz from a punk rock band. Take THAT, Black Flag's Process of Weeding Out!

@Butzopower Hey! Weeding Out is a good album. Just more of a "free" jazz than this.

@samthomasmusic I agree to a point. I like the album, it's just that Greg Ginn's guitar playing can get kind of annoying.
