  • whoa... cruiser vs street lol weird riding combo :P cool:)

  • @Ve1cro :)

  • US30 if ur from MI sry bro

  • @MrHomeSkilet I would call US 30 the final version of Lincoln Highway. It roughly follows the path of Lincoln Highway in the twenties. The beginning and ending spots are a bit different and in Illinois parts of it follow Rt 38 instead of US 30.

  • get a zx12

  • @stratomaster5 The super horsepower bikes are certainly fun.

I am more a cruiser type and laurie likes the 250 size motorcycles for the light weight.

  • @stratomaster5 moron

  • @stratomaster5 get a life!!!!!!!! People can ride whatever they want and your opinion isn't worth shit

  • I think seven going back to when I was on another site. Six were vloggers and one had a channel and commented and participated but didn't do videos. Could be an eighth one but I'm not sure.

  • there is an arai video, that shows you how to tigten the arai shield to the helmet.

    Instant decrease in volume.

they say that helmets that come brand new, they probably still need to retigten the visor.

  • In the great taxonomy of the animal kingdom, what label is applied to the motorcycle vlogger? Hmm. What is the Latin for vlogger?

  • eques scriptor di motum

"rider recorder of motion" is the closest I get

  • Sounds to much like an equestrian for my taste. Maybe we can hash it out at DG3 if all goes according to plan. You are going, right?

  • Oh yes barring a family emergency or such my plans are to be there late in the afternoon on the 4th.

Maybe a bit later because I may stop and see SmyrnaCowboy on the way.

  • is that ear plugs?

maybe tighten the helmet shield a bit?

  • I did ask her about her helmet being noisy. Mine is very quiet. I didn't know that there were adjustments for the shield fitting to the shell. Then again I never looked. Maybe I will check when we ride together next time.

  • It's not from the shield. It's from underneath, especially the sides. My neck is too skinny. I have the same problem with every helmet I try, no matter how snug it fits on my noggin'.

Besides, even if it were super quiet, I would still wear the earplugs to protect my hearing as much as possible (engine noise, etc.). My hearing is important to me, as it was my job for a few years (and I learned a lot about how sensitive the human ear is (often without us realizing it).

  • haha, very nice! I really need to meet another vlogger! I've just been stuck with people who ride and say, "what's a vlogger?" lol

  • The amount of vloggers in the midwest seems to increase every month.

You are always welcome to come out and join us Ash. You can crash at my place if you are low on funds (as I always am) Ha ha.

My wife cooks a good home made chicken pot pie casserole.

  • She looks like a british police officer on a bike in that helmet and high viz' jacket!

  • Well if I ride in England that could help. Not much here I guess. The motorcycle cops here drive big cruiser bikes.

  • We have undercover police riders on big bikes, like the GSX-R. Hard to spot them when they're undercover, normally they have bluetooth headsets on their helmets and ride in groups, though alot of riders also do that!

  • Great assessment, Chuck! We are a breed apart in the motorcycling community! However, I'm afraid my camera setup would not be very interesting, as I just use a wee Cannon Powershot mostly. Still haven't bought a full-faced helmet. This winter, definitely! Done with freezing my face off!

    Great video!

  • When we do a meetup I would like to learn the post video editing and narration you do in your vids. Mostly making the narration NOT sound like narration. My attempts just don't sound very natural yet like yours do.

  • It would be a pleasure and an honor to share any methods, tricks or tips with you! And likewise, I would love to learn anything I could from you, about filming, or about the myriad things you could teach! You are quite the Jack-of-all-trades!

  • Wow SR you've met as my vloggers as I have!..We have to meet up someday to shrink all those degrees of separation..Lol..great vid..

"even among bikers, we are a different breed"

    Take care,

    Billy

  • After I finish my meetup with Iroquois14 in KC I will be going to Omaha for another meetup. August 11 around noon to 1pm. Some friends of mine are picking the spot to meet. Keep in touch and I will let you know.

  • Sounds good Chuck, I just shot ya a PM

  • I knew this was going to be a great vlog when I saw the 'DD' logo. Chuck, good to see a seasoned biker shepherding a younger biker, especially, where to get the best cup of joe.

  • Amen to that, pretty soon well have SR travelling the country to school all these noobs.

  • She doesn't like DD coffee and she rides a sport bike.

Now am I "tolerant" or what?

    LMAO ;-)

  • Never heard of DD Coffee? Tolerance levels rising Subrban? hehe

  • Sigh....wish I could ride with u guys tooo!!!

  • If you get the chance to come visit the midwest region we would be happy for you to join us.

I even have an extra bike ready to go.

  • Wow! Thank you for extending such a gracious offer! You are the coolest, suburbanryder!

    Aloha,

    808

  • A very nice surprise. Now I have to watch LJ's vid to get the other POV.

    Ain't V-logging grand. :-)

  • When I hear friends or family say people on the internet are not like "real" friends I just grin and chuckle to myself.

I use to think that too. :-)

  • Man, it took me forever to get the camera set up... I cut that part out when I posted the video I just posted (still uploading and processing as we speak). It would be a great outtakes as a response to your vid here. Lots of me muttering and sighing...

  • After about step 3 of your set up I got lost.

    LOL

But it works and the end result is a solid mount for the camera at the correct angle.

    That's the main thing.

  • If you noticed, I was getting confused myself when I was trying to explain it to you. LOL.

  • Dunkin Donuts!

    Wohoo!

    Now I want some donuts...

    then again..

    when do I not?

    lol

  • Actually... neither of us got donuts. I did get Zingers later on at a gas station, though... (my stomach doesn't feel so good now...) LOL

  • If I am not having a breakfast sandwich I usually get two plain donuts.

The coffee is the real treat it's so good I am like addicted to it.

  • aaahhhhhhhhhh............. i remember the days when i used to ride a 250cc. those were the days......... I would never ever go back to that bike again. hahahahaha! Get a 600 girl!

  • When you're only 100 lbs soaking wet, a 250 has plenty of kick to it. ;-)

  • Why some folks can't understand the joys of the ninja250 I'll never know. Personally I'm not really into them, but I'd never tell an owner to get something else... 'tis far better indeed (& way more fun btw) to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. idk why so many riders always overlook this truism.

LJ stick to the 250 & learn to master it 'cause if u do you'll be a much better rider for it. Work on ur skills & explore the FULL performance envelope of the 250...

  • I've seen the ninja250 at the track & it's plenty quick in the hands of a skilled rider... problem is many riders don't have the skills to understand that. I see (inexperienced) 600 riders getting passed by 250s on the track & the look on their poor faces is priceless! :-)

  • I'm sure she will when she is ready my friend...I've got a liter bike, have been lookin for a 250-400 lil runabout for the simple fun of it...weird how priorities change as you go along..

  • yep...... 250 is fun indeed!

  • "the vloggers" - a different breed.

awesome video man. I've been watching you since I knew about Youtube.

  • I think vlogging changes your brain connections. You look at things as you ride and thing Hmmmm camera angles... hmmmm how do I narrate this...

But what the heck I am having the most fun ever since I have started riding 32 years ago.

  • That is Very good to hear. I agree about vloggers being a different breed of motorcyclists.

    good insight

  • LJ! cool surprise.

  • She is like "energy" and "fun" bundled up in a 100 pound package.

  • Cool!! So what is the story about the mouse? More women need to ride me thinks. :) I feel that I am missing a video somewhere, will look now.

  • Video is....

    Mouse, Motorcycle, Road Trip, Shamu...

    channel name lauriejennifer

  • With u as a mentor & the amount of mileage she's racking up weekly, she'll be a seasoned pro b4 too long... She'll probably even gonna put out more of those *ahem* "squid only tutorials" too ;-) *heheheh*

Does she realize how fortunate she is to have u a mentor like u? Most noobs just wish they could be so lucky :-)

  • Oh & SR please try to talk her into putting some crash protectors on the ninja, never mind what she's says about looks *rolls eyes* ;-)

  • OK .... but first you convince my daughter to stop getting tatoos. That is much more likely to be successful.

And I give even that a snowballs chance in you know where of succeeding.

  • Ahhhh women... wha'cha gonna do... pretty soon she's gonna have flower decals & stuffed toys on the poor ninja *shakes head* LOL :-D

[& prob still complain about the 'looks' of crash protectors :-o ;-)]

  • Frame sliders get in the way of my lean angle. :-P

  • Ahhhhh, now see that's an objection I find acceptable LJ (not really tho, but it's the first 1 that I can respect - even if ur only joking ;-)

  • Her?

Does YouTube realize how lucky they are to have me making vlogs here. LOL just kidding......

Seriously she is doing fine and wants to start learning group rides. I have a special team of teachers for doing group rides. All of them are seasoned vets and close friends and family members of mine.

  • She'll be fine... as long as she respects ur authorit-ay!! *hahaha* :-D

  • Her plate is a Missouri plate and she is living in Illinois so even on the slight chance someone would do something it would be a dead end.

I think the thing about editing out plates is a bit over blown myself. Illinois only allows access to that info by law enforcement agencies and Secretary of State. And even then for business reasons only. Cops have gotten busted for running plates for personal reasons.

  • I totally agree with that statement suburban..

  • You know, I often wonder about whether or not to hide my plate. I imagine a really determined person could find info on me and "hunt me down," but since thousands of people see my plate as I ride anyway, I figure the risk is the same. Plus, should any fool actually try anything dumb, my wife is registrable as a lethal weapon, if not a weapon of mass destruction!

  • "Weapon of mass destruction" LOL

  • Oops, you showed her license plate. No big deal though since she always rides legally. Might want to edit those out anyway.
