  • Wow - what an extraordinary concert - thanks a mil for sharing this here - w00t !!!!!!!!

  • People at this concerte are so boring...they look like they don't know who is on the stage..

  • Gillan altready lost his voice((((

    so sad

  • Danke schön,coolman für´s reinstellen...

  • the vid more than awesome..noticed Steve Morse not playing his " bread n butter" guitar...Airey is just impossible...Perfect Stranger just Perfect..

  • sensational, spectacular,maravilloso

  • Absolutely marvellous! Just gonna order this DVD now with my HMV Christmas voucher! :-) DP and Dream Theater - only bands on the planet capable of pulling off this fusion of styles! Many thanks for posting. \m/

  • Why oh why wasn't Hard Lovin' Man in the live set list years ago!? It's a brilliant number from their hard rock defining classic In Rock.I remember the great Mr Lord (get well soon) said the police siren sounding organ solo in the song was one of his faves.

  • TONIGHT THEY ARE IN ARNHEM -HOLLAND !!!!

  • Retire Space Truckin'!

  • I cannot wait to see this band for the fourth time in Manchester on Tuesday.

  • do you have lazy by any chance? =]

  • I met with the band just before the toronto show (which kicked off the north american tour). was told don airey wrote all the orchestral arrangements and completed them 48 hours before the toronto show. group and orchestra did a 30 minute sound check that afternoon. thats all they require to 'hear' a massive production..... simply brilliant!

  • I'm a huge DP fan,but it's time for them to retire. One more dvd from old tired guys playing more or less the same song set every concert since mid 90's.The musicianship is great as always except Ian Gilan, his voice is disaster some times he sound like a sick rooster. In my opinion rock band+symphony orchestra=bad combination

  • @ivanmrkvc7 Your obviously not a HUGE DP fan!! They should keep going.... as Ian Paice said, till they physically can't keep going anymore. By the way, Ian Gillans voice in this concert was GREAT.. WHHHHYYYYTTTTTHHHHHAAAAANNNNNKKKKKYYYYYYYYYOU!!!!

  • @MrSteveMorse

Believe me kid,I am.Steve Morse is in top 10 guitar players of all times in my opinion. If you want a good DP dvd try Total Abandon '99 or California jam '74.Chill out it's just my opinion, you don't have to be such a hothead.CHEERS

  • @ivanmrkvc7 No Worries! And ur right, Total Abandon is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ivanmrkvc7 Shame their excellent cd Live At The Olympia '96 wasn't filmed as both Morse and Lord in particular were on fire in that gig. Caught them live in March of that year (Morse's first UK Tour with the band).

    Regards. David.

  • @DCHurlford1

I agree about the Olympia '96.CHEERS

  • Still the loudest band in the world!!!!!

    And the best!!!

Don't miss the subtle (besides the not-so-subtle) classical references in all the keyboard solos. Needs a true genius to do this.

  • I'm sick of "Long Live Ritchie"!!! Steve has been in the band for longer than Blackmore now and Steve is a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better guitarist. Steve is also one of the nicest guys you will EVER meet. (I have met him twice). Ritchie writes the songs, Steve plays them properly!!

  • this is all very sad and bad, mark 2 is only viable deep purple. richie blackmore wrote all the music hope he gets some royalties for this crap, steve morse so bad, i have no respect for him, long live ritchie

  • One of the best DP consert I ever heard. Awesome

  • 24:06 Feel like a Boss!!!

  • Thank for uploding.

    Great recording.

Gillian sings better then the version from 2009.

He sings in key. In the other version he faled out of tune.

    This is reely good.

  • The only song when the orchestra actually works, is during "perfect strangers" that sounds just HUGE! but for the rest of the songs at least in this vid is not thaaat good :-/

  • @holymariner1

Perfect strangers is actualle awesome with the orchestra! But I think that the orchestra makes the music fuller in every song! I was there and I just loved the show:)

  • Can't wait for the whole DVD! That was the best Concert ever: I saw deep Purple, I was in the front row, There is a dvd about it, and I got Steve Morse's Plectrum...What can I say?:D

  • This is amazing! Can't wait for the DVD. Will see Deep Purple in December!

  • The akward moment when due to the absence of top comment you put your mind in work to find a comment good enough to become a top one.

  • Wonderful, still full of vitality!

  • Ian Paice is still awesome. Looks a little out of breath though. Has anyone else heard that Ian only has one lung ?? I've seen it written once but have not been able to confirm this.

  • @purpledude603 this is true...

  • @shotguy1 Thanks for the info.

  • @purpledude603 Yes it's true... :/

  • @akisspyros Thanks my friend...Cheers !

  • @akisspyros I just read a quote from Ian that he said a piece of his lung was removed. He said he has more than one lung just not two whole lungs.

  • @purpledude603 Me too.

  • Deep Purple awesome and Ian Gillan after all this years still screaming.......adorable!!

  • Is there anyone who hasn't adored DP after that?!

  • The band is awesome as always it is painful to listen to hear Gillan sing though

  • Basta Montreux!!! io ero a Verona e speravo pubblicassero quello di concerto perchè è stato FAVOLOSO!!!!! e poi non c'è paragone come location!!!

  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

  • Awesome!!!

    Thanks coolman7171!

  • @tour93 very welcome!

  • Here we go again: the 4th dvd recorded in Switzerland...they play all over the planet in wonderful places with bigger crowd but...I can't understand this choice...I begin to hate Montreux...The Verona gig should have been published...

  • @nazzare79 i agree, the crowd on the Montreux dvds by other artists are shit too..

  • @nazzare79 why in Montreux!?? Because Funky Claude is gonna make money out of these dvds!!:)

  • @coolman7171 sorry, Iwas wrong, I tought Deep Purple should make money with their job, not Funky Claude...

  • @coolman7171 shouldn't be Deep Purple to make money with their own work? anyway I wait the Verona dvd...it should be out in November but this is not an official info, just rumors...

  • @nazzare79

I've heard they will release both!

  • @TheSGTNicolai yes, the Verona dvd is planned to be out in november 2012...

  • @nazzare79

why in november 2012?! this is such a long time to go...

  • @nazzare79 It's in montreux because they have a special feeling with that place. This is where the fire was on wich their song smoke on the water is based. The first line of the song says it: "We all came down to montereax, wich is the same as Montreux. That's why their dvd's are recorded there. ;)

  • @paulermo1 that's not the real reason for sure...contract issues is the one...probably the monterux stuff record dvd for free (or for a cheap price) but they take money on the sales while making themselves publicity with the title...hundreds of famous artists record their dvd there...

  • Shit! Much better than I feared when I heard about this DVD! Will buy:-)

  • stupendooooooo
