You have to wonder where these bands get there song titles from, this probably came to someone while they were on the bog and added the tune. Wishbone Ash got their name whist riding in a taxi and seeing a newspaper cutting with that headline. Still, Floyd are one of my favourite bands...rock on Dave!

'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' is a song about their first singer 'Syd Barrett.' Syd went insane and was replaced with David Gilmour. The song was made in memory of Syd, and conveys different emotions of how they felt during the time he was with the band, and how the think he may feel now ('now' as in when they recorded it)

yeah see the comment below mine. it is about syd barrett. im guessing the title has to do with the fact that they all thought sid was a rare talent. something beautiful and rare, like a diamond. and as we all know he went crazy. but he will shine on forever, and never be forgotten. therefore, "shine on you crazy diamond" something like that

Hmmm "One of These Days" is in Bm - I guess the wind effect and slide gat is similar. This track is in Gm (The double bass is usually tuned to G - however, i think the bass player in this band has it tuned to Eb) - if that helps at all n i agree - it's a great piece of "musique"

Have we come to this? Comparing what band is best by hit albums? Tool is not the next Pink Floyd, you can never match their sound, or even get close. I love Tool, but Pink Floyd is just in a league of it's own.
