  • No star wars. Star peace, man.

  • oh i'm sorry, i didn't know this was the political bitch talk video. i could've sworn in the title said "2+2=5 by Radiohead". Let me check again.

Oh wait, IT STILL DOES. So shut up about your stupid ass US vs. Brit talk. nobody gives a flying fuck. Take your pointless talking to a message-feed or somethin, nobody cares what you have to say. Politics are important to discuss, but not the mindless bickering you two are having.

yeah metalfacedoom7, maddhattertime i'm talkin to you.

  • ed is tall as fuck

  • I wouldn't say in general most Americans are retarded.

However, I think it's fine to say in general most of mankind is retarded.

  • @TKOblue Or to put it another way. You feel you are significantly more intelligent than most of the human race.

  • @annedrodgyness: I'm definitely not intelligent enough to detect sarcasm, because your comment blows my mind. :D

Sorry for the nihilism. I don't actually believe that. We all get in those "fuck everyone"-moods. Mine are just more frequent. Sometimes I need to double-check the space between my legs to make sure a bleeding vagina hasn't replaced my penis.

    Have a nice day, regardless.

  • If I were to read up on British history, would I find any examples of invasion, exploitation, murder, or hegemony? For your sake, Englishmen, maybe it's good that Americans are ignorant. Otherwise, we would be very aware of your own reputation as world-wide butchers as well. Even to this day. Get the hell out of Ireland you twats. PS I actually love and respect the English, I just hate reading these inane comments (and I hate myself for contributing).

  • Wow, I never appreciated the vocal harmony in this song till JUST now.

  • love Thom's t-shirt

  • Comment removed

  • brits bash americans? well fuck the brits then

  • purrrrr fection!

  • And 2 and 2

    sounds best done live

  • love the show

  • phil is the most calm drummer in rock history

  • @creepweirdo123 It's probably Neil Peart.

  • @creepweirdo123 The only one who'd dare bother suiting up, too. Total badass.

  • @creepweirdo123 he's also one of the most creative

  • Just spoke to Thom, he is ashamed of you, so am I & your Mom too (she says please don't visit soon) Just tried 2 hour yoga session but after reading your comments, you are still a class A numero uno assssshole. Let the power of Christ compel you........

  • Colins glasses XD

  • need a tissue, need a tissue, need a tissue.

  • Quien no le guste, no le gusta la buena música, esto es realmente maravilloso!

  • Thought Thom was vegan. Get that jacket off sonny.

  • i think he might be elven

  • the beautiful irony of playing this in America...... genius.

I don't really think they were paying attention, paying attention.....

  • @metalfacedoom7 Who said this was about america's gov.?

  • @teejay89656 - the thief is Bush, stole the election in Miami?? remember??

  • @metalfacedoom7 Thom Yorke said the political overtones were mostly unintentional and weren't based upon America specifially as some sort of "take that". Enjoy some thoughtful music without bashing others or get your pretentious crap out of here.

  • @ThePhilomancer - What an asshole you are. Total fucking idiot, check ya sources.

    watch?v=9nHK9iqdoDo&feature=related

@ 5:20 to make it easy for you...

  • @metalfacedoom7 There's something to be said about another who can take a title drop of the album name and apply it to the entire song nonetheless an entire album, one which even has an alternate title, "The Gloaming". And for the record: "I was cutting these things out, and deliberately taking them out of context, so they're like wallpaper. Then, when I needed words for songs I'd be taking them out of this wallpaper, and they were out of any political context at all."

  • @ThePhilomancer >> err.. did you even watch the clip? Yorke explains it for you, he is the artist that you so inaccurately quote. You are ironically pretentious ("weren't based upon America specifiCally")

& Rambling about the Gloaming doesn't make you right about playing 2+2=5 on the Late Show. Jesus, Mary & Joseph you are a fucking idiot.

  • @metalfacedoom7 I did, and he explained that the album has some ties to the Bush Administration, who were admittedly inept at decision making on numerous occasions, but it wasn't meant to be a deprecation of the entirety of the United States like you were making it out to be. You seem to be taking your anger to unnecessary extremes, I suggest yoga.

  • @metalfacedoom7 You're silly for thinking that but I do like the reference to the song very clever. It must have taken a genius Brit to think of that one.

  • @themandude1123 -- silly? I think if you reflect that the group are quite political & that Thom's face is quite serious at the end of the song... & that the song is blatantly directed at the Americans who did not vote in the election to keep that particular Republican out of office..... then i think it's clear the intended irony is not lost on the group......

  • @metalfacedoom7 Yeah, you're right. Between the honor killings, shariah courts, Anjem Choudhary, the EDL, the BNP, Britain is really a paragon of sophistication. We bow to your wisdom. At least you didn't adopt the Euro or you'd be in a total death spiral... you're close as it is.

  • @HandInGlove2 hahahhahahaha - US Govt lost trillions, then inside job happens!!!! hahahaha

    ..

    watch?v=xU4GdHLUHwU

  • @metalfacedoom7 That's not irony you buffoon. Satirical, sure, but not ironic.

  • @maddhattertime --- "Satire - Noun - the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc." -- - Am i satirising you stupidity or were you being ironic to see if i was paying attention ???

  • @metalfacedoom7 Since you feel the need to bring dictionaries into this, "Irony, incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs" How is them playing that song in the US ironic? Should you have been paying attention (and not a colossal wanker) you would've noticed this.

  • You child! Who told you that you can speak with men? The song is labelling /blaming US citizens for voting in (or failing to vote out) President Bush who stole the election & made the world worse. The audience acceptance that it's just a song (what might be expected) is different from the performance (what actually occurs). They miss the mockery & he is in their backyard too > that's ironic. The fact you have access to a dictionary & still dont "get it" is clearly ironic. Try again . . . .

  • @metalfacedoom7 "The audience [sic] acceptance that it's just a song..." how exactly did you arrive at the conclusion that the audience didn't perceive the underlying meaning of the song? Audiences cheer, genius, that's what they do. And the song would've gotten the exact same reception irrespective of the location. Did you expect someone to raise their hand and give a lengthy dissertation on the song's political merits. Also, I see you've been quite prolific here. I'm sure you have many friends

  • @maddhattertime - okay so now you are ignoring the fact you don't "get" irony. I didn't think the audience would boo but the fact you are a yank explains your comment. The band you like are British and they have zero respect for the average American BECAUSE they don't pay attention. As for being popular... .why not post a comment up & let's see you get some thumbs up...... keep trying yank ...

  • @metalfacedoom7 LOL! You may not realize this being the emotionally underdeveloped basement dweller you appear to be, but getting thumbs up on an online comment does not equate real popularity. That's like saying a drawing of a sandwich is just as tasty and edible as the real thing. I think it's pretty clear I needn't waste anymore time acknowledging you. (And btw, Hispanic =/= Yank). Cheers mate!

  • @maddhattertime I welcome you not wasting time on me... you didn't know what irony really was (ironic!!) and I assumed by your page referring to you being in America that you were in fact American. Hispanic, illegal alien or original American with voting rights, well this song is about you... "it's too late now...." listen to Thom talkin to you directly..... it's a political song, it's a personal song, it's accusing a generation of apathy.... you are just too dumb to see it.

  • @metalfacedoom7 I was going to stop replying, but it just has to be said:

    1. I got the song's meaning the first time I heard it.

    2. I wasn't even old enough to vote when bush was "elected"

    3. I presently vote and keep up with current affairs.

Seriously man, just stop. It's getting embarrassing watching you make an ass of yourself by making so many false assumptions. You've failed. Go home. (to SoMusic15, I never said anything bad about the UK)

  • @maddhattertime hahahha priceless. Mate you didn't get the irony part & you started calling me names (buffoon & wanker) not the other way around. I am glad you vote but that still doesn't explain how you didn't know what irony is or even get the relevance of the UK band playing "this" song in the States. I didn't fail... i shared a joke with other Radiohead fans (not you) who saw the irony. You actually thought it was satire!!! just give it up now... next you'll tell us you are dating now !!!

  • @metalfacedoo stop generalizing americans..

  • Comment removed

  • the song is generally about Americans, generally not voting out Bush before he stole the election in Florida in a general election, generally.....

  • @metalfacedoom7 I generally voted against the fucker. not all americans supported bush...generally...

  • @dharmapunkchick i hear you & i am glad you did... not enough followed you though... hence the song!!!! It's the devil's way now........ in general...

  • @metalfacedoom7 Not voting him out before he stole the election in Florida? That was his first presidential election...

  • @minusjason a drunkard son of the previous Republican president, campaigning with little or no international experience...... did he really need to have one term to show people that he shouldn't have been President???

  • @metalfacedoom7 You said the song is about Americans not voting out Bush before he stole the election in Florida. My point was that it would be impossible to vote him out before that, because he hadn't been voted in yet.

  • @minusjason i think the warning signs were there to keep him out att he first presidential election & for sure NOT to give him a second term.... but then America did give a C class actor the job in the 80s... so.... go figure!!!! IT'S TOO LATE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @minusjason The band strongly denies that it was about Bush though. They said, "it would be too easy" to make fun of him.

  • @metalfacedoom7 Not really. David Letterman would've completely agreed with the notion, had they explained it.

  • Love how this song just fucking explodes halfway through

  • ok break it down:

Thom is wearing a leather effing jacket

Phil is rocking a WHITE SUIT - classy

Ed is harmonizing like nobody's business

    Colin is wearing sunglasses..... indoors!!

    Jonny is awesome as usual

    In other words: Stellar

  • that was fucking dope man

  • Thom Yorke's eyes where closed almost the whole time, then his eyes slowly started to open at just the right time. THAT WAS BEAST AS HELL

  • If you like Radiohead then check out A Cult Like Vulture Youtube Channel!!

  • Thom's poor little hand....ouch

  • i bet you beethoven will appreciate this composition if he is still alive.

  • i like how thom yorke's lyrics read to me. for me it's about the thief that was bush and how everyone turned a blind eye to his debauchery. so hail to the thief and the sky is falling, but it's not. hah love it. sounds like that's what he's saying to me anyway. i don't have the time to wiki that shit and double check if i'm accurate. but i do have the time to post this long fucken bullshit comment.

Thanks a shit ton RADIOHEAD for making my adolescence that much more awesome.

  • 43 don't like Radiohead and Radiohead don't care 43.

  • thom.... leather? really??? are you actually a vegan??

  • @josemontenegro777 maybe its synthetic

  • @somebassplayer580 perhaps... anyway, it really has been a long tie since this performance, right? at leat I don't know how long he has been a vegan

  • @josemontenegro777, i think he does it for health purposes, and being cold in new york isn't really that healthy, so the fucken cow had to die. or lamb, from the look of it. shit i'd sport a tight lambskin coat like that

  • @thSubliminalCriminal health purposes...?? that's the biggest bullshit I read today... "it's fake leather" or "he wasn't vegan back then" would do decently

  • @josemontenegro777, is that how you talk to people? hah i bet you sniff your fingers after eating cabbage bare handed. don't worry about it so much, you'll blow something you wish you hadn't.

  • superbe, magnifique a ecouter sans moderation

  • I just want to kiss this all over

  • 43 people dislike the vid

  • Thom's so cool

  • Totally beyond the average American...!

  • Thom looks pissed

  • @bnmyuiop your an idiot lol

  • 42 dislikes??!! perfect version of a magnificent song...what's to dislike??

  • Damn, way to go on the bkg vocals Ed.

  • Ed looks awesome with long hair.

  • I love this performance of this song. The only one that could top it MAYBE would be Glastonbury 2003, imo.

  • I will always relate this song to the 2 terms of the Bush administration. I felt the penetration was how far we all were gonna get it shoved up our asses. The whole album was fitting for the times and made me sink into the madness of the music perfectly.

  • No country can claim a band, thats the point for the music they make.UK, not all yanks are the same. Just saying

  • No country can claim a band, thats the point for the music they make.UK, not all yanks are the same. Just saying

  • мне нравится, и это главное

  • fuckin bored of reading brits bash amercians and vice versa. just shut the fuck up and listen to thom yorke

  • @HorrorShow100 come on not just thom yorke, all of radiohead

  • Fuck off you Yankee shite go Hail to the thief like you all do!!

  • Or maybe because they are capitalist automat pigs trained to obey and defend their bureaucracy since they are born while Europeans read books and play football everyday of their lives!!!

  • Do you pay attention to all the lyrics and what they're all about?? You wouldnt be proud to be American let me tell you that! Watch meeting people is easy and Thom Yorke's opinion on Americans worshiping celebrities.

  • damn it, now I can't unhear "penetration"

  • Radiohead is too brilliant for americans to understand

  • @doggiesteigger Not true. I adore them completely. Favorite band right here in Georgia, USA for the last 8 years.

  • @doggiesteigger Then why does your profile say "United States"?

  • @doggiesteigger It must be because British people have highly evolved brains and Americans are dumb. What are you stupid? What Americans are you speaking of?

  • @doggiesteigger shut up twat

  • If Thom's strumming hand was my wanking had i wouldn't last long! :-\

  • @gasson2k lol funny

  • Very Beatlesc

  • Colin is the only person who can pull those glasses off...

    and he ain't no hipster

  • I'd spend my last dime to see Radiohead again.

  • hail to the thief is my favorite album because it has the best breakdowns

  • The cameraman completely ignored jonny, unforgivable

  • David Letterman is a cunt. And that is no mere opinion, it is an objective fact of reality. I wonder which dumb cunt celebrities he interviewed before the artists showed up.

  • @epiphonematt You talk about objective facts and yet use an insult as vague as "cunt"

  • @antisadism ...theres nothing vague about "cunt"? Its about as too the point as you can get, you cunt! Did you get that?

  • @epiphonematt Somebody needs a hug...

  • @epiphonematt So you're insulting him because he had to pay his dues? Have you actually read 1984? Because stating that an opinion is a fact is a rather Orwellian thing to do, you know.

  • i like how they released this album the same year as Kings of Leon released their first

  • so fucking awesome!

  • Thom Yorke contained his composure through the video.

I WANT MORE PSYCHO BUNNY DANCE.

  • wowwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dave letterman looks like a huge radiohead fan

  • Don't know what's wrong with me. Doubted it was live at all at the start literally note perfect...

  • how could anyone dislike this??
