Now this is excellent. Singing Riperton's song is akin to approaching "Hamlet." Bound with expectations from the audience and prone to disappointment. But like dealing with The Bard there is always room for interpretation. And Jayanti, along with her accompanist, tackles the material with aplomb and originality. They don't try to mimic Minnie, which is neigh impossible, but make the song their own. Bravo!

Nice video! You have a lovely voice and let me tell you, I don't usually like anybody, especially people trying to do other folks songs, but you really did a great job with this. And this is not an easy song to sing. The first time, I just listened to the song without even looking at the video because I didn't want that to influence me. I just wanted to hear it. Truly and I mean this literally, I haven't heard anyone sing this song so masterfully since Minnie until I checked out Jayanti's cover of "Inside my love" so that's saying a whole heck of alot. So There's Minnie original version #1 followed closely by in the number #2 spot is this young lady's cover. No doubt.

I was going to suggest holding the camera instead on having it on a stand for some extra feel and then your friend panned it like an absolute professional. He framed you two really well. Loving the tones, the colour palette, the contrast and the gamma. Keeping the edit clean works just fine but I've got a suggestion if you do another song with a feel like this: some kind of subtle, angular, earth-toned psychedelics on a green screen and we need to see more of those big, hypotic eyes.
