I think Tom learned how to sing properly when he formed Angels & Airwaves, which is why he sounds so much better at their concerts. He had voice problems when blink reformed because he was trying to sing the way he used to with blink when he had been using a different technique for so long.

To all the people saying he's not using auto-tune, you're wrong - he is. Auto-tune is a real-time pitch correction plugin and it is quite obvious it's being applied to the vocals during the chorus. Doesn't make the song any less awesome though.

@rclifford13 no your wrong sir. I've worked with pitch corrector. If you listen to the 2nd chorus he is off key a couple notes. Pitch corrector would have fixed it IF he was using it. Tom sang really good during I-Empire era because he was sober. There isn't any autotune or PC being used.

@TheCoryRyanShow There is definitely pitch correction. It is very subtle in order to still sound natural, meaning that very off-key notes will still sound off key (unlike auto-tune).The pitch corrector is extremely obvious around 1:58 - 2:02 (listen to it again).

@AllSheilacan It's because he has something called a voice harmonizer when he's with AvA, which basically stretches out the notes in the same pitch to make a ghostly effect, that's why when he sings with blink he sounds like he lets go of the note too early, doesn't stretch it at all. I think he should use it with blink, it makes him sound amazing!

He is using Pitch Correction, it is a form of autotune, alot of artists use it live and nearly all artists in recordings. It's been around for a long time people. No big deal people. It's like a light autotune.

There are more than one setting on auto-tune effects, its not necessarily a bad thing but there is an auto-tune effect here. You don't have to believe it but he is still having to try to sing the right notes otherwise the auto-tune wont work.

This is the first vid I have watched today of tom(and I have watched a good chunk f vids, both BLink and AvA) that shows he can sing decently. In alot of the vids I watched, he just sings really badly, does weird little vocal hicups, etc. This shows that if he stops goofing around, and sticks in his range, he -can- sing decently, and he has a unique tone to his voice.
