didnt "screamo" (yet another stupid subgenre) evolved from "emo" or at least proto emo like rites of spring, embrace, fugazi and the whole "DC 85" scene thing? i thought that then west coast bands like heroin did what became screamo in like late 80s early 90s based off of that stuff? but of course. arguing about subgenres and where they develop from comes across as useless and pretentious to me, that is if you cant appreciate a band as its own entity. I don't find anything wrong with categorizing a band into a genre. The human mind works by categorizing. When you try to relay the sound of a band to someone, genres becoming convenient. But obsessing over specific-sub-sub-subgenres is silly. A band name is the ultimate subgenre, for when you hear the words "At the Drive-In," you know the exact sound being discussed, as opposed to generic terms like "post-hardcore."

Enough rambling from me... the production on this album is better than R.O.C.'s

Music as unique as the sound of ATDI simply cannot be put into a genre. It works against that very idea, its free and transends through many different genres in seconds. The same could be said with TMV, although many would say that they are true "Experimental Jazz-rock Fusion"

And in all honesty, i don't care what genre they are, a good bands a good band and this is my Favourite Band.

I'm glad you posted that comment. ATDI always had insanely cryptic lyrics, but this one song really puzzled me. When I read your interpretation, I looked over the lyrics and realized that it made sense; this song could definitely be about a relationship.
