dodo just rang to offer me this too, plus internet and home phone (ADSL2+) for $59.80 a month unlimited. Does anyone else have this with dodo what is your experience with dodo as an internet provider? I asked for a couple of days to decide as I'm with westnet at present & I love westnets tech service and staff, but I a mlooking around for something a little cheaper.

@turkanator123 its not so much a battery hog, its the fact it only has two small batteries inside. and yes if you turn off the pad with the switch it actually disconects the batteries for some reason

Anybody know how to transfer apps from internal memory to a flash card? Theres not much room for many apps & im tired of deleting an old app just to make room. I got 3gb free on the flash card but cant work out how to install apps on it.

I recently bought one of these for $50 because previous owner says its "bricked". When I turn it on, it doesn't get passed the "android" screen. If anyone can provide me with a nandroid backup for the pendo pad, id realy appreciate it.

@intheshitter ive lent mine to a friend for a couple of weeks. have you tried booting into safemode, just hold down the round power for about 10 seconds after it turns on.

@MrWilliamtomkinson Thanks for the tip, I gave it a shot but it didn't do anything. Just stays on the android screen. I'm pretty shocked at the lack of support for this device. Ive been literally googling for hours trying to find any info I can even if I can use the firmware from another android pad.

The Moonse e7001 looks pretty identical to the pendo but its not easy finding the firmware for that either.

@ShmOprah have you tried the hard reset button (little pinhole on base, need a pin to press). you will have to look in the manual but i think you hold it down for 10 seconds

@MrWilliamtomkinson Thank you for your reply :o) I've had a look but there's no 'reset button'. Along the bottom there's holes for 1. Power, 2. HeadPhones, 3. USBport, 4. On/Off, 5. USBport, 6. MemoryCard, 7. Mic. but NO reset. The Mic hole is TINY & I stuck a pin in there until I looked again & realised it was labelled 'Mic'. Dah! There are speaker slots on the back & the only other button/hole is the sliding button on top !!? So no luck yet :o( .. but thank you for trying!

My partner got one of these pieces of shit after I got my galaxy tab and she is extremly disappointed it has crap storage when you compare it to the galaxy tab and it can not have a sim put in it and all in all it is a piece of crap that she regrets getting and wishes she could shove it up a stupid DODO customer service agents arse. @badboy2400 im sorry you feel that way. however, you seem to be missing the point. when the tablet came out it was a cheap way to get a android tablet. it cannot have a sim in it as its not 3g (this is stated in the specs). its been 5-6 months since this tablet has been released. since than the galaxy tab, Xoom and many others have come out, they are not $200 tablets and cannot be compared to one. my point is still valid, if you want a cheap tablet to get into the android experence, these are ok

@YGOSeeker not really. yes its possible but its not easy . it did increase battery, nearly double actually, but it was part of the upgrade i did to 2,2. also not easy, or super successful. until i can (or probably someone smarter) figures and easy way to upgrade,, im not even going to mention how. except to say it is possible with patience and time.

@Stardust152 you get them from dodo.com.au, they come with different internet plans, or you can use wireless, and you will eventually need a micosd card, it does have some internal memory, but 2 gig cards are only about $8 now.

Just wanted to say, very good review. I'm considering getting one of these, just for mobile internet and what not while out. I like that you started off by mentioning the bad things first, and while agree that some of them are "touchy", like the SD card sticking out, they're nothing to be really sorta worried about.

Now, I'm wondering. Is it possible to upgrade the Android software to the latest version? I'm an iPhone whore, so I've not looked into these things.

I just recently got this tablet and it's going fine so far, it is a bit laggy but it's great for the price. Do you know if there is any way to make it so when you lock it, it won't turn on if the screen is touched? Because in the case it turns on every time you touch the screen and I don't want to turn it on ever time i need it.

@dillonp23 Also the battery hasn't been going very well, but you said yours was pretty good. I left mine with wifi and 3G off and left it locked and after about 30 minutes it went from 100% to 89% but that's doing nothing and nothing running in the background.

@dillonp23 untill i can come up with a easy way of removing the cell standby, the best thing to do is turn of wifi or 3g and lower the screen brightness when possible, its a bit of a pain, but only takes a couple of seconds. my battery is getting better, i can get through most of a day without really trying now

@MrWilliamtomkinson I turned off the two middle icons on the widget (i think 3g and not sure what the other one is) and that helped it out a lot. I left it for a few hours and it barely wen't down which is good. Only problem is how if you touch the screen it turns on, annoying when its in a case. I'll definately turn brightness down when not using it, thanks that should help a bit.

A friend and I were looking at the Dodo plan you mentioned in the video, which would be the 10$ a month plan over 24 months. We were actually surprised at how they could afford to offer something like this at such a low costing monthly plan. Your review gave me a much more in depth demonstration on how it works, the quality, etc. And I am quite impressed with the pad itself. My question is, Do you think it's worth getting? Also, I feel as though I could put this device to alot of use

BUT the modem itself may not detect, you can try and see what happens, if not just remove the simcard from telstra modem and insert it in dodo modem, change apn's etc and it should be fine. @leboboy911 the t-hub is not an android device and the minium cost over 24 months is over $2000 (fine print), the my tab is only $269 ($29 dearer) outright but you still need data plan. it has a better camera and has 3g built in. so at the end of the day it comes down to what suits you.
