  • I wish I could get a dog like that. I've been trying for years. Last year I almost got hit by a car cause I had a seizure while crossing the street. I keep getting turned down because of funding. And I have several seizures a week.

  • We got an American Bulldog puppy at 6 weeks, my daughter is 17 and has Tonic Clonic seizures in her sleep. When our dog was 6 months old he began pacing up and down the hallway between our bedroom and my daughters, her door was closed. I kept asking him if he had to go out but he didn't, then he began to whine and stop outside her door. Finally I realized his behavior was so unusual I went into my daughters room and he followed whining, within minutes she began to suffer a TC...truly amazing dog

  • This is awesome, I've been doing a presentation on service dogs for an education class at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. This video provides so much insight for students that do not know otherwise.

  • I have a service dog...a 3 pound poodle-chihuahua. They don't always have to be big dogs. My dog is also for seizures and for other things related to my disability. It's amazing! Just a tip for you that think they're expensive: you can train your own. But aside from that, you have to realize the price you put on one is about 1% their worth, they're worth more than gold to their recipients. I trained my own and he's amazing!

  • Dogs are so amazing. <3 I've had a few seizures in my life and both my dogs knew when I was going to have one. They weren't service dogs in any way either.

  • jkljh

  • i wont say just German Sheperd only because if you train a dog correctly, basic training, he/she will learn to trust and be loyal to you.

  • We have placed other breeds with Seizure Assist clients. German Shepherds are great dogs, but you are right, the training and bonding are the most important factors.

  • what organization would this be that helps with Assisted Services? I want to recomend this place to a person

  • aren't they? We're currently looking for a seizure response dog for our 6 year old son. But man..they are definately high priced but they are worth it. I'm hoping to find our 4 legged angel soon.

  • dogs are incredible
