  • EPIC..one of the best end scenes ever created in a movie..brings me to tears every time i watch it!!! brilliance.

  • This is always going to be one of my favorite moments in history..its just so sad and its so amazing that he was able to forgive him

  • This scene summed up every true lesson that I learned in the almost 2 decades that I have trained in the martial arts. This was (in my opinion) one of the absolute best martial arts movies ever made. It was hard NOT to cry when you saw this scene.

  • 3.48 onwards. chokes me up everytime.

  • I introduced this movie to my friends and they were making fun of it the whole time. Once this scene started, everyone was sucked into it. Everyone shut up and all eyes were on the screen. It's truly a moving scene. Great movie!

  • one of the best scenes ever!!great movie!

  • It's too bad that the "real world" (for whatever that means)...

...doesn't often end up this way. :(

  • I always cried to this scene when I watch it. Even to this day. Very touching moment. This movie is very underrated.

  • I dare anyone to say they didn't watch this scene was not truly moved by it. This was the very essence of Martial arts.

  • Goddamn Eric Roberts..his cheesy overracting got me again. As soon as he was crying, I was already going sobby before I even got to Phillip...damn!

  • I cry like a baby every time i watch this scene.

  • way too emotional

  • Ive never even seen this movie and the ending almost made me cry

  • I remember how a wise man pointed out to me how this ending was so touching. He said it was because all of us are both Dae Han and Tommy. We've all done things we've regreted and all of us have been victims as well. This scene epitomizes how they are both the same person. And how revenge, while it ultimately brought them together, wasn't so sweet. Deep scene that makes the toughest feel jat least a little.

  • @MrFuckaire This is incredibly insightful, and whoever that wise man was, he nailed it.

  • hey I get teary-eyed everytime I watch this part. I lost my brother at a young age like Tommy did. Its not easy not having your best friend around... thank you very much for the load

  • Why didn't he just go over and knock him down without killing him?

  • @DrBananaKing7000 Yeah...he coulda knocked him out like Van Damme did in bloodsport against the sumo wrestler when he just touched his forehead and pushed him back!

  • "...NO"

  • just an amazing we film

  • when he puts that ribbon around tommy......i tear up like crazy every time..beautiful ending

  • best martial arts movie ever made

  • always makes me cry...no matter what age i watch it at

  • Such an awesome movie

  • this scene always pulls at my heart strings still after all these years

  • If Tommy Lee drops his ice cream cone, you are 11 degrees of fucked.

  • I don't cry at the ending, but I am willing to admit that my eyes get a little misty.

  • @cjwlilywhite look in 2 the china's real thoughts... tao te ching only book that is true...they were both star dust...brothers

  • I saw this film for the first time on channel 5 last night. Awesome film and the OST is good too.

  • the intense emotion that simon and phillip rhee, put in this part, is quite something, considering they are primarily martial artist´s, playing a part in a martial art´s film..in other word´s that´s pretty good acting!

  • BEST ENDING EVER!!!!

    Wait 3 rd best

    1st Rocky

    2nd Karate Kid

    3rd Best of the Best.

  • NO

  • TO SAVE A LFE LIFE IN DEFEAT IS TO EARN FICTORY AND HOUNR WITHIN YOUR BROTHER TO, WHAT A GREAT FRIGHTER, I DEEPLY REGREAT YOUR LOSS AND I OFFER MY SELF AS YOUR BROTHER, even through they are brothers in reall life, what a great film, all four off them are , xx i am just going to get the film and watch it

  • I watched this movie sooo many times when I was a kid. What is wrong with the world today is that there are not any movies made any more with this kind of message.

    Great post, thanks.

  • This is easily the Greatest Martial Arts movie of all time, great acting, and the moves...you cant fake.

Peace to all brothers and sisters of all arts, we are one! We stand united! Always.

  • THE BEST

  • Kinda gets you right there..

  • PAP it tommy!! PAP IT!

  • @Smitty1586 winninga winning. youre obviously not a winner

  • i always get emotion when he mentions "your brother" or offering himself as his brother :'(

  • bloody best movie ive seen in a while you dont get beter than this

  • yep one off the best ending ever bloody primo ending and movie

  • i cried with this, he was right when you save a life in defeat is to earn victory within, not what physhicologists said take care only about yourself.

  • I'm glad people are still watching this scene.

This is a real film-maker's scene.

  • I didn't remember this. Two honorable men doing the right thing. If you can not live your life with honor, is that really a life?

  • Awesome movie

  • Najlepsyz Film karate....

  • How in the hell did everybody in the arena hear what was being said at the end

  • A Rare movie which displays the honor in Martial Arts, And that winning isn't everything. You don't see a lot of that in movies these days. And the end here is an painfully underrated tear-jerk moment.

  • If you don't cry watching this there is something WRONG with you!!

  • THe last scene made me cry

  • I just watched this movie the other night on TV and thought that this ending was just brilliant. I loved the background music as Dae Han offers himself to be Eric's brother. I just can't stop watching this ending; it's just so good. I do Taekwon-Do and will be competing in the British at the end of the year. Does anyone know the compoers of this background music? Just a great ending

  • @WarriorOfShadows99 The composer is Charlie Major, and the name of the track is Someday I'm Gonna Ride in a Cadillac.

  • @mark84j Hey thanks a lot mate. Thanks for posting up this ending though. Just can't get bored of it. Wonderful ending to a great Martial Art film. I'll be buying myself a copy of it this thursday.

  • @WarriorOfShadows99 Who's Eric?

  • @EroSenninTaicho aww, its tomy's older brother. the korean man he faught again killed tommy's brother (eric) many years ago. The black/white flashback was the fight when eric died.. :/

  • @WarriorOfShadows99 Marco Beltrami - Radio is the background music

  • @WarriorOfShadows99 Original Score Medley -best of the best, enjoy

  • @WarriorOfShadows99 ahum..no he offerd to be tommys brother...

  • 1:04 "NO!" lol

  • this ending is really like martial art''s spirit...the respect of the opponent

  • @kdixon7783c Shut up.

  • @mark84jwow kdixon... this ending wasnt even close to almost like rocky balboas endings...

  • @mark84j LOL

  • @kdixon7783c Rocky was very, very cheesy in parts 3 and 4. And 5, to an extent.

  • @kdixon7783c LOL nice *smiles*

  • I like this movie but I love this scene. I must agree with anyone who says that it is one of the best endings to a movie of all times.

The movie itself is somewhat corny and the timing is sometimes off and i give it two stars out of five; but then you add in this awesome ending and I bump it all the way of to FOUR stars. The ending alone is SIX STARS out of five :-)

  • something confuse me really.... why didn't this movie win anything ?? It's one of the best martial movies ever !!!

  • One of the greatest martial flicks of all time!!!!!

  • to offer yourself as a brother.

    Man.

  • I just love James Earl Jones voice, just awsome

  • Still wanna cry when i'm watching that ending. How can you forgive your brother's killer? pretty awesome!

  • Still watch it today from time to time to make me feel good.

    It does.

  • Its a great movie but do you guys know how difficult it is to fight with one eye?

  • I always remember this scene. Martial arts (even at the top level) isn't about winning or being the Elite (best of the best). It's about doing the right thing in the right situation.

Self-control is one of the underlying princicples in Martial Arts. I think if you put alot of people in Tommys situation they would have finished him!! Pretty cool that they are brothers in real life.

    Train hard, guys :)

    Respect.

    Ro

  • @ro332 I've kept this scene with me since I was a kid. It's still my all time favorite scene in any movie.

  • @mark84j me 2 yessirrr

  • @ro332 That is discipline that isbesides fighting the major factor they teach you in martial arts, self control and discipline. the tommy character is what all fighters should be but aren't.

  • I'm gonna' go buy this now

  • "TOMMY NO! NO! Coach Coach Hes gonna KILL HIM"

    LMAO!

  • Best movie ending ever.

So many people are missing out ey, I bet 70 percent or more of all people havent seen this movie.

    Those aerials were fucking awesome.

  • it was outstanding

  • This movie still is a tear-jerker for guys who like movies. I saw this as a kid like 20 years ago, and it still gets me good.

  • best of the best 2 was the best of the series!

  • kind of a toss-up between 1 & 2. 3 threw the whole series off! but I still have all the movies

  • @MaxL214

There's more than 3 of them.

  • @ihatevinniemac yeah I know there's 4, but in all honesty the first two were the only one's that mattered. still hate the fact that Eric wasn't in 3.

  • Man, the bad guy was a poet.

They dont make anymore bad guys like that these days.

  • tommy lee and daehan are real life brother BTW

  • btw, couldn't tommy just have hit dae han in the leg or something, to score a point. so then it would be tied. so then it would maybe go to sudden death, not literally,,... but tommy could score another hit, so the US team could win.

  • Yes, Tommy could have done that, but his mindset was not in winning or losing. He was thinking - kill Dae Han, or spare him. Coach knew it too.

  • We have to consider the state of mind of the character... perfect opportunity for revenge.

    Adrenaline at 100% as well.

He was on the edge. Great movie, one of the very best endings ever.

  • @k0d14k1

There's no honor in that! ^_^

  • wish lyoto machida would had done what Dae Han did. would have been great to watch that.

  • ha, dude

good connection. this was my favorite movie too

  • HONOR!!!!.....they just don`t make movies like this anymore.

  • Epic

  • "My name is Tommy Lee. You killed my brother. Prepare to die."

On a serious note, someone in another board mentioned how this film has the relatively rare feature of distinguishing Asian and Asian American.

  • Tommy lee is retired and he is attending Church everday as my church teacher

  • finish him tommy !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, great stuff! They just don't make movies like that anymore these days!

  • I cry every time. Manly tears. I know you all do.

  • Movies involving a seemingly evil or bad person showing uncontrollable remore and regret toward his actions make me cry. This movie is no exception.

  • Great ending:)

P.S. Tommy and Dae Han are brothers in real life!

  • I almost cried 3:33-5:05. "...And I offer myself as your brother." Ahhh that kicked the water tower of my heart!!

    (;_;)

  • RIP Chris Penn

  • That was more than 20 years ago. You should see what she looks like now.

  • Looked her up. I am sad panda

  • The blonde is hot

  • He should have killed him. Eye for an eye.

  • ...what?....leaves everyone blind?......you're right - that would be just awesome

  • good film great ending a classic

  • i want to cry LOL

  • in 2nd part of this movie dae han is their friend

  • in Best of the Best 2, yes.

  • This is the best movie ending ever.

  • Actually I feel this is a classic fight scene, an emotional statement with a superb ending.

  • If Tommy did kill Dae Han. it would have gone against everything he taught as a teacher. He would not have found closure in his life, and he would have only made things worse.

By sparing Dae Han, he gained a brother.

  • Yeah, didn't Dan help out Tommy in the sequel?

  • an by him sparing Dae Han he not only brought honor to the Lee family name,he also brought honor to his dead brothers memory.

  • This is the best film in the world foreva!!!

  • This movie learn how to forgive!!!Mayby it's only movie but show real feelings !!!GREAT 5/5

  • mad repsect in that movie i enjoyed it everytime i watch it

  • Well about this film, i have mixed feelings... The whole film is about Tommy and Alex.... I was watchin this. A whole movie is about, how to build a team spirit. Then tournament came, which came down to Alex and Tommy. Till the Alex fight i was like ok, but when the last fight started i was like OMG... In the end, where Tommy could win the match, then he realized that it would cost the opponents life... Then the ceremony, man it moved my tears 5/5 to the ending !!!!

  • Damn I love this movie..it almost had me cryin..outstanding.....

  • The ending gives me goosebumps everytime.

  • even thp I know what's gonna happen in the ending.....man....still suspensful

    "NO!" 1:04 hahahaha

  • Question! We owns the rights now of "Best of the best"? Which company? Because here in germany we still haven't a DVD of this movie. I want to call the studio. Please let me know

  • Fantastic ending this is. 2 bad the rest wasn't on it tho

  • i cry every time!!!

  • Then again, it's only a movie.

  • I suppose Tommy Lee could have still knocked him out without killing him. If he's a professional fighter, he should be able to realize, at least to some degree, what amount of force is required to take an opponenet out without permanently injuring him, let alone one that can barely stand under his own will.

  • think for a sec lol, he KILLED his brother, mentally he was a wreck movie or real life, but if you have someone in your hands that you could kill and knowing it won't make a difference of your past. that's kind of hard to call what to do. competition vs reality.

  • I'm crying right now...

  • To save a life in defeat....

That, to me, is the entirety of the martial arts, the justice contained therein.

  • What a fantastic end!! Very good.

  • real shit! such behavior is becoming rare! Values are being lost as the new generations are getting more and more brainwashed by the bullshit they see and hear...

  • Happy ending to a great movie i too cried at the end.

  • How many of you guys cried when watching the ending ? My sister and I did.

  • i still do everytime i watch it lol great ending its the best ending ever :)

  • Yeah I just bout cried right now.....

    beautiful ending

  • best martial arts movie ending!

  • The epitome of a great ending to a movie. Still to this day the best.

  • lovett.!

  • Nothing is as emotionally powerful and honorable as a warrior humbling himself and admitting defeat.

  • I hated how Alex (eric Roberts) cried so damn much in this...standing there crying infront of the koreans receiving there medals was sickening..but I LOVE THIS MOVIE..brings back memories

  • he is like that in all of his movies lol

  • This is represent the real Tae Kwon Do...

  • that part always got me sniffling

  • so inspiring

    amd im cold hearted...

  • even cold hearted feel the heat and mercy towards others at some point in life :)

  • They just dont make em like this anymore!! Absolutely brilliant.

  • Man..... I feel like doing a fly kick across the room now!!!

  • My favourite all time movie ! at last i found this movie !Thanks for the add !

  • where ?? tell me

  • duuuuude, this movie was sooooooo inspiring back in 80's. I was a kid and this american dude was my idol. wooooooow! good old days!

  • And people say Taekwon-Do is useless. Look at that! Courtesy, Integrity, Perserverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit. It's all right there in that scene!

  • who cares of wat people say, n 2 be honest it doesnt wat style u learn, u will find da self control n all da other stuff u said n any style if u put ur mind 2 it...

  • I care and others like me. I'm sick of Taekwon-Do getting the shit end of the stick from arrogant assholes and their chest thumping attitude over MMA and Muay Thai and the like. Granted every style has it's great points but to downplay the great points of other legitimate martial arts is pathetic. Granted this is only a scene from a movie but it's still everything the Taekwon-Do oath and tenets represent.

  • I kno wat u mean jus u gotta be humble cuz ur style iz very known still compared 2 mine, cuz im shorei-ryu karate n my style iz dyin out but dnt wry man Taekwondo iz wat it iz wat it stands 4, ;) jus keep ur head up cuz there will always be trials but dats wat martial arts iz all about...

  • Your style wont die out as long as you and others like you practice it. It doesn't matter how many people practice it, as long as you hold true to it. Martial arts is a personal journey as you have already laid out. I respect your words dude. Be well.

  • yea dats tru well u take care as well man, may da martial arts guide u on ur journey....

  • dont forget victory and what TKD school do u go to man cause not every1 knows those

  • I train with the Western Australian Institute of Taekwon-Do. We're ITF affiliated. We follow the "one hit, one victory" principle only in "competition. It's not one of the tenets so I left it out. Hope that's cool with you?

  • "Your brother was a good fighter. And now I will offer myself as your brother."

That made me cry. Such a phenomenal ending.

  • No doubt my friend. Felt the same way when I first saw this nearly 20 years ago.

  • _Respect mon_

  • "Tommy Nooooooooooo!"

  • Man.. I haven't seen this movie in so long, and I'm crying like a bitch right now, watching this scene..

  • Fuck I almost cried when I saw the like minutes and a half, such a bautiful ending

  • this is beautiful!

  • i can't believe Phillip Rhee-Tommy Lee produced, wrote, and stared in this movie. Why is it so hard for an asian-american to take the lead role?? thanks for the upload i cry at the end every time.

  • lol...i cried too =)

  • Surely they don't make movies like this anymore where talent & martial arts meaning it's is worth something beyond physical & mind it's also about spiritual. This is great example of what is to earn Respect/Honor/Dignity - Love this movie! Thanks for the upload dude! I practice JKD & Muay T - Best ending of this movie! Hope today hollywood would go back to old basics roots like this not this crap they show now days but oh well different generation we must pass on the teaching to the next..

  • these two fighters are actually brothers in real life, which is why they could have such an emotional ending like this... One of the best martial arts movies I've ever seen, someone needs to upload the entire movie
