You need to make sure the inside walls are about 1 inch or less, this allows light to come threw the shaded areas, and the cutout areas,

15 watts of light works for me, most of us use corded Lights Not candles.

Wow those are amazing..I never imagined pumpkin carving as high art form but you have elevated it!

those are the really proffesional ones because the highlights are carved more than the dark parts. which when usually carving its the other way around.
