You know how it goes NIMBY!!! There is a comment by one of the narrators that "this is a very desolate area", YEAH and we like it that way!! One of the reasons people move here is to have some wide open spaces to feel like your in a country setting...just because it is desolate doesn't mean you put a quarry there! I think this is a horrible idea and it will destroy the quality of the areas involved and increase traffic to an even less tolerant level than it already is.
I'm not too fond of it either. I grew up in Temecula for about seven years. theres not much wildland urban interface there so this was the only sanctuary I had. there are a lot of memories there.
I hate this idea of a quarry here in Temecula. It would destroy a beautiful mountain, it's ecosystem, the wildlife, lower the property values in the area, destroy the Santa Margarita River, fuck up the air quality in the region, and destroy our clearly valued open space. Corona already has several quarries and it's contributed to horrible smog in the area up there. The quarry would leak acid mine drainage into the Santa Margarita River - the last free-flowing clean river in Southern California.
One minor point... your unbiased reporting overlooked interviewing local residents. You also forgot to address the impact of this facility on home values in the Temecula Valley.
This is an InView of the Granite Construction Company, the Indio Quarry and the proposed Liberty Quarry site. We wanted to show people the sites because not every person is going to be able to take the tour that they offer. We have already contacted members of SOS-Hills and they have not returned our emails or phone calls. I figured they would love to tell us there side of the story, and if you or anyone you know would like to contact us, email info(at)fullvaluetv(dot)com.
I live in Fallbrook. I know the material is needed for many project in southern california. But I question why the need to be so close to populated areas. Not to mention the cost to wildlife.

This video confirms the total degradation of the land. What a horrifying mess.
