Hmmm mw3 was my first COD game ive been a halo player. Halo 3 is the best FPS hands down. I must admit Mw3 and Halo reach were kinda garbage, their next title will determine their future. COD will always have 12 year old fanboys, and Halo will always have super dedicated players. BF3 and Gears were a real let down. I have determined that i want STARFOX OHHHH YEAHHH!!!!!!!!
pirate game where you join a mach and the group of 80 people are split in half then all the people shoot canons until the ships get close then every one tries to kill all the people then all the people go to a store and spend money that they got for kills and stuff to buy better canons swords and stuff. if you join a clan the you can have clan wars on huge ships or in small sail boats
Cowboys and indians game would be sweet...and how about this for an idea?...Massive mulitplaying Zombie game...not like Left for dead, but take the concept of infected in call of duty and base a game around that...assuming the new consoles will support at least 60 some odd players...watching survivors fall and odds stacking against you as you make it from point A to point B...sounds awesome to me

halo 2 lasted for 6 years beat that cod and the only reason why its not more than that is because they shut down the server. I bet there probably was more people playing halo 2 than cod 4 in ita last days.
@26entersanman In the last days of Halo 2, there were a group of friends playing to keep the servers up. They all kept there xboxes on to keep it going, and then when no one was on the server at all by accident (someone wasn't on when they were supposed to), the servers were shut down. Hardly anyone was still playing Halo 2.
Mw3 will get best when a game comes out that has killstreaks! Most people like playing mw3 and the cods because of the killstreaks. It's fun getting a few kills and bring rewarded as in bf3 where you don't get rewarded. That's how a new game will beat cod. When they have something like killstreaks and better balance in the game
cod 4 is my happiest time playing cod, i played cod 4 yesterday and my first game was 35-5 in tdm and in mw3 its just camping and a silenced assault rifle camping or quickscoping

cod is dumb along with every other mainstream fps games. it's been done to death. the fact that' they're releasing a new cod every single year is stupid and gives no time for the recent cod to fully develop as a balanced game because the company is already thinking up ideas for the next game. everyone just needs to play a new game..yes i know that treyarch and IW are 2 completely different companies but they might as well come together because it's the same game every year.

@BlastedChutoy I'll be happy to agree with you. it's just that i wished they just stick to one game for maybe another year or 2 just to build it up. by releasing a new game every year, it's almost as if the company is saying "okay we're done with the game, it's complete. Here it is, go buy it and have fun". but every one knows that there are some tweaks to be made when the new game releases.
@BlastedChutoy imo, what needs to happen is, when they release the game, give it about 3-4 months to tweak it (seeing as how slow it takes for them to tweak it depending on what company it is but i'm fine with it as long as there are changes made). and then let the players settle down with it for another year or year and a half. they just cant release a game and then 6 months down the line, they say "here's our final product, and oh, the next game is gonna be out soon so be ready"
i never liked cod 4 for some reason. played it, but was never a huge fan. i was playing WAW non-stop when it came out. couldn't stand MW2, but i do like MW3. it's not the best, but it's pretty good
I think the reason MW3 has less wntusiasm is because of Battlefield 3, It's a change from the fast pace of MW3, and people just seem to prefere BF3's completely new gameplay. I have both, but prefere MW3 because CoD4 was a great game and MW3 has the same basic gameplay, with slightly improved features, which is all I wanted and expected from it.
cod 4 was an incredible game and imo WAW was pretty amazing as well. After that imo the series started losing originality and so i switched to bf. The only reason i got BO was because i am in love with zombies.

Just look how crowded airspace is and thats why everyone uses rocketlaunchers. You actually get a pavelow an it is shot down immediately. I prefer halo 2 and gears 3 because they kept it simple, and rely each on their gameplay. Just look how fucked Halo:Reach ist just because they add too much to it und remove what people liked.
in my opinion call of duty is always the same except for some changes ( i dont really care about graphics). Its like you play the same game over and over again, plus i think that the changes were bad, removing stopping power makes everybody use assassin and the killstreaks are ridiculous. Dont get me wrong, i like the specialist-kill streak but the supportkillstreak is a joke. The idea isnt bad, but the things in there, stealth bomber, emp, support juggernaut, osprey, thats too much.
The old call of duty. (2003) is the game that never gets boring. It had other makers.. ect ect, The thing what kept it intresting is the that you had an old Server system. wich allowd ppl to make their own maps ect. There where like "Big" maps like a Huge kitchen where u feel like a mouse and u where hiding behind a piece of soap. Fact is. CoD (Old) Is Stronger in fans. Becouse they still playing the old one. Mw fans keep needing new games & DLC.
This same time last year my friend list was filled with people playing Black Ops, not the case with MW3. I don't have ADD, I can wait 10 seconds to find an enemy if it means better spawning. Infinity Ward has made the Black Ops maps look like gems when they were average at best. Almost every MW3 map is just a mess of shit and has no flow, maps in MW and MW2 are much better.
Counter Strike source has lasted over 7 years and still going strong, Team Fortress 2 has been going for 4 years and is one of the most popular shooters on PC.

Battlefield, Crysis, all of these games demonstrated where the FPS genre could've gone in 2007 and earlier. Planetside was way ahead of its time NINE years ago.
CoD's success has sucked all of the innovation back out of the genre. It's a business, so people naturally want to chase CoD's success by releasing half-baked clones with none of the promising gameplay elements of shooters past. Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 both suffered from this. Neither did anything as innovative as their predecessors.
@EatDeeznuts1 Red Faction had destruction in 2001. And it wasn't limited to prefab buildings. Crysis arguably did destruction better than BF3 in 2007. Company of Heroes, an RTS, had it in 2006. Mercenaries did it in 2005. S2: Silent Storm, a turn-based strategy game, had thorough building destruction similar to BF3 in 2004. There's even a case for Warcraft and Age of Empires, destroying trees and walls to open up corridors of attack.
Infinity ward is trying to remake all the CoDs that made infinity ward successful like CoD4 and MW2 but what they arent doing is giving us something new. In cod4 we got perks killstreaks and in MW2 our minds were blown the hell away by all the weapons, graphics customizable killstreaks and nuke. People LOVED CoD4 and MW2 on release because it was something new whereas MW3 is just MW2 with new maps and guns.
well seeing that BF3 got 3 million sales more than BFBC2, and mw3 got 2 million sles less than MW2 and Bo. If battlefield can get on the new consoles first...It will no doubt dominate the fps world.

@WeAreTwoDoorsDown Halo is the DEFINITION of the FPS Genre. IMHO, it's the one that comes down to pure skill, since you actually have time to react when being shot. Unlike CoD, where you have to camp just to get anywhere, and the games' numerous flaws trump all due to having a title every year.

i think the reason cod died was because activision took advantage of their #1 title and instead of making more quality games like cod 4 they just pumped out a reskin of the game every year. @tcarmdfan I like the idea of older time period. Me and my friend were talking about it. Something like WWI or earlier just becasue the wepons were not automatic and were more skilled.
You say "bring out a console today" but it'll be another year till its released after it announced. In that time the difference between console and PC will be as noticeable as it iscurrently. For example, the graphics card they're putting in the new xbox is based off the 6600 series of video cards which debuted about a year and a half ago. So by the time it's released it'll already be 3 maybe 4 years behind PC graphical power.
CoD will die...the only thing they can do to bring life into the series is make it into a future/scifi game which Battlefield already did amazingly in BF2142. I spend damn near 6 hours a day on CoD and I'm just as ready to see it die as someone who hates the whole series. It really is the cancer of the industry. It just gets worse with every game...spawns especially...Battlefield needs to go to...let's get off this military phase and get some innovation...
CoD imo is the cancer of modern games. Today, why would a big budget company make a new IP or innovate in a new or old franchise when you can just remake an old game into HD or just make a sequel?
Last year was the year of game sequels dominating the big budget sales.
CoD is at the forefront, proving that fuck all creativity, effort and passion built on a big franchise makes a shit tonne of cash. The only new IP or creativity found in games are found in indie games.
COD4 was the best game to the series in terms of how new/more impressive it was than any previous games. Even with MW3 it still uses that game style and just changes occasional things.
i know i'm alone in this, but man i would love to see the Killzone series take it to the next level. I honestly had so much fun playing killzone multiplayer and the single player was no slouch either. vibrant graphics, a fun class-based formula, and the really awesome campaign-style scenario maps were such a breath of fresh air compared to BLOPS at the time.

Just look how crowded airspace is and thats why everyone uses rocketlaunchers. You actually get a pavelow an it is shot down immediately. I prefer halo 2 and gears 3 because they kept it simple, and rely each on their gameplay. Just look how fucked Halo:Reach ist just because they add too much to it und remove what people liked.

in my opinion call of duty is always the same except for some changes ( i dont really care about graphics). Its like you play the same game over and over again, plus i think that the changes were bad, removing stopping power makes everybody use assassin and the killstreaks are ridiculous. Dont get me wrong, i like the specialist-kill streak but the supportkillstreak is a joke. The idea isnt bad, but the things in there, stealth bomber, emp, support juggernaut, osprey, thats too much.

The old call of duty. (2003) is the game that never gets boring. It had other makers.. ect ect, The thing what kept it intresting is the that you had an old Server system. wich allowd ppl to make their own maps ect. There where like "Big" maps like a Huge kitchen where u feel like a mouse and u where hiding behind a piece of soap. Fact is. CoD (Old) Is Stronger in fans. Becouse they still playing the old one. Mw fans keep needing new games & DLC.

This same time last year my friend list was filled with people playing Black Ops, not the case with MW3. I don't have ADD, I can wait 10 seconds to find an enemy if it means better spawning. Infinity Ward has made the Black Ops maps look like gems when they were average at best. Almost every MW3 map is just a mess of shit and has no flow, maps in MW and MW2 are much better.

Battlefield, Crysis, all of these games demonstrated where the FPS genre could've gone in 2007 and earlier. Planetside was way ahead of its time NINE years ago.
CoD's success has sucked all of the innovation back out of the genre. It's a business, so people naturally want to chase CoD's success by releasing half-baked clones with none of the promising gameplay elements of shooters past. Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 both suffered from this. Neither did anything as innovative as their predecessors.

@EatDeeznuts1 Red Faction had destruction in 2001. And it wasn't limited to prefab buildings. Crysis arguably did destruction better than BF3 in 2007. Company of Heroes, an RTS, had it in 2006. Mercenaries did it in 2005. S2: Silent Storm, a turn-based strategy game, had thorough building destruction similar to BF3 in 2004. There's even a case for Warcraft and Age of Empires, destroying trees and walls to open up corridors of attack.

Infinity ward is trying to remake all the CoDs that made infinity ward successful like CoD4 and MW2 but what they arent doing is giving us something new. In cod4 we got perks killstreaks and in MW2 our minds were blown the hell away by all the weapons, graphics customizable killstreaks and nuke. People LOVED CoD4 and MW2 on release because it was something new whereas MW3 is just MW2 with new maps and guns.

@WeAreTwoDoorsDown Halo is the DEFINITION of the FPS Genre. IMHO, it's the one that comes down to pure skill, since you actually have time to react when being shot. Unlike CoD, where you have to camp just to get anywhere, and the games' numerous flaws trump all due to having a title every year.
Activision wouldn't know how to publish a good game if someone wrote a For Dummies book on it.

i think the reason cod died was because activision took advantage of their #1 title and instead of making more quality games like cod 4 they just pumped out a reskin of the game every year. I think battlefield had the right idea with the production of bf3. bf3 has almost no big bugs/glitchs and took more than a few years to develop. i think the next big game series will have to be completly unthought of and a quality game.

Call of Duty DID NOT and WILL NOT replace Halo, EVER. Halo is a totally different beast over CoD, on a whole different level.
Not to mention that Bungie actually took their time and made the Halo games better over the series' run. Activision just pumps out a (CoD) title every year to milk the label.

You say "bring out a console today" but it'll be another year till its released after it announced. In that time the difference between console and PC will be as noticeable as it iscurrently. For example, the graphics card they're putting in the new xbox is based off the 6600 series of video cards which debuted about a year and a half ago. So by the time it's released it'll already be 3 maybe 4 years behind PC graphical power.

CoD will die...the only thing they can do to bring life into the series is make it into a future/scifi game which Battlefield already did amazingly in BF2142. I spend damn near 6 hours a day on CoD and I'm just as ready to see it die as someone who hates the whole series. It really is the cancer of the industry. It just gets worse with every game...spawns especially...Battlefield needs to go to...let's get off this military phase and get some innovation...

CoD imo is the cancer of modern games. Today, why would a big budget company make a new IP or innovate in a new or old franchise when you can just remake an old game into HD or just make a sequel?
Last year was the year of game sequels dominating the big budget sales.
CoD is at the forefront, proving that fuck all creativity, effort and passion built on a big franchise makes a shit tonne of cash. The only new IP or creativity found in games are found in indie games.

COD4 was the best game to the series in terms of how new/more impressive it was than any previous games. Even with MW3 it still uses that game style and just changes occasional things.

i know i'm alone in this, but man i would love to see the Killzone series take it to the next level. I honestly had so much fun playing killzone multiplayer and the single player was no slouch either. vibrant graphics, a fun class-based formula, and the really awesome campaign-style scenario maps were such a breath of fresh air compared to BLOPS at the time.
